Can I make a suggestion to avoid another IM2 general discussion thread clutter? This is in regards to the “What will the AFX & SDCC exclusive multipacks be??” thread and I am hoping to help suggest something that will somewhat organize it better. It just seems like that it might be the general summer con Marvel exclusive thread and there will probably be more announced. I was just thinking of modifying the original post and title to reflect updates. Maybe something like this in the subtitle: “AFX excl. announced 5/31 (or whenever), see first post” and in original post at bottom add link to first post mentioning the find. It'll at least help see what all the exclusives are in one neat place. I don’t always check every thread since I assume news will be in a new post. Looking back into the IM2 thread to see the news history was painful with so many different discussions going on. But that’s just me and maybe that’s just my fault. I don’t mean to create new work for the mods or anything. Just want everyone to get the news when it happens. This isn't a rant or anything but just a thought seeing that thread is getting longer and longer everyday and the IM2 is currently at 60 pages...

Pet Avengers Throg isn't really Thor... IIRC he was some regular frog who was somehow deemed worthy of wielding his own version of Mjolnir, kinda like an amphibian Beta Ray Bill. I believe he was saving his froggie friends from the evil NYC rats in Central Park and had come across a piece of Mjolnir and became Throg. It's been a while since I've read the story but the first mini-series is better than the current Unleashed mini. I still love the banter between Hairball and Ms. Lion! Page

I'm not expecting a director's cut for IM2. Instead, I do expect a lot of deleted scenes. In a radio interview way back promoting the first movie, Jon Favreau essentially said that he prefers not to have a director's cut. He just believes he has said what he wanted to say in the original cut. I just remember this because the same station was playing the full interview a day or two before the release of IM2 and I caught this part.

One more step towards Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers!!! Lockheed – check. Lockjaw – check. Hairball – kinda check. I’m subbing in the cat from the GB line as Hairball, Speedball’s cat, for now. Next up are Ka-Zar’s Zabu, Throg (Frog-Thor), Redwing (Falcon’s falcon), and Ms. Lion (Aunt May’s male dog). I seriously thought we'd get Zabu first than Lockjaw but I'll take it!

I've seen the Marvel Select figures at the endcaps of the comics section, in the Otaku/collectors toys area, children's toys area, in the front near the information desk, and in the front in an Iron Man endcap spotlight. Stores have no uniformity in regards to this. Unless it's Twilight merchandise...

I second that. They make the TRU hunt look like a piece of cake.

I don't know if my report will help calm people down but I honestly don't have any major complaints with my Borders IM Mark IV or BD Whiplash. However, can you guys confirm that your Borders BD Whiplash comes with no whip? I assume having no whip but the molded hand with whip handle is movie accurate since he's battle damaged and can't use his whip anymore. Also, I forgot to mention this for the packaging variant completists. At Borders, the Wave 35 stuff has a different UPC so there's a UPC sticker over that white area covering the normal UPC that I assume will be used for the regular non-Borders/non-TRU release. The Borders exclusive set has it printed on directly but the normal wave at Borders has the sticker. I take it as a sign that they are all the same figures.

I remember someone reporting that Borders were getting 6 of the Iron Man Minimates (not sure if it is the regular wave and/or exclusives). Here was the breakdown of what I saw during lunch: 2x Hogan/Drone (Variant) 2x IM Mark V/War Machine 1x Potts/Drone 1x IM Mark IV/Whiplash Maybe someone bought some already but I doubt they got two full cases and only have 6 left over. Also, they didn't have any exclusives out...

Seems like this has been a big week for Iron Man 2 Minimates. A big chunk of the stuff is pretty much out or coming out soon. The normal wave appearing at Borders surprised me but when thinking about it, it shouldn't. I guess I'm surprised at it's early release... Must. Resist. Buying. Entire. Wave. The TRU stuff is making it's way out now. Some people found them in-store already... The Black Widow set and the Senate Hearing Tony Stark set are the TRU exclusives. Oh how I envy you right now...

Just like a Borders I visited last week, they were lazy to check their computer. At least I left with a pink stuffed Domo so it wasn't a waste of a trip. Anyway, I checked another store and if they logged into their system (not standard kiosk search that customers can use) they can find it if they simply searched under "minimates" or "iron man 2 minimates". It's not hard if they actually felt like helping. So seems like the west coast will get them first?

I think it's just that the collectors (and maybe some scalpers) may not want to do the hunt and probably have Wave 35 preordered somewhere else. I know I don't like the hunt and plan to get the Wave 35 at the LCS. If they released the regular TRU wave online earlier than the stores, there wouldn't be so many of them left. I'm really not surprised that there's so many of the WWH/MrF and Klaw/Storm packs available. Sucks that kids and impulse buyers may not be able to get them in store since us "collectors" probably grabbed them first and they may not think to go online. But maybe, just maybe, they'll get a better chance at the Iron Man 2 wave exclusives. I'd like to visit your TRU one day and feel what you feel!

Another earthquake hit again. A 5.5 aftershock of that long one we just had a few days ago. Anybody else in SoCal felt it?

Wow, they really want to get rid of that Mighty Beans free gift with purchase thing. I don't want it but I can't place an order even if I remove it... Edit: Nevermind. I can remove it! But I think I'll just donate it to a toy drive later.

Longest quake I've ever felt. Not trying to be manly, but I wasn't fearful for my life at all. My laundry machine was running and I was next to it near the beginning and didn't think much of it until I walked away and got confused when the shaking didn't stop. I live in San Diego and my place is on the ground floor so it didn't seem too bad for me. No stories about injury/damage on my end. Hopefully same for others around here too.

I ask anyone who can, grab these for my man "storm 1:08" he has gone out of his way big time to help me out at a few cons, and doesn't ever ask for anything... it would be a very nice thing to do Stumbled into this thread & haven't a clue what it's about but if Storm 1:08 'requires it' then 'make it so' because that guy is one of the most unsung-heroes on this board. I thought they are giving out the White Lantern Rings as part of buying Brightest Day #1. And there should be a white ring packaged inside the White Lantern figure. Or this is something new I don't know about.

SDCC was a mess for the colored Hal Jordans. I'd expect Wondercon to be more tame, but I've never been. They at least have more ticket drawing times... Anyway, I'm going to ride the coattails of this thread and toss my name into the list of people wanting each of these too.

I'm glad that Chuck is willing to sacrifice some of his personal time with us! I don’t know if this is feasible but could there be a transcript posted somewhere on the board afterward? It's a safe bet it'll be a long transcript so it's understandable if it isn't possible. I'm just interested in Chuck's responses but won't be able to participate.

Congratulations! I couldn't bring myself to get a PhD in electrical engineering so I went and got a master's degree instead. I truly admire your determination and effort! Hopefully you'll find a place you'll love to work soon. Let us know where you end up so we can maybe crash your courses!
