  1. just received my first lot of these guys, beautiful looking mates, very well executed. they do all smell though, really bad. Anyone else notice this? It is a rubbery plastic smell, so Luke didn't do anything... untoward to them , but it is nasty, not something I've had with mates before.
  2. Lover or hater, I think we can all agree to looking forward to Swiss Miss's appearance in Amazing Spider-Man 2. That Ditko picture Zach posted, doesn't he look extraordinarily like the goofy Parker face that everyone hates on, wave... 24? The one with Trans Venom, Shocker, etc.
  3. I really like the Hulk, and I really like this box set, but I'm almost 100% that I won't be buying it. While I enjoy getting odd gimmicky mate, like the tied up Green Goblin accessory Peter, these looks are just too specific for me. I try to limit my display to one of each character, or a few famous looks (e.g. I have red/blue and black Spideys, and 3 Wolverines; yellow, brown and vest n' jeans). I do hope this well for DST though, as it looks like it could be very well made, one of those sets you can see the love put into. I think a standard Grey Hulk must be on the way, but his inclusion in this set would sway me.
  4. I do think he'll acquire the costume somewhere, a bit like Kick Ass. People have said it looks a bit (lot) like a motorcross (or one of those other silly sports) suit. The constant comparisons of Garfield to R-Patz... is it all because he has big hair? After all, he doesn't look anything like him beyond that. For those who haven't already made there mind up about this film, and aren't really aware of Garfield or his work, I can promise he is a wonderful actor, and knows how to pick a role. Huge Spidey fan as well, from childhood. Boy A, Never Let Me Go, Red Riding... can't recommend them enough.
  5. The kid's storybook on the previous page did seem to explain why they were fighting each other. If that is true to the film, then shape-shifting plays no part in that bit, at least. I do feel its very likely someone will be acting strange, perhaps liney chinned by the end of the film, way back when I went for Maria Hill, and haven't changed my mind yet.
  6. should have been out saving people, not enjoying his life... selfish.
  7. Twas a real shame someone as talented and creepy looking as Dafoe was stuck behind that big silly mask. Please remind me, in SM2, doesn't Peter show how much easier his life is now by eating a hotdog to 'raindrops keep falling on my head'?
  8. that really is beautiful, lovely work. While I'm not sure about a Lizard mate being that size, that probably is how he should look compared to Spidey. Great pics.
  9. redhead?! I thought the agents were blonde and brunette screw you DST, so not cool. I'm so done with minimates. ... waiting for these guys to turn up, waiting for the postie I feel like a pet loyally waiting for its master to return home.
  10. very cool, are all the zombies from Luke's decal set? the MAX mates have really made be greedy to horde build.
  11. If you want to make a good film, you have to get English actors. Garfield is absolutely perfect for Spider-Man, wonderful actor... and he actually looks like a drawing of Peter Parker. This film has a far better cast all round, which I why I'm certain this will spawn the superior series of Spidey films. I've certainly got no problem with the first two Raimi films, they're good. He may be older than Maguire was when he started, but looks far younger... even as a teenager Tobey looked like a sad old man. Good actor though, good Parker... bad Spidey. I don't have a big problem with things like a modern teenager dressing like a modern teenager. Sure, the suit isn't great, but the fact Garfield has the right build, and his moving/posing in traditional Spidey style is far more important to me. Gold eyes are no more problematic to me than all those silver lines all over the old costume. My biggest problem with Amazing Spider-Man is Rhys Ifans... terrible actor.
  12. The best of Wolvie has the "knife" claws(win). Where standard has the Jim Lee "needle" claws. marvelous, cheers chief
  13. You could use the movie versions... But I'd rather a new versions of both girls and an adult Peter Parker. But then, Gwen's dead, so the only real way to "update" her would be with a rotting broken necked corpse. phwoaaar
  14. what constitutes 'standard' claws?
  15. Cause if you manage to score a second JJJ/Shield set, you'll have a spare blue suit... and spare blonde hair... heck you snag a non-scowling face and a some flesh tone hands you're well on your way to a Jim Hammond custom too. At least, that's my plan. I'm using a President Palmer suit for Matt, and the JJJ suit for Hammerhead.
  16. If that is how the film plays out, im glad the heroes fight is over pretty quickly. Old man not kneeling to Loki... Cheesiest Stan Lee cameo yet?
  17. Second Carnate is mentioned I think 'oooh notthis shit again'. That said, I hope dst make a really crap new Carnage, that just happens to have remarkable feet.
  18. cheers fellas the only thing I've read with Venom in is his first couple of appearances, as you mentioned Jay... Mary Jane was all 'ohhh, that face, arrgghhh, those eyes!' n' all that. Certainly like the character though. anyone recommend some other Venom stories? Preferably from ASM, I've got that 40years of ASM DVD disc.
  19. Heh, I re-watched 'The Alien Costume' parts 1-3 yesterday, because of this very boxset. Question for the class boffins... in the comics, has Venom ever been written as witty and cunning as he is the the Animated Series and Spectacular Spider-Man? Far more concerned with 'outting' Peter and annoying him then killing and eating his brain. Having said that... did Venom ever eat anyone's brain? My younger brother used to have a talking Venom figure, when we were very young, that said 'Die Spider-Man!' and 'I'm going to eat your brain!' Never sure how appropriate that was.
  20. Get two daredevils... Make a Matt Murdock. Just sayin'
  21. not huge on fighting games, but have played a few. am I right in saying Yoshimitsu is in this game? Would like a mate of him.
  22. was very upset waking up to this news. Fantastically talented bloke. Wish his family all the best. RIP Ralph
  23. I thought that was a strange response as well pop, thought it was a pretty good question that just ended up being dismissed. I appreciate Chuck takes the time to do the Q&As, which are sometimes a great read... but feel this happens a little too often. Thanks for info and pic Zach, those are exactly the claws I meant. They look fantastic, with the, for lack of a better word, mounts on the hand and all. Best Wolverine claws to date. Whilst I don't have the 'best of' Wolverine yet, I think it was Jeff's Portrait of an Addiction video review that made me think 'ohhh, those are the same claws as wave 47 Wolverine, cool!). Sorry if I've got that all wrong.
  24. I do like the X-3 claws, in terms of length n' that, but not keen on the whole 'allstucktogetherness'. Remember, these claws are supposed to retracted into this very small man's arms. The Origins claws look very much like the claws from the Origins film, too big, and ultimately a big silly. I suppose he does get draw like that occasionally, but that in itself in daft. Not 100% they're new, just assumed they were, as they look different to the last lot, like the needles wave 28 version had.
