  1. If you're thinking about small, themed batches: Much of Ultra-Humanite's Secret Society could be accomplished with stickers:
  2. Do the Badoon stickers work with the Mirage 4-pack (color)?
  3. I see the heroes set already sold out! You should ask them to add some boxed pics and I'm sure the villains will move too. Fingers crossed on getting GI Joe 1&2 up there as well!
  4. A *lot* of the old silver age costumes would be easy with decals:
  5. Wow! That's great! Let's get Joes up there too. With as epic as the packaging is for these D&D mates, any chance those photos could be added? I personally was "in" from the start, but the retro TSR packaging would have taken me over the line if I was on the fence at all
  6. Well, crap. Maybe BHM is right and it's just not the right time for these? I wish there was time to let these breathe and find an audience. On a tangent, I was in Target the other day for some essential thing, and reflected on how dramatically my toy-buying behaviors have shifted over the last decade. Just stepping into that place with its weird smells triggered all sorts of PTSD from peg-hunting adventures in days past. I think the last time I was doing that with any regularity was during the era of Walgreens MiniMates, with periodic excursions to any one of the outrageous numbers of WGs here in San Francisco.
  7. I think many potential buyers aren't seeing them at all. It's a problem of exposure, I'm pretty certain. I haven't seen any Joe sites, or general toy sites for that matter, with free review samples in-hand doing features on these. A new line needs a big push!
  8. Also: is it a "bonus" or considered one of the 9? I'm extra excited by these, since they were all in my personal parking lot for future customs.
  9. Is it too late to double up the Badoon stickers on the sheet (or at least the head/chest/thighs), since he could pass for an "army builder" version of the species as well?
  10. Three more aliens! Lilandra is set decoration. Also: Lightmaster is an alien??
  11. That's a deep cut there, but I like it. And Darkon is suspiciously close to Darklon...
  12. I think this is the fraught logic that is causing some consternation here. To split hairs: I understand that these 70s-inspired items were conceived long before the present day, and are not a pivot in design. Which is to say: they weren't designed as a reaction to disappointing ARAH sales. I can dig it. However, I still read from your comment that their success or failure will have an impact on ARAH. Or maybe even worse, that any possible hope for ARAH in the future is contingent on the runaway success of the retro-70s line, and only then due to its tenuous connection to the 80s era. So on the one hand, I want to say that these two lines are so different, one should not have any impact on the other. But on the other hand, if it's our only chance to get more ARAH, I guess I'll take it?
  13. Ahhh so much bronze age greatness! I will brace myself for the coming scavenger hunt for base parts
  14. Luke, this is a great concept! I'm very excited to see the rest of the reveals.
  15. These do kinda feel like spiritual precursors to 80s Joes, in that they are big, colorful and at least partially inspired by super heroes.
  16. This prompted me to go back and look at all of the old Adventure Team stuff, and I'm getting more excited about these. I remain unconvinced that these will sell like Mini-Hotcakes, but I'm certainly on-board for a set. And they'll be single-carded? I can't wait to see the art. I love retro 70s action ephemera. I also came to a bit of a shocking revelation: I actually owned Luminous as a kid. I had no idea it was a Joe figure. Seeing pictures of the vintage figure triggered all sorts of old-toy memories. I never had any of the other figures, so maybe my folks picked it up on a whim once it hit clearance. ...just like how I plan to buy these ZING! But seriously, I'm down.
  17. +1 to this. Thanks Zach! I am certain it's an issue of exposure, because how could these not sell?? They are golden. Have you sent a set to Hisstank.com for a review? Or secondarily Yojoe, GeneralsJoes, 3DJoes? Looks like someone already mentioned Hasbro's feed, that would be fantastic exposure. I used to, until these Joes came out. And now also the D&D mates, because those boxes are epic throwbacks to the old rulebooks I grew up with.
  18. These are cool looking, and I love any and all vintage nods. I might be just a tad bit young to remember the originals. AT FIFTY. But they recall vague memories I have of playing with similar toys from Remco and Marx. I may even have had an AT jungle hunt set with a big jeep. I seem to recall flocked beards. But I'm sure these old toys disintegrated or were garage-saled before my collecting days really began in earnest. But if the intent is to find something you think will sell better than 80s Joes... I don't even know where to start kicking the tires on that logic. I'm sure there are plenty of 60+ collectors out there still, and even on these boards, but if you couldn't get the 80s Joes to catch fire, what's the plan of attack here? If this is a passion project that Chuck wanted to squeak out before you retire Joe Mates, that would make more sense. I'm not opposed to these in the least, but the logic doesn't track.
  19. I will donate them to science and replace them with cyborg Cobra BAT eyes.
