  1. PL when you eventually do get your steaming pile from AA, you will remember to post a picture won't you?!

Sorry to hear you deleted your account but as we're harshly reminded from time to time you can't always go back. We're better off with more fond memories than bad ones. Even though I left AA with a bad taste in my mouth, I consider my time spent there worthwhile if only because it spawned communities like this and others, where folks can actually be tolerant of a variety of opinions.

  2. Yeah, the little "gauze taped over the eye" was bugging the hell out of me! There was no reason beyond leaving "New Caprica" for him not to have received some medical attention and/or a patch(unless it was meant to be symbolic of his inability to move beyond the events on New Caprica).

Someone please make that man a glass eye. I feel bad for any performer who has to suffer through something like that for their artform. Reminds me of LeVar Burton wearing that hairclip over his eyes for so long. Those contact lenses didn't come soon enough.

And BSG is apparently moving to Sundays at 10pm here in the States on January 21. I'll be there but I hope everyone else will be as well.

  3. Gimme a series of one-shot boxed sets featuring the main characters from the following properties:

    Mystery Men

    Heroes

    The Authority

    The Endless

    The Goon

    The Tick

    Blade Runner

    Ex Machina

    Underworld

    Austin Powers

    Men in Black

None of these would have to be bigger than the 10-pack Toys "R" Us offered in the Marvel line.

As for more epic, ongoing licenses, I'd still like to see:

    Star Trek

    Flash Gordon

    Alien

    Hellboy

...and God help me, Star Wars.

Adding Pirates of the Caribbean to the list. MegaBloks just ain't doin' it for me though they've got some attractive construction sets.

  4. "A few members have expressed problems getting their stand to fit into the hole on their 1701-A. If it breaks, AA will replace it."

In about three or four years.

"When you see a post by Picard or myself talking about an upcoming product, or showing you images that you haven’t seen before, it’s because Art Asylum gave us approval to release that information. So I don’t want to hear any more talk from the membership about how this club isn’t ‘Official’."

    I miss Ulan.

"If you are not familiar with Spacemegs.com. It is a website setup so that Art Asylum Forum Members can have 20 Megs of free web space."

    And I miss SpaceMegs.

  5. When I was at LEGO last December, they indicated they do not have the Spidey 3 license. Things may have changed since then, but based on the amount of MegaBlok product with Spidey's likeness, I doubt that LEGO will get the movie rights.

I always thought Spider-Man was a pretty dumb move for a construction set. Unlike Batman or Star Wars or even Harry Potter, it's not an environment- or vehicle-friendly property. I mean, why license generic buildings and cars just so you can sell minifigs?

That said I don't see Batman Lego sets flying off the shelves locally. I wonder how that property is performing for them.

  6. Random Thoughts:

    - Coinciding the release of toys WITH the movie tie-in is a good thing. Unlike X3 tying into neither the theatrical release NOR the home video release.

    - So this is Series 15? That would make Series 16, what, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine?

    - The only way we're going to see a Thor Minimate is if he joins the X-Men.
