  1. banshee may actually work better with the secret wars cap marvel cape...very similar design Jeff of the Miniacs Agreed, hopefully DST is thinking the same. He and Sunfire are about the last (besides a slew of villains) X-characters I need to see to call my personal team/s complete.
  2. I'm thinking those wings would make a good Baron Blood. http://marvel.com/universe/Baron_Blood_(Falsworth) Pair him with Spitfire (his niece and Union Jack's daughter) and complete the Invaders. I still would like Tiger Shark too (and Attuma)!
  3. Those all look really good. For a truly "Marvel" Conan, you'd need Cap boots (Shocker's are already brown) and Doom's green tunic with gold gauntlets. I'm really liking the looks of those Skarr bits though (if CSC would ever get my Series 25 in). Anyone considering 'movie version' using T2 (that weird skin-tone is tough to match though)? Conan the Barbarian should be on DST's "to-do" list: 2 box sets. Conan, Subotai, Valeria, Akiro the wizard. Thulsa Doom, Rexor, Thorgrim, Princess. Classic.
  4. Yet another reason that I am just sick that I cannot attend this year!
  5. Because there is no symmetry in the future. Besides, you wouldn't want to cover-up the bitch'in-bling of a cybernetic-arm with big gauntlet-gloves! Oooo, maybe we'll get some chromium-variant packages (God I wish I could erase the 90's)!
  6. Also, they should release everyone in the series with the exact same face. Otherwise, he looks way to distinctive. Oh come on now, they did get the nose and hands right! Liefeld was such a lazy f'ing hack.
  7. eh? Why would Namor need those wings? What chunk of comics history am I missing? Looks like the used the same trick for Monica's cape in the Secret Wars box set. Which leads me to hope for a Falcon! Some time in 2010, I suppose... These parts: http://dailypop.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/namor.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super-Villain_Team-Up I loved "Super-Villain Team-Up" as a kid (still do)! Well huh. I just don't remember that costume. Fairly similar to his current incarnation, probably no accident that. Thanks for the links, cdubya. It was just for a brief time in the late 70's-early 80's (Bronze-Age FTW!!!) and was created by Reed Richards (if I remember correctly). So far, every toy representation of this specific costume has omitted them (I would imagine difficulty of execution/budget is to blame). Finally, my Defenders Namor will be truly "Super-Villainy"!!
  8. My sentiments exactly. Never-the-less, it's an interesting experiment (no pun intended) and generic 'mates are always welcome! It would be cool as Hell if these could eventually lead to specifically licensed sets to compliment the tv/movie lines. Who wouldn't be thrilled with say Ghostbusters HQ, Galactica, Star Trek, etc. sets? *Those lil' hexagon shapes on the floors remind me of dream project I've been kicking around for a year or so for some clear Minimate/LEGO stands that could be customized by inserting printed images, logos, etc. underneath. The idea stemmed from the BSG dog-tags (hexagonal shape). I just don't know how I'd go about manufacturing these.
  9. My personal hopes lead towards the production of a Lock-Jaw, anything else is gravy. Horses would be welcome too!

  11. Pretty underwhelming set. I wouldn't fret too much on Storm; you just know that they won't waste that Daken mohawk mold...she'll appear in the near future.
  12. Awesome line-up, these just keep getting better! Kudos to AFX too for organizing box sets to coincide with these...but where's my Inhumans set (I know, "wrong thread" but it's relevant). These all look fantastic; I can't wait! I wouldn't worry too much about lack-of-Kang, I have a strong feeling that Series 33 will be Avengers related (does anyone else see a Swordsman 'mate with that Kree mask + Wolvy shoulders + Cap boots and gloves? If not, I know what my next custom will be! ). I suspect we'll be getting some Iron Man villains too with the upcoming movie sequel. *Namor is so getting a set of those Black Bolt wings!
  13. Finally found these yesterday, but it took me a few trips to complete the set. There seems to be no rhyme or reason in purchasing-trends with these. One TRU was sold-out, my closest one had 3 Winstons, 2 Slimers, 1 each of Egon and Courtroom Venkeman and no Rays. The last store I tried had a full case. I suspect unless one is fortunate enough to pounce on a fresh case, it will take a few trips for the completist...weird. Over all, I'm pretty happy with these.
  14. A LEGO search on ebay will turn-up plenty. I've got an awesome 'lil turkey breast (with removable legs and platter!) from the MegaBloks King Arthur castle. Alas, I'm still waiting for my TRU to get them in (I do have the series 1 box set though). Surely this will be the week.
  15. I kind of like the ones on The Spirit (especially with the clever rolled-cuff pieces), but it does look rather odd to have a mix of the two styles in one pack.
  16. BSG fans? Many. Minimate fans? Not so much. The 7" seem to sell pretty quickly, but they are carried in very small batches. While there is no doubt that this line can't last too terribly long, I believe they'd sell through if each store received no more than 2 cases (and the second I'd reserve as a "refresh" after Series 2 hit...if it were my call). My biggest fear is based on what I'm currently seeing with the T2 'mates; the first case sold fairly well (in the course of a month), but then they restocked and there are now 36 packs (I kid you not) in two separate aisles with no signs of movement. As I mentioned above, my closest TRU is nearly sold-out (though I know of another that just received their case), however if it gets restocked like the T2 line did I'm afraid that they will hinder the arrival of Series 2 and the Mini-flyers which are what I personally need an abundance of (for customs and army-building). Here's hoping that they kept the production numbers modest as the first Marvel Exclusives were, otherwise...
  17. Well, you did. Ironically, it's Marvel and T2 (series 1) that are currently clogging my TRU; there's only one Starbuck/Leoben pack left. We still haven't got GB yet, but I don't blame it on the 36 T2 packs (an over-zealous restock as there was just 3 a few weeks ago filling pegs next to Marvel and now Terminator fig.s!) or 15 Marvel (minus Bullseye/Moonstone of course) that are lingering. I've offered to help those needing the BSG wave (several times), but have had no takers. Am I to assume that everyone that was clamoring for these got theirs already, or were a few of you just blowing-smoke?
  18. As a fan of all BSG I would love to see them. It just seems pretty unlikely (without a tie-in) that they'd gamble on any more classic BSG at this point... but you never know. At the moment, I'm just hoping that these modern BSG Exclusives do well enough that we might get a Mk II Viper before the well runs dry.
  19. I saw a ton of 'em at my local TRU. I do have some concerns about how well this line will sell. Besides a small community of collectors that may very well all hang out on this forum, I don't see the appeal of BSG Minimates to a wide audience. And quite a few folks here pre-ordered them online to be sure they got a set. I have no doubt that these will sell-through since there's only two complete sets (and two extra) per case (though probably slowly) as long as they keep the production numbers relatively small. My fear is that I will clear-out a store only to come back to completely restocked pegs that may not move as fast or even worse delay the stocking of Series 2 and the Mini-flyers. This is where our International brothers (and sister) come in. We really need to start organizing some "Help" threads to get these to those that may not have access to them to keep peg-warming to an isolated minimum. As I've posted many times before, I am willing to help-out anyone looking for these if they'd like to PM me a list of wants (I also have a few extra Stealth IMs, Union Jack/Wonderman, and T2 SWAT packs).
  20. September 6 is the date given, but of course it could vary a few weeks depending on your location.
  21. Yep, still waiting on CSC to deliver my Series 25, which consequently is delaying my "villains set" too (I hope they set one aside). I'd be too pissed if I miss classic Red Skull as a result of this delay. It's been so hard refraining from picking-up the TRU sets (which are diminishing every week) while waiting for these.
  22. I'm sure you can find a suitable stand-in, as most 'mates only bear a vague resemblance to their subject. That's not to say that we don't still need some more Trek 'mates from the DST/TRU partnership (excellent opportunity for some aliens).
  23. From the horses mouth DST Matt says: "Indeed the Ghostbusters Video Game Minimates will be on sale during SDCC and also later in Previews. They'll be $16.00." My guess is that you will be able to buy them at DST and possibly AFX stands during the show. T. Good to know, hopefully enough of these make it to Previews (my only option)!
  24. Hoo-frak'in-ray, today was a good day! Scored a full set of the 'mates (wanted 2, but will have to go back later...spent way too much on these and other stuff today) and the BSG 7" excl. "Longshot", Battle-damaged Mortar Cylon, and Civil war Cylon. Not only that, but the kid rang it up wrong so I got 5 for the price of 3 (didn't realize this until I was in the car or I'd have gone back and bought the whole frak'in case!). Big sigh of relief (until Series 2 and the Flyers). If my other 3 TRUs have these, I'll be more than happy to hook-up those that need these; let's clear those pegs! PM requests welcome.
  25. Actually, they can locate these easier by the Item # 804431 (BSG series 1). While it's waaay too early for these, here are the Codes for the others: Aug. 30(BSG series 2) Item #804455 Sept. 6(BSG mini vehicles) Item #809899 Good-Hunting!
