  1. I usually use Forbidden Planet, either the store in Bristol or through their website. You can also get the Spider-Man 3 waves off Play.com for about £4 and no postage and packaging cost. I also ask in a local comic book shop if he can get some of the exclusives, but he can only get the ones that appear in preview magazines. I have used Ebay a few times to get some of the rarer ones but I prefer to use the sources I've mentioned above.
  2. Though I am looking forward to this, I'm a little annoyed that they're ignoring SF3 for this sequal. In my humble opinion SF3 Third Strike is the best Street Fighter game ever. I'm hoping some of the SF3 cast appear, especally when this is meant to be the "Alpha" for SF2 and 3.
  3. In my eyes Spidey needs changes to his status quo. There's only so much they can tell with "Peter living with is aunt, trying to balance school/a job with his life as Spidey". A few years back May finally learnt Peter was Spidey and accepted him for who he was. A few years later Peter joined the Avengers and the lives of Peter Parker and Spider-Man started to become one. I liked the idea of Peter and family living in the Avengers mansion and more heroes started to learn who was behind the mask. I wanted to see Peter walk around the Baxter Building, talking to Johnny and Reed with his mask off. I loved the bit at the end of House of M where a number of major non-mutant heroes are standing in the New Avengers mansion dressed in their costumes and Peter's in his Pjs and a dressing gown. And then there was Spider-Man unmasking during Civil War, one of my favourite moments in the story arc. In my eyes that was a good change to the status quo. It allowed for stories we've never seen before to be told. Even if in the long run they may not have reached their potential, at least they tried. But no. Such a change is not allowed. Instead Peter must be in some kind of 70s based "Groundhog Day" because apparently those changes and the growth that came with them are terrible and no one should like them. If I was so desperate to read stories from the 70's, I'd actually read them in Astonishing Spider-Man (a UK that usually includes US comes from about two years ago and a classic story) instead of skipping over them to see what will be in the next issue and read the letters page. I felt everything since Spidey joining the Avengers was the best thing that happened to him in a long time. In my eyes re-telling an old concept is about a good as a teapot made out of chocolate. Also I'm not a very big fan of May and generally want her out of the Spidey universe. I wish Peter respected her wishes (as someone already mentioned, she told Peter she didn't want to be saved). I may read BND for a while just to see how it turns out. Maybe it'll end up being good. Maybe he'll eventually start to re-gain the development I liked. Maybe Marvel would retcon this and go back to how he was a few months back. Some people have mentioned that "The Initiative #7" has put in place a possible "Plan B" for re-masking Spider-Man if they decide to retcon OMD/BND.
  4. I can see another up there for $13. I'd probably go for it if it had the "Buy Now" option.
  5. Same here. My contact says he couldn't get it as it hasn't featured in a preview mag, so can someone recommend who I should speak to and/or contact me about how I can go about getting one.
  6. I want to ask a contact how easy it would be to get this, but how many people would be interesting in shipping this to the UK? Also, this will be the first time I've ever done something like this, so what's the general procedure?
  7. Fair enough, but I still fail to see why they have to release it as an exclusive when they could just as easily release it in a bog standard wave. Heck, we've had enough bloody variants of "Classic Spidey" in the main waves, why not give an alternative costume like Scarlet or Web Armour a chance for a change. Like I said before, I'm not as fond of the classic costume as I am of some of the variants, so I'd more than happily welcome them.
  8. I take it then you're not aware of the fact that I happen to live in the UK. Neither do I mate. I have to go to Bristol which is a £6.50 train ticket or drive down and try to find parking, which is not easy on a Saturday as the good spaces fill up quickly, and are expensive (meaning petrol and parking result in the trip being as, if not more expensive than the train) to get to my local store that sells minimates. Alternatively I can just order them online. However minimates often don't appear in UK stores for a further I have managed to order some exclusives through a local shop, but Minimates don't sell well for him, so waves are out of the question. Besides, what I said was: What I meant there was release him in a wave or a more widely available exclusive. For example two of the Target two packs were included in the recent Spider-Man Classic Box Set (though that was planned before the Target wave fell through), and the Web Armour as a rare exclusive. With that logic in mind, if the Scarlet fails to take off then hopefully they'll give him a simular release. I'd personally love to see an "Alternative Costume" box set with Scarlet, Web Armour, Iron Spidey and maybe Unmasked Ben Reilly and Unmasked Spidey 2099. I apologise if that wasn't clearer the first time around. All I'm saying is, why do they have to make it such a rare exclusive? Heck, why even bother with bloody exclusives in the first place? The DC waves so far haven't had any, and resulted in a good six or so waves released in 2007 with potentially one or two more out before next March. That could end up being eight or so waves in the space of twelve months while Marvel has only had two/three if the Spidey 3 ones turn up anytime soon (I'm counting the twelve month period be. I just feel if they put the exclusives in the main waves, that would mean more waves for everybody which in the long run means good news for everybody. To be fair I wouldn't normally give a rat's arse, but like I said before - Scarlet is the one minimate I've wanted more than any other. It's my all time favourite costume, and the one I've wanted in figure form the most. Heck I prefer it to classic. If I were to stop collecting minimates I'd happily do so after I got Scarlet. However sod's law says he ends up being the one exclusive I can not easily get. So why not try and see where I'm coming from here - all I'm asking is for the creators of minimates to give him a more general release. Is that to much to ask? (and before someone says eBay, considering how rare the minimate will be, I doubt it will be easy to get off there. Plus I can't stand eBay).
  9. Same here. This is why I'm so pissed off with the people who make Minimates. As mentioned before, Scarlet was the one Minimate I've wanted more than others since day one and for some some reason they refuse to give him a general release. WHY?! What's wrong with including him in a regular wave or making him an exclusive that people can actually buy without any problems. Truth be told I hope this falls through like the Target Minimates did a few months back and they decide to give him a proper release.
  10. What part of the word "exclusive" don't you understand. It means something that everyone wants but not everyone can have. I don't see why this is always an issue. I was gona order some BSG mates, but I'd rather deal with Corner Store Comics anways, and with the shipping and the orders falling through, I think I'll do like others and wait for ebay. Or knowing AFX, that have literally thousands of these. There's no way they're gona run out and I'll just wait till they dump the rest. In this context, exclusive refers to the fact that it isn't offered by other retailers - it really has nothing to do with a discrepancy between people who want and those who can have. Simply put, it is only available through this outlet and no others. Exactly. I live in the UK so I am no easy position to get some of the excsluives, and by sod's law they're the ones I really want, namely this one and the Scarlet Spider minimate that was announced a few weeks back. They're two of my favourite Spidey costumes and ones I've wanted to see in Minimate form since I first started collecting them. I asked a local shop if they could import the Scarlet minimate and they weren't sure. I've been keeping an eye on sites I could possibly order it from and so far no luck. And as for Web Armour, I've just picked up all the minimates I want at this moment in time (and ordered some others through the shop I mentioned above), so I am in no position to spend the $25 needed to get this minimate. Web Armour and Scarlet are two that I'd much rather have in my collection that another bloody version of the Classic costume which was included in the recent box set and planned for an up coming wave. Like I said earlier, why can't they do what they've done so far with DC and include all of the exclusives in waves which are easier for everyone to get, also allowing for wave to be released more frequently? Yes there is Ebay but frankly I hate that site and prefer not to use it. Or heck, why not do those costumes in a box set with some of the other alternative Spidey costumes? Maybe have Scarlet, Web Armour, Iron Spidey, 2099 unmasked and Ben Reilly unmasked box set. I'd buy that in a heart beat.
  11. I hope so as I'm personally in no position to get one otherwise (again bar Ebay). Personally I don't see why they can't keep all the characters in the waves like they've done (so far) with the DC minimates. Makes it a lot easier for me personally to get the ones I really want. Web Armour and Scarlet are easily two of my favourite Spidey costumes, maybe even topping the main one. Yet both of them are exclusives that I can't get very easily and frankly I find it annoying, especally when they keep using the main costume in regular waves.
  12. Ugh. I am so SICK of exclusives. Not everyone has easy access to them (bar Ebay which I prefer to stay away from). Why can't they include costumes like Web Armour and Scarlet in NORMAL waves so people have an easier chance to get them?
  13. So no more zombies. I'm glad we at least got what we did though. I wonder how small the window was. I'm a little disappointed myself as well. I picked up Marvel Zombies 2 a few weeks back and liked the cybernetic enhancements Spidey, Wolverine, Iron Man and Luke had and the "Galactus Hulk/Classic Hulk" look Hulk had. As a result, I was hoping to maybe see them in minimate form as well as maybe some others from the second storyline (I'm not really in a position to make custom minimates).
  14. Name - A Caracal is a kind of wild cat I once saw on a documentary and became fond of. It's also the alias I use on most sites. Avatar - A gif of Luffy from One Piece. I'm a huge fan of the series (not the 4Kids dub), and saw this avatar else where online. However that version didn't loop back and had a mark on his face. I removed the mark and duplicated some of the frames so it looped back. I use this avatar on most sites.
  15. I'd much rather see more Street Fighter waves than Star Trek, Rocky, Back to the Future, 24 or just about any other non-comic book based licences. I'm a huge fan of both Street Fighter and Darkstalkers and personally would love to have had "house hold names" like Felicia, Talbon and Ken in my collection, as well as some of the more obscure characters like Gill, Yun and Jedah. However I'm in the minority so sadly there's little I can do about it.
  16. Frankly I'd love to see Kyle in all his costumes, including Parallax. I'm aware that would make him into the DC equivalent of Spider-Man but (and the same goes for Spidey) I like the costumes he's warn over the years and personally would love to have them in my Minimate collection. Other than Kyle I'd like to see: Scott Allen, Jade, Sinestro and Cyborg Superman in their "Sinestro Corp" costume, Arkillo, Manhunters and Hal as Parallax.
  17. I have heard we Brits get Minimates about a week or two after the US so we should see them in stores mid, late September at the latest.
  18. While I agree it's annoying the web shooters are painted on, I may put a spare pair (if I can find some) on him (if I can find him which hopefully I will). Otherwise I like how he looks. As much as I'd like to have seen the jumper more realistic I can't really think of how they could have done that. And seeing as how Scarlet is the one Spidey based Minimate I've wanted since I started collecting, the fact they're finally doing one is better than nothing (though I've still not forgiven them for making him so limited).
  19. Am I the only one who doesn't mind Beast's current look? I mean I like cats, I like Beast and now Beast is more cat like. Win win in my opinion. Anyway I'd love to see an updated Nightcrawler, maybe complete with a sword or two. He's one of my favourite Marvel characters and personally I think he's one of the best X-Men of all time (I'd say better than Wolverine but even Sammy the Fishboy is better than Wolverine). I'd also like to maybe see the Green Goblin get updated with one of his more recent costumes.
  20. Good question. And why such the support when apparently it's closing stores left, right and centre? XD A fellow British mimimate collector called Peter huh? Anyway, I'd be interested in doing this as well if some of my other sources are unable to get their hands on them. I'd rather not use Ebay unless I have to. Though, like I said before, I'm still slightly pissed at them for making such a highly demanded fan favourite such a rare exclusive. Was it really that hard to make it as widely available as some of the others like the Zombie Iron Man/Black Panther and Classic Spider-Man sets?
  21. FINALLY! A SCARLET SPIDER MINIMATE... Wait a minute... "Suncoast/FYE exclusive". WHY IS THERE "exclusive" AFTER THE MINIMATE I'VE WANTED MOST FOR YEARS! *calms down a little* As a UK citizen it won't be easy for me to get this. I do know of a shop that MAY be able to import it for me, but the key word there is "may". Frankly I'm hugely disappointed Scarlet couldn't have been included in a wave or box set. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy they're FINALLY making a minimate out of the best Spider-Man costume, but I'm disappointed it's an exclusive because knowing sod's law, I won't be able to easily get my hands on it.
  22. Scarlet Spider Iron Spider Ricochet (Peter or Johnny) Prodigy Hornet Dusk Black Panther Beta Ray Bill Mar-Vell Genis-Vell Phyla-Vell Phyla-Vell as Quasar Quasar Gambit Psylocke Captain Britain Updated Nightcrawler (maybe with a sword) Ultimate Iron Man Ultimate Thor Ultimate Captain Britain
  23. I loved "Batman of the Future" (as it was called in the UK), so I'd love to see Terry added as a minimate one way or another.
