  1. I sure hope there aren’t any quantum suits in the Walgreens wave. Looking at what’s possible this wave seems prime for disappointment.

    - Hulk (new suit)

    - Cap (Quantum & new suit)

    - Widow (new suit)

    - Ronin

    - Hawkeye (new suit)

    - War Machine (new suit)

    - Iron Man (new suit)

    - Rocket (Quantum & new suit)

    - Thor (Quantum & standard)

    - Thanos

    -  Antman

    -  Cap Marvel

    that’s 15 possible minimates w only 8 spots.

I’ve got a bad feeling about this. ?

What I’d really like to know is why the biggest movie of the year w more than enough known content (there’s probably even more that we haven’t seen) for more releases is getting so little.

  2. TNG minimate boxset w multiple heads. Come on DST you’ve seen the light w this idea w the Endgame boxset now do it for Trek.

Plenty of uniform styles to choose from and with the upcoming Picard show at the end of 2019/beginning 2020 interest will be up.

Not a lot of new sculpting/new pieces would be needed for this, costs would be lower. You could even make one minimate in it an army builder alien if you wanted to go crazy w value.

@DSTZach @DSTchuck give it a rest w OG Trek and give TNG a shot. Please ?

Far more than 36. Assuming 10 and 78 hit this year...

    Cap Marvel - 12

    infinity War - 12

    77 - 9

    78 - 9

    10 - 8

Thats 50, and that's just Marvel.

I sure hope there’s more than Zach doesn’t know about or isn’t allowed to reveal that’s barely any product for Walgreens for the rest of the year. I can’t imagine them wanting to hold peg space for one wave of both lines over the course of 10+ months.

This comes off more as minimates are done at Walgreens and being dropped during a reset later this yr.

Also this list means no SDCC or other con exclusives, no comic box sets or anything. ?

    No Scale Armor Captain America?

If I had to choose I’d rather have an outrider or redone chitauri over Cap. I’m sure DST will make Cap instead.

I’d just don’t know why DST is doing only one wave. There’s more than enough for 2 waves. It’s the biggest movie of yr and they knew they weren’t doing Spider-Man mates.

That leaves Walgreens with no movie mates until 2020. I can’t see them keeping the peg space w 10+ months of no new product.

  5. Not really interested in the Quantum suits but I can see why DST would make a boxset for them.

I’m more interested in the new looks. If DST gives us the following in the 2-packs I’ll be happy:

    - Armored Thanos

    - New Warmachine

    - Ronin

    - New Black Widow

    - Thor w Stormbreaker

    - New Iron Man

    - New Hulk

    - Outrider or Chitauri redo

Chracters with the same outfits like Marvel, Ant-man, etc should be skipped. If there were two waves then fine w the repacks but w only 12 figs any repacks just come off as lazy cost cutting.

  6. The JL figs were on sale recently and I’ve been wanting to watch Season 3 of YJ so I finally signed up for DC Universe and bought the figures. I was bracing for WW & GL to be bad but the rest in the pics I’ve seen seemed good.

Got my figs today and these things are even worse in hand. The quality is garbage.

My Superman has such loose hips joints he can’t even stand. He just pelvic thrusts and then falls over. Flash has loose hip joints and other joints as well. He can stand but just barely.

Hawkgirl looks nice but the wings don’t fit in the holes. I don’t even think heating them up will work, i’m going to have to shave down the wing ball joint to fit them in holes in her back.

Wonder Woman is even worse in person and can’t be saved, such a gangly mess.

GL is ok at best. Repainting the head and giving him some larger hands from other figures will help.

Batman came w two left forearms,  so I have to contact customer service and hopefully get a replacement.

Aquaman and MM thankfully have no problems are good. The hand choices on most of the figures is poor, especially when you look at what they have on the boxes.

After this experience I’m not sure I even want there to be more JL figs through DC Universe. I would only consider it if they were full releases w all the accessories/hands and they fix the quality issues.

Characters need to be paired up within worlds, which limits who can come with pirate and monster versions of characters.

So the license actually restricts who can be in a pack together? And characters like mickey/maleficent can be together since they aren’t level specific?

It makes sense to put related figures together but what a ridiculously anal retentive requirement.

Just waiting for an Aqua figure, I guess Series 8 at this rate. Baymax looks nice. Swann over Woody or Hercules is kinda meh.

Yea we aren’t getting Aqua or characters like Riku, Kairi ever. Zach said there are 5 waves planned out and unless the Disney characters cause a big sales increase that wil be it.

DST is just doing what was in the promotional materials/trailers for KH3. The 5th wave will be something like this:

    - Sora (monsters inc)/random Disney character

    - Donald (monsters inc)/Sully

    - Pirate Goofy/Barbossa

That will finish up the trio for monsters inc/pirates and give us more pirates minimates for whoever has a boner for them at DST. Elizabeth Swann in a kingdom hearts line....?

  9. so DCC is continuing the line by now making up their own designed animated characters that were never in the shows. Uhhhh.....Why??

I understand not wanting to put out a wave of Clock King, TNBA Penguin, and the other scraps left (though I’d totally buy them) but why start making up your own stuff?

There’s still Luthor, Brainiac, Darkseid, Lobo, Parademons, etc and all of the characters from JL (I’ll give them a pass on JL since they might be restricted) and things like the Fatal Five movie.

It’s things like this, which won’t make me miss DCC if they are truely dead at the end of the year. Between the poor decisions, delays/cancellations, and constantly changing focus trying to collect their stuff is such a pain and usually disappointing.

    No one has mentioned Lego.

    Lego....smego

The landscape is changing and new opportunities may be available. Licenses are split into more parts than ever. With DCC going away speciality has a huge void that might open up something.

Mezco was able to produce those horrid mez-itz’s for years w Lego making DC products.

Don’t throw up your hands and just give up since Lego is around. Fortune favors the bold.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbour? Hell no!

  12. From McFarlane interview on IGN:

”In addition to stepping in for Mattel, McFarlane Toys will also focus on the market previously covered by DC Collectibles (which was recently folded into WB's Consumer Products Divison as part of a larger corporate restructuring). That means fans can expect high-end collectibles like statues and busts from McFarlane along with traditional action figures. McFarlane told us, "With DC Collectibles taking a step back, there’ll be a void there, and they want me to sort of step up and take some of that momentum on myself."

so they are taking over all collectible stuff that Mattel/DCC did and spin masters is doing kids stuff. Come on DST weasel in there and get some.
