  1. I don't think this will be the last we see of BSG 'Mates. With the news that Sci-Fi plans to streeeeeeeetch out the fourth season well into 2009, I think we'll have plenty of time to get a few more series out. I certainly hope that's the case, especially with the big reveal at the end of last season, we'll have greater prominance for some of the second string characters. (Plus, in a case where some variants make perfect sense, I think some New Caprica style figures would be awesome.)
  2. I preorder whole waves, including variants. I don't get duplicate extras (except when required to get a new figure, like with variants, or the TRU 10 pack), but do get duplicate characters (like Venom, tongue Venom, and big chest Venom). It's expensive to get variants after the fact, so I just get them when they come out. Way easier and cheaper that way.
  3. The Diamond e-Spectrum I got in my e-mail today said that these were now available in the Diamond shop. Based on that, I expect them to come out tomorrow. Huzzah!
  4. Hmm, today's the day. Anyone get them? I'd be delighted if that were the case.
  5. I also got my hair in the mail yesterday. Very fast response. I wrote them on the 4th, Chris wrote in that it was being mailed on the 5th, and I got it on the 11th. Nice! I did feel bad that they spent over a dollar mailing the little hair piece.
  6. WE DID IT TO OURSELVES! ...by buying MiniMates and loving them. Woo! I like POTA, but don't love it, but I'd be all over these MiniMates. :-)
  7. While I think zombie Wolverine is essential to this set, I can see the complaints. The chest piece is sort of odd and bulky, and the sculpted belt doesn't really make much sense. But I can easily live with it. Hopefully Zombies 2 will also be written by Kirkman.
  8. Regarding the original review... I'm not sure that complaining about Wolverine being included is fair. The included 'Mates are the core group, so a zombie Wolvie is pretty essential.
  9. Hell, yeah, I'd buy these. I'd jump around and do cartwheels with my 250 pound ass if these came out.
  10. I'll believe it when I see that someone has it in hand. But until then, I'm going to remain a skeptic. :-)
  11. Gentle Giant makes Star Wars statues, so that's all sealed up. And Hasbro also has the rights to the Indiana Jones action figures. (A few of them were shown at SDCC.) They're also doing Galactic Heroes styled figures, plus LEGO has the Indy license for construction. So I wouldn't hold my breath for Indy MiniMates.
  12. I didn't see this posted anywhere, but I saw that CoolToyReview has posted detailed pictures of this wave, along with another "Enchantment" 2-pack of Marty and George McFly.
  13. I can't imagine Hasbro doing this ever. LEGO had to stop making their minifigure 3-packs because Hasbro shut that down, and MiniMates are similar enough to LEGO in the public eye, so I don't see it happening.
  14. Hmm, these must be on their way over to me, then. Cornerstorecomics sent me a package, and with the excitement over BSG and Trek, I had forgotten that I got Rocky from them, BSG from AFX, and Trek from Stuckakid. Is 24 still on schedule for Sept. 12?
  15. I don't dislike it as much as I thought I would. When I saw it, I wrinkled my nose up a bit, but now that I have them, and put them in the display, it doesn't bother me hardly at all.
  16. This is the deluge of stuff that I was expecting starting at the end of July. This week, we get BSG 2 and Star Trek 1, as well. I can tack on another week, because I got the SDCC Zombies and Spidey preview last week. Can't wait for She-Hulk next week!!
  17. I went with AFX for my BSG 2 'Mates as well. Shipping was kind of high, but the price itself was lower than other places. It worked out to be about the same, so I'm not complaining. I'm just happy to be guaranteed the chase. I also put the Defenders box and BSG 3 on another order. With the Defenders, we don't really have a choice, so I'm not going to worry about it. Even if it does work out to be $25, these 'Mates look so great, and they're characters that I really want, so I don't mind much.
  18. Serenity. I had forgotten about that. Now that would be a great big box set. I'd easily put out $50 for a 9 or 10-pack of the main characters. (In the 10-pack, add a reaver or the assassin.)
  19. Buffy seems a natural choice. Especially since DST already has the license. I liked the PALz, but only got those because there were no MiniMates. If they did Babylon 5, I think my torso just may rocket off of my hips in an explosion of joy. However, it's a pretty old property, and I'm not sure there's enough interest, even from fans, to get that done.
  20. Imagine if they had the SW license. It's like the ultimate geek convergance in a single line. I think that would make MiniMates pass up ole Mego as the ultimate crossover line. A single display with Luke, Kirk, Iron Man, Batman, Starbuck, Jack Bauer, Mickey, Frodo, and Marty McFly! The very concept has blown my mind. Add in Buffy and John Sheridan, and I think that I'd jump off a cliff out of excitement.
  21. "Doing her tank?" Ha ha ha, I like that one, and I'd never heard it before, either. I'm curious about the roots of it, though. :-) Anyway, I'd be delighted to finally get some Marvel 'Mates. I've only had the preview pack (which I got late) and SDCC Zombies to tide me over since DC 4. I'm starting to jones over here. I even have the spot reserved for them...
  22. I wonder if this will even come out as a regular wave now. After reading Storm's report on the panel, it sounds like preorders were lackluster. (Hmm, could it be because the movie was awful and released ages ago?) I'll get them if they come out, but I'll probably be just as well if they don't. Better they push forward with the other lines.
  23. I find it interesting that on Diamond's BSG product page, the picture for the BSG Minimates link still shows the unannounced Roslyn/Zarek combination.
  24. I'm hoping that Kirk's the variant, and that the Klingon is the "double" figure. Head swap is easy enough to have more Klingons. I personally don't mind 2 Kirks and 2 Spocks. I'd prefer some other characters, but I can deal. (Chapel and Rand seem like good choices, especially for part-swaps with the female uniforms.) Truthfully, I'm delighted to get a Spock's Brain figure. That episode is a legendary piece of camp and cheese, adn that's a figure that will get proudly displayed. If they keep a good clip with these releases, I can do with one more wave of TOS. Though I'm really looking forward to some of the other series.
  25. Hmmm...I think a more accurate name would be "Final Crisis--Until the Next One".
