  1. As part of my trip to a central VA TRU, I saw these on the pegs for the first time. Based on the 7 packs that were on the peg, I believe Ray/Mr. Staypuft and Winston/T-Dog are the extras in the case. It kind of makes sense, since Peter and Egon are in the 4-pack. Still looking forward to the non-gooey Ray and GB1 Winston in the second 4-pack.
  2. I went in to the TRU in central VA today, and they had recently put out a case of the new 2-packs (the other central VA store got them a couple of weeks ago). I counted 11 on the pegs. The one that was missing appeared to be Wolverine/Sabertooth... Bullseye/Moonstone was hanging on the pegs with all the rest. Weird.
  3. Sorry... I just figured it was Minimate Karma for all the empty-handed trips to TRU over the last few weeks.
  4. I just got all 5 delivered from toysrus.com, in a box, via UPS. Someone (I forget who, but THANKS!) posted lated Saturday night the direct links to each set, and I ordered them Saturday around 10:30 PM. I love the re-use of some of the parts, like the Terror Dog feet on the Washington Square Ghost, and the Sand Serrif dress on Library Ghost. I can see the Library Ghosts hair being used for the least requested minimate ever... the Astonishing Aunt May! Seriously, these are AWESOME!
  5. On the plus side, you're getting the figure. I think they finally ran out of incoming cases, as my order got canceled all together. Luckily, AFX is shipping my case plus the Ghostbusters 4-pack, so a few extra endoskeletons won't be bad.
  6. I think the wait is part of it, but mostly it's because I got most of the figures already from TRU. I stopped reading comics before the Planet Hulk story. Maybe bolt-face feels like a so-so variant, kind of like Sabertooth from wave 26, which I don't feel I need to get. Well, if nothing else, I've got a descent AIM army, plus pieces and parts for customs.
  7. So, I FINALLY got my case of series 25 from SciFi Genre... And I am fairly underwhelmed. I picked up the IM/WM and Cap/AIM 2-packs when I first saw them in TRU. Hopefully, ol Bolt-Face will wow me, but now I think I'll just try to sell a couple of sets of 6 rather than save them for customizing. I hate having buyer's remorse on minimates.
  8. It's funny to see the disparity between different stores in the same geographical area. There are 2 stores in Richmond, VA. Both stores got 1 case each of the BSG mates last Wednesday. The one from which I picked up my set had not gotten any of the series 2 Marvel mates, the other store got their's when other stores first started getting them in. Now, a week later, the store that I didn't get the BSG mates from still has the entire case hanging on a single peg, about as high up as you can get up the merchandise display, above the other figures. Maybe the people who want them can't reach them? I find it hard to believe that I'm the ONLY person in the area that collects these.
  9. I had the same issue. I put his head on D'Anna's body and was able to get the helmet off.
  10. Just picked these up in the Richmond, VA store. They had one full case, and I can confirm the posted case breakdown. Just an FYI, I called ahead and checked that they had them using one of the UPC codes posted above, and the clerk said they had 12 on hand. I guess each UPC number feeds up into the same SKU number.
  11. Not reading the current incarnation, I'd prefer the originals. I have a fondness for that first issue... I was actually surprised at the end. That almost NEVER happens in comics anymore. If they didn't do 2-packs with the original and Thunderbolt version of each character, they could do 2 4-packs, one with the Thunderbolts (Citizen V, Meteorite, Songbird, and Mach I) and a Masters of Evil set (Baron Zemo, Moonstone, Beetle, and Goliath). Techno and Atlas would be the PX 2-pack...
  12. Back on the subject of Iron Man/War Machine... and I apologize if this has been addressed at some point. SO, we've got the TRU War Machine, Tony Stark, with flesh hands and feet... okay, I get it... remove the boots and gloves and see why. Plus, the Wave 23 Stark War Machine has the same deco: flesh-tone ankles and wrists, but no flesh-tone hands and feet. So I check the Jim Rhodes War Machine... ... and he also has flesh-tone wrists and ankles, but no flesh-tone hands and feet. I can remedy the hands (Uhura, Classic Tigh, David Palmer), but what can I do for his feet?
  13. Didn't the comic shop release of War Machine come without the bare feet? And if so, does that make "footy" War Machine technically an exclusive? The comic shop release of Tony Stark War Machine did not come with bare hands and feet, but did have the wrists and ankles bare under the boots and gloves. I say 'no' on "exclusive".
  14. Take off War Machine's boots and tell the class what you find. I find that Industrialist Tony Stark likes to keep his high-tech booties dry when walking through puddles. Whodathunk?
  15. I went by mine today, and got the Bullseye/Moonstone, Cap/AIM, and IM/War Machine... Can anyone tell me why there are flesh-tone feet with the IM set? Hands, yeah, makes sense... but FEET?
  16. How does the site work? Meaning, I ordered something from them a couple of days ago, opted for free shipping, and the order still says "waiting", but I figured it wouldn't be a rush because I didn't pay for expedited shipping. Anyone else order from this site before? If so, how was the experience?
  17. Hey, Vox, I don't know how popular this is with most folks here on the MMMV, but AFX is offering pre-orders of the SDCC exclusives. I expect that a pre-order will guarantee their delivery after the show, right? Anyway, for $95 shipped, I ordered Champions, Thunderbolts, Terminator Attack on Cyberdyne, Dark Avengers, and 2 of the GB 2-packs. As someone who NEVER gets to go to the big shows, this is well worth it to me to just get them all in one box on my doorstep.
  18. After much internal debate, I finally broke down and ordered a case from SciFi Genre. I was able to add a General John Conner single to push the order over the free shipping threshold, so I guess that's a plus. I still don't see the point of doing the 4-4-3-1 case breakdown with a series that encourages army building. I'm sure I'll be able to figure out something to do with the extras... well, maybe not the Red Hulk...
  19. Making this set only available through the deluxe set priced itself out of the market for many people, myself included. I think this change will hurt Amazon more than DST. Anyone interested in buying the deluxe version of the game now with a key chain and a statue? Sure, some might. But look at it this way... if Amazon suddenly said "sorry, the collectible key chain valued at whatever won't be included in the set", how many order cancellations would they be receiving? DST will be able to sell the minimates. I'm not worried about them at all.
  20. It depends where you order it from. Mine from Scifigenre were 4-4-3-1, but if you order a case from AFX it is 3-3-3-3. I think there is another retailer that offers 3-3-3-3, but I can't remember which one. Thanks for the info on SciFi Genre... that's the site I was considering ordering from. Unfortunately, AFX isn't offering these by the case, so I may be out of luck.
  21. For anyone who has ordered these by the case (something I'm considering), are the case pack-outs 3 of each 2-pack (3-3-3-3), or is it a 4-4-3-1 pack-out (only 1 of the variant)? If there are online dealers with a 3-3-3-3 pack-out? If I'm goign the case route, I'd much rather get 6 AIM soldiers insteead of 4. Thanks!
  22. Another idea, if you're not in a hurry to get these done, is to use the helmet that the SHIELD soldier will be sporting in the Marvel Ultimates wave... goggles included!
  23. The TRU in Midlothian, VA had them Thursay afternoon. I picked up WM/UJ, Punisher/Jigsaw, and Wolv/Mag. The other packs look okay, but I can wait for the Heroes/Vilains packs for the others. The WM/UJ are (obviously) the best. UJ's mask went on without any trouble; couldn't get Mag's helmet on at all. LOVED the Punisher's arsenal, and even Jigsaw's hair... looks like a piece from the Vanilla Ice minimate prototype!
  24. The variant is on ebay now, cheap I think.
  25. These look okay, and if I can get them cheap I will. The only thing that really stands out is Blonsky... anyone else see the googles and think "time to customize a Dr. Horrible minimate?"
