Give me Sam in his Captain America suit & I don't even care who else is in the pack since I'll still be buying it. It felt very wrong not getting him in that suit in the Walgreens wave.

I got an inkling and I need to put it here for prosperity: I think this set is going to be based on The Last Ronin. Either a two pack with the titular turtle and casey jones or a four pack with those two plus like, I dunno April and Baxter Stockman?
Honestly, I'm not reading the book cause it's too dang expensive, but I'd still buy the heck out of a set.
I would be buying multiples of that set if it is based off The Last Ronin. The story is great. While I dislike detracting from LCBS business; if you really want to read the story but don't like the price point; a quick search online will net you places to read it for free. Personally I'm buying the books since so they can get signed & added to my TMNT collection.

So just make sure I’m getting this correctly, there’s gonna be a
- Gi Joe SDCC minimates set
- transformers SDCC minimates set
- power rangers SDCC minimates set
- Unannouned license SDCC set
And now a TMNT SDCC set?
what year is this exactly?
A good year/Year of the Millennial (assuming we actually get them all & none have to be canceled)

Matching paint to cast plastic is tough. Sorry we disappoint.
No TMNT x Power Rangers planned. No TMNT fighting Cobra Kai, either.
I see no "No Usagi Miyatmoto (or since we are talking 87' theme then the misnamed Usagi Yojimbo) planned" so I am gonna hold out hope that we could get one.
Plus with the upcoming Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles based off Usagi Yojimbo coming out on Netflix April 28th; the character may become more well known.

So I'm gonna thank DST on behalf of my LCBS for the fact that they will be getting quite a bit of my cash now when these drop.
I do lament the fact of no Kat head & the fact that it doesn't look like the weapons can combine into the Power Cannon..... but alas that shall not deter the purchase of no less than 3 of each set.

Probably just me but I'm looking forward to these guys as being almost blanks. There are not a lot of plain pink or yellow arm and leg pieces or crotch pieces about. It a real shame there wasn't a purple, orange or flesh coloured ranger. My biggest hope for the line is that the rangers are actually cast in pink or yellow plastic so its just a case of scraping off the diamonds.
Mind you I dont know how many customisers are about but a few waves of blank minimates in various colours with no decos possibly slightly cheaper would be amazing.
If the line does well enough then you might see purple & orange rangers as those colors were used in later series & also in the comics by BOOM Studios there is a story where Bulk & Skull get Ranger powers & those are their colors.
As for being cast in the colors; I'm not getting my hopes too high on that since it seems like most recent mates have been cast in white & then painted.

isn’t this Mohawk Storm?28 minutes ago, elhonez said:Hellfire Samurai, like Trekker I thought they'd already done Mohawk Storm -- did you mean a different version?
I had not realized they had made her yet so now I know & that means time to go hunting.
Originally wanted to put Franklin Richards on the list since while not an X-man, I thought he used to be classified as a mutant before in past stories & was in a relationship with Rachel Summers in the Days of Future Past timeline.

Mohawk Storm
Morph in his costume from the 90's cartoon
Kitty in her original outfit with the cowl
Wolverine in his Team X outfit
Tie between Maverick & Comic Silver Fox

Not sure if someone has mentioned it but by chance has anyone seen/compared the G.I. Joe construction sets made by Forever Clever to the size of minimates? The link says My Little Pony but it is in fact GI Joe.
https://www.foreverclever.com/copy-of-my-little-pony
I just found out about them by accident & was think of hunting some down to see if they will work. Hoping they will size like the old C3 stuff or close enough with minor mods.

I'm calling Ninja Force since everyone loves ninjas......
If it is; then it better come with bright neon colored weapons to match the aesthetic of the original toy line.

just from looking at minimatedatabase.com, IW Strange's spell hands look less opaque
Thanks for the input. I thought so too but figured I would check incase anyone had both in hand to compare. I was hoping the IW was less opaque for a qc Constantine but wanted to be sure first since he seems to cost more & fewer listings that the other one.
-
Does anyone have the MCU Doctor Stranges from both the Doctor Strange wave & the Infinity War wave & if so could they tell me if the spell hands are the same opaqueness or if the Infinity War is more translucent than the original?
Thanks for any input.

So anyone know what shipping cost would look like to these to the US?
Also did the Spider/DocOck & Sup.Spider-Man/Peter Parker sets also go up to the $16 mark like the Logan & DP sets?
-
Has anyone tried painting the older soft, rubbery plastic of the early mnimates such as what was used on early capes, gloves & head pieces (like the material used on C3 Bat capes & what not)? If so any advice related to paint/sealant brands to use to minimize chipping & not have a sticky finish afterwards? Asking before I attempt a custom I want to make using one of those older parts.
-
I'm probably gonna need added to a list for these sets as well. Still gonna look around but my hopes are low since unless LCBS in the US are getting these then I likely won't find them near me.

2. Nope, it's a TV license. Show is on the air, not going away.
Do TV licenses include stuff that is exlusively on streaming services or just standard television?
If it is the later; then my new guess is The Simpsons. Pretty sure that show is gonna still be playing when the sun engulfs the planet as a red dwarf.

2) Knowing DST’s luck with licenses, it will be The Matrix Resurrections
Well while not a biggie to myself; if that was the license & they did make it to market then at least all the people that wanted John Wick would be able to finally have him with minor part swapping
Also @Smashmaster12 , while it is off-topic; everytime I see the banner at the bottom of your posts I always wonder "do they not know we now have all those characters as mates or do they still need them to check them off that banner?"

It's a great license, but not an expected one.
With the recent addition of a Hasbro item with G.I. Joe........oh snap.......dare I dream......are we getting Jem & The Holograms minimates? Lol
Although on a more serious note, kinda hoping it will be license for The Witcher be it game, books or Netflix based.

My gripe about the increased price is that with the markup I would have liked to see the cards done in a collector friendly package. I get they are going retro hence why it looks like the bubble is glued to a card back but personally I would have preferred the plastic done in a wrap around style so as to keep the card art & bubble both intact without having to slice them apart.

(There is at least one major retailer that simply will not buy assortments.)
Really hoping that retailer doesn't start with a W because if it does then that means I'm likely done collecting minimates. That retailer's locations near me have dropped the ball on collectibles for a long time (well before COVID was even a factor) so I don't trust in them to actually have the stuff anymore.

If they have the ability to pull characters from the expanded universe from the BOOM! comics series; then they got plenty to work with to keep it going with just MMPR Era characters. A set with Drakkon & Ranger Slayer from the World of the Coinless/Shattered grid storyline, the Omega Rangers, if they can still do TMNT characters then a crossover set with the Turtles & Shredder in their Ranger forms from that comic & even more characters I haven't mentioned. Ideally the line gets to incorporate other series past the MMPR Era but well have to wait & see.

Those look frickin' awesome. Definitely buying.
On a related note (as I want to get these pre-ordered), is anyone else having issues getting on Luke's site? I was on it in the afternoon yesterday but since the evening I've been getting the following error message:
This site can’t provide a secure connection
www.lukestoystore.com uses an unsupported protocol.
ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH
Not sure if it is actually something with the site or possibly something on my browser's end.

Monster-wise Goldar, Zedd, Rita & Putty Patrollers should be must makes but they should also make Pumpkin Rapper since they can re-tool the head from Pumpkin King Jack from the NBC mates by removing the stem for Pumpkin Rapper's head but also include some spares as they currently are to swap out onto the Rangers for his attack.
-
@luke314pi Are these gonna be in your shop for pre-order on next Friday or later?
I suppose I should also check with my LCBS before he guilt trip/shames me again like he did with the Joes. Lol

The VHS style packaging makes me think these could be based off the old animated movies.
As for the rangers, I'm kinda hoping it is a 4 monster & Bulk & Skull pack.
