On that we agree. Oh I'll buy it. That Abomination does fit the bill of the bulked up Abomination I've been pinning for since the "Mega Rage" pieces were first introduced. With they'd gone with a different head... but it's not hideous. It falls squarely in the "it'll do" category. But I gotta tell you... I hate the movie Vision design. I hate it. Too darn busy, too unsubtle (yes, okay, we get it, you wanted people to know he's a robot) face is too maroon, and the other colors to muted. I hate it the design. And yet this will be the fourth time I've bought it. Four times. And looking for the fifth one. (last years Civil War SDCC two pack) :gah:

Unless you absolutely need it in package SDCC vision is as simple as taking the new Happy Hogan and sticking any MCU Vision's head on it.

    Edit: and hands! XD

  2. I've said it before - we definitely don't have what I would call a definitive Johnny Storm. Some of the sets are good but I want an all in one - Normal Johnny/Flamed Johnny and enough parts to make him half flamed like DST likes to do. Even if he was his own 2 pack I'd be okay with that.

Then get Ben/Doom - a really good Doom. I like the ones we have but I feel like mates have come a long way and he could be a bit more menacing. Maybe they could also include like a white Cloak for him.

Reed/Sue - hopefully some good pieces for Reed. Invisible woman hopefully still comes with both of those hair pieces from wave 48 as well as a new type of forcefield accessory.  Gotta keep that mullet piece.

Maybe the Controller for the last pack? Eh @Kostisfire? And then maybe Franklin with Valeria as a chase?

@The Scarlet Spider has someone besides @stack32 posted anything in hand about the set? Because his main issues sound more like standard bad QC luck of the draw than a flaw with the set itself. And @TENIME_art 's just having trouble with getting stability with the small base of the hover stands.

I've heard multiple complaints about the QC issues on Facebook as well. It seems like the paint is consistently applied poorly as well as the webbing being visible through the eyes. I believe @TheKrisLyons also had trouble with the food hand pegs fitting in as well. When you're already on the fence about the set because it feels uninspired and then you hear these complaints multiple times it kinda puts you off from getting it.

@The Scarlet Spider Dormammu's could work. But he's too pricey to buy merely for a custom.

Yeah I don't even have one that's not for a custom

"Right here we'll apply the paint... anddddd $20 mistake"

I know this isn't the wishlist thread but I'm still waiting for a supernatural comic wave that coulda been a great release near the Strange movie. Another Dormammu would be great and an updated Blade.

  5. I just don't know why they wouldn't since they obviously have a decent enough relationship to have the KH license for both Vinimates and Minimates, and a Marvel minimate license, as well as making statues/banks for Marvel .

I mean it's not like fans have been clamoring for Maximates for a while now... even the static ones. Those sentinels can still go for a pretty penny on the aftermarket...  if they were to make 8" Vinimates like that for sentinels I know I'd be trying to get my hands on at least 8. I'd probably even get 4" vinis of Wolverine and Spidey and DEFINITELY Hulk, Juggernaut, Rhino, and Thanos. With Infinity Wars so close I don't know how a Thanos Vini could NOT get made if they were able to make them. As well as the fact that people like myself who want bigger articulated mates would probably buy bigger characters in multiple poses if they made them. Like if they made one of the Rhino charging forward as well as one of him rearing up.

  6. So are we never going to see even unarticulated vinimates of huge marvel characters we've been asking DST for since... forever? No (Gi)Ant Man or Fin Fang Foom? Or Sentinels? Just nothing?

  7. @Mirymate that's a great way of looking at it. I'm a bit older than your son but secret invasion and civil war were among my first big events although I have fond memories of my childhood and seeing what I now know of some of Michelinie's stories and Carnage, Shriek, and Carrion in comic book shops. Mullet-esque Parker is one of my favorite Parker looks. Although going back and seeing stuff like Virtual Mortality's artwork and some of the jumpy scenes of the clone saga is eye opening now.

If any of you comic veterans have any good classic trade paper back recommendations Im always game to hear em! Might help me get some new wish list characters.

To be fair, if by exclusives you mean store exclusives, that isn't really DST's fault. I do agree that it's aggravating, though.

I really can't understand a mindset where something like this would be essential. I can see how it would be nice to have, like a prototype or test shot, but it doesn't seem like something worth quitting a line over.

Blind bags* and yeah I know exclusive distribution isn't DST's fault but it's frustrating nonetheless. I agree this wouldn't make me wanna quit but glossing over the tmnt thread we can see just how many minifanatics who wanted nothing else but to support this company yet had to go out of their way to spend their money so hard they quit that specific line.

These sort of promos are kind of shitty for the serious fan base that collect everything because they love the brand. You could argue that if a die hard fan couldn't get these sort of things they may turn around and not bother with the line all together, which would be a very sad outcome.

You mean like the blind BAFs or exclusives that have terrible distribution? DST is much better at distribution than say Hasbro from when I collected BS 6" but it is still aggravating. Sometimes it feels like a chore to try to give them my money when as the consumer you'd think it should be easy to do that... but such are the times we live in.

@NerdyTrev No... Trank's film was a symptom of the FOX/Ike war over the FF. For whatever reason Fox cannot figure out how to make a solid Fantastic Four movie to save their life. Marvel is pretty sure they do. And as a result of the fight over the rights, Ike Perlmutter canceled the FF's book and literally sent half of them into near permanent Marvel Limbo(tm). And that the FF not be included in any new video games. (notice anyone missing from Contest of Champions?) Or that's the really persistent rumor. At any rate, Is it true? Or did the FF's book just happened to be finally canceled for dismal sales just before Trank's movie hit? And the lack of FF related merchandise from then until this year's Mr. Fantastic Walgreen's exclusive, that's just coincidence too.

There was a Mr. Fantastic WG mate?

I didn't take it that way, don't worry! I just saw a chance to post one of my favorite pastas and took it.

Awesome, I wasn't sure. I figured that was the case but context is lost on the internet XD

Last thing I wanna do is bring down a thread too, that's a bummer.
