  1. Here you go: They say it will be a TRU exclusive and will be hitting in a few weeks. (I wonder if it will be in the video game section, the LEGO section or the action figure section?)
  2. Totally agree with Timbo. All the issues I pointed out are reasons for me at least to continue to talk 'mates here, rather than there. If you want to voice your concerns about the AA forum, please continue to do so there. Sorry 'bout this Ady & crew - if you want to delete my post, feel free. I didn't think about the potential for it to get out of hand here. I posted it more to preserve it for historical accuracy more than anything else.
  3. I think you misunderstood him Shane. I know I did when I first read his post. So...you want to be a weather forecaster?
  4. This ought to just about do it for me over at the official forum... http://artasylum.com/forum/index.php?topic=201.0 Quit being the last to know bout AA product. I realize to accomplish this, you'll actually need to get some input/support from AA proper, but instead of just talking about it - maybe you should actually do it - kind of a show me, rather than tell me approach. Actually come through on the things you say you're going to do. Here's a couple of examples. Where are the Cereal 'mates pics Morpheus promised? That was 8/4. Today is 8/15. 11 days later and no pics. When are these going to be shown? Also, Morpheus mentioned that the Darktide contest winners would be announced soon - he did this on 8/2. For some reason, that post is missing now... Anyway - when is this going to be resolved? Those issues make it diffiicult to believe something like this: when you haven't come through on the previous contests and looks at new product you've talked about doing. Seems like you're sliding right back into the old forum way of doing things - promising the moon and coming through with . Here's a 'positive thought' for you to go forward with. If you don't change how you're doing things on the forum now, you'll end up with the same result as the last attempt at running a forum. That, I'm positive about. Oh, and one last thing - it might be nice of you - the current administration and AA in general - to respond to this thread http://artasylum.com/forum/index.php?topic...msg1918#msg1918 - since you're always watching the forum. It would show that you appreciated the efforts of those that built AA's fan base. Of course, you may not want to acknowledge those folks. It's up to you.
  5. Even when they've got momentum in their favor, AA finds a way to screw things up. I really like how Brandon is trying to confirm what DC already announced. Apparently the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. (As usual, the AA forum is the last to know what's going on with AA product. For all their wanting a fresh start and only wanting constructive criticism, they're sure off to a rocky start...)
  6. Aren't these resin? If so, I don't care how thin the glue is, if you yank on the arms/legs you're going to break it. A better choice would be to make a mold and cast new pieces THEN articulate it as needed. <---still pissed that these weren't rotocast. Much cheaper and they'd be articulated.
  7. Morph posted that 8/2. Yet another contest from AA that hasn't been resolved....
  8. WHOO HOO!! More Cap, Spidey, Wolverine and Cyclops 'mates! I can't wait!! I just wish someone at AA/DST would wake up to the fact that these characters have been done to death. Where's Thor? Namor? Bucky? US Agent? Dman? Captain Britan? Hobgoblin? Abomination?
  9. Careful there Ady. Keep talking like that and people might think you're me...
  10. Yeah. Anyway... I wonder what happened to the pics we were supposed to see this week? (from the AA forums)
  11. As much as I hate to say it, don't count on seeing them this month. IIRC one of the admin types over at the AA forum confirmed they were delayed. Matter of fact, here's the thread: http://artasylum.com/forum/index.php?topic=59.0
  12. HOLY That's a ton o' Hulk figs! I'd love to see more of your collection Shane. About the only Hulk items I think I still have are the Super Mego Hulk, the Hulk Hotwheels van and maybe an early Toybiz Hulk (the one that threw the rock).
  13. p.s. the comment is amusing considering your avatar... LOL!! My thoughts EXACTLY!!
  14. If I could buy these 3 individually, I'd pick em all up. Since they're packaged with the Avengers II dvd, I'll pass. (The first one wasn't good enough to get me to watch - much less pay for - a 2nd one.) Still, it is a good idea to get new people involved. Is there any 'mate related promo material included inside the DVD case? Like a mini poster or something of that sort? (Again, that'd be a good idea to get people interested....)
  15. Crap in a hat! PL is here. I've always wanted to ask - what's the PL stand for? I've heard some, less than pleasant suggestions and wanted the real scoop.
  16. Unfortunately another company (who I will not name here, for fear of them coming to spam us...) claims they have the license to these characters. Although, based on how the Top Cow/ToyBiz discussion is going, that may not be entirely true. Personally, I'd absolutely LOVE to see a line of classic fantasy characters - John Carter of Mars, Conan, Red Sonja, Flash Gordon, Phantom, Tarzan, etc. There's a wealth of characters there and they'd sell in places like Barnes & Noble and Borders. I once said Minimates are today's Mego. I still think this is true if you think about the comparisons. They've offered DC, Marvel, LOTR (similar to Super Knights & Robin Hood), BSG and Star Trek (Star Trek, Flash Gordon, Black Hole & Buck Rogers), Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and Bruce Lee (movie properties/famous celebs - Wizard of Oz, Planet of the Apes, One Million BC, Moonraker & Muhammad Ali), Rock & Roll mates (Kiss) and Dark Angel (TV related properties, like Dukes of Hazzard, Love Boat & Greatest American Hero). What I'd like to see are more generic lines, such as a pirate line. (Like these from Chap Mei.) It'd be a no brainer - they don't even need to tie them into POTC - just make them generic enough to work and they'd sell AND pick up some of the free advertising Disney will be doing over the next year. Unfortunately with the production delays we've seen with the upcoming Marvel waves and apparently now, the DC stuff, I doubt AA could capitalize on something like this and fear they'd be out 6 - 9 months after the movie has left theaters and then wouldn't sell.
  17. It's only the licensed properties he's killing. His own stuff, 300, SinCity, etc has been excellent as usual. ASB&R has been a train wreck from issue 1 however. I wish DC would just kill the title once and for all.
  18. Who killed the first Robin's parents? (Here's a hint - he'll make an appearance in the upcoming season of The Batman.)
  19. Wesley Dodds - the original Sandman.
  20. Actually, it was Fruit Brute. Don't forget Yummy Mummy either! More useless trivia facts available on request.
  21. To be honest Xybot, no there probably wasn't. The LOTR 'golden goose' had already been killed, ressurected and killed again by the time wave 3 was announced. Had AA gotten these out while the movies were in theaters, I think we'd be up to wave 5 or 6. Unfotunately they weren't able to do so (for whatever reason) and it limited the window of opportunity to sell them. I'm guessing wave 3 was killed due to a fear that they'd lose $$ by doing so. (Sort of like the Batman Begins and The Batman C3 stuff - but that's a different story entirely...)
  22. Yep - I was using the Alien Agency set to add to my C3 Batcave. Since the move, I haven't had the time or desire to set it all back up yet. Looks good Ady! They also have an Alien Agency Hanger 13 that I've got (sitting in it's box) that'll eventually get built into a hangar for the Batwing.
