  1. I've been swamped with work lately, but I finally got a chance to open my Amazon AoU Set and my Hulkbuster wave. The AoU MLs are a fun sub-set, though I still really want the twins, Vision, and Falcon to go with them. I hate the new cape they've been using, so I replaced Vision's with a spare Toy Biz cape I had. I like him a lot more now.
  2. Mascot Deadpool would be the Secret Invasion entry, being from the SI tie-in issues of his solo series. This seems like pretty much a lock for 65.
  3. Well, I can't actually say I'm disappointed, as I've tried to stop building up unannounced waves in my head, but this line-up does nothing for me.
  4. Today, I'm taking a look at the Kill Bill Deadly Assassins set. Enjoy!
  5. Wanted a slightly more classic Falcon, so I combined some parts from the wave 54 version and Falcon Cap (plus a few other assorted pieces)
  6. Going way back to the early days with Green Goblin & Peter Parker/Spider-Man
  7. Found the Walgreens set at a somewhat out of the way store. Picked up all but Spidey/Electro. Did a quick un-boxing video of 2099 an Venom , for those interested. It's my first one, so I make no promises about it not sucking.
  8. Yeah, the generic piece hurts her just a bit, but I guess getting her at all is kinda cool
  9. And I've rounded out the Wave 60 reviews with Jubilee & Destiny. Enjoy!
  10. Happy to help. Though, one thing I will say: if you're getting into their Aliens line, I highly recommend investing in some stands to go with them. I've never met a line more prone to shelf diving than this one
  11. I personally think an 8 is a decent rating for both. They're nice but not flawless. But that's me.
  12. It tends to vary from figure to figure. I have the entirety of the Aliens line, and so far I've had two Xenos break at the hip joint. However, those were both from slightly earlier in the line. More recent stuff like Aliens Ripley seems much sturdier.
  13. Well, I stopped by Target and Walmart while on the road today. Had better luck with the Black a Series figures (no sign of Phasma or Poe, though) and got a handful of 3 3/4 (still no Phasma. She's one popular lady).
  14. Well, I went to TRU. It was...disappointing. Black Series figures were nowhere to be seen, 3 3/4 were quickly picked through, and the Pop!s were gone in minutes. I managed to get a pop! Stormtrooper and a 3 3/4 Assault Walker (which I bought for the figure included). The staff kept bringing out more and more boxes of the Legos, costumes, and Nerf blasters and when asked about more figures said that they put out all they had and were waiting on tomorrow's shipment for more. Clearly, TRU did not plan this well. On the plus side, I was able to snag an Stealth Spidey & Sandman set, so it wasn't a total waste.
  15. I've not played the game at all, but I did pick up Sam & Quorra, since they were much better than the Spin Master figures
  16. Taking a crack at another Wave 60 set today with Strike Force Storm & Avalanche. Enjoy!
  17. Hi guys- So, I'm sure more than a few people here are aware of my toy review blog, The Figure In Question, where I ramble about action figures everyday. Well, it seems the blog got me a little bit of attention. Eight months ago, I was contacted by Rich Handley and Joe Berenato, who are editing a series of essay collections based around Star Wars media from throughout the years. The long and short of it is that in a few months time, my essay on the history of Star Wars action figures will be published as part of the third collection, titled A More Civilized Age: Exploring the Star Wars Expanded Universe. We don't have an official release date just yet, but I'll make sure to post here once it's announced. Anyway, I'm so excited to be a part of this! If you'd like like some more info on the collections, head to this link: http://hassleinbooks.blogspot.com/2015/08/from-planet-of-apes-to-star-wars-new.html Thanks for looking!
  18. I found Banner/WM yesterday at the Glen Burnie, MD TRU. A little letdown by no extra arms for Banner, but pleasantly surprised by the extra angry head. AoU War Machine is shinier than IM3 War Machine, and seems to have sloppier paint overall. Cheadle likeness seems closer this time, but I don't care for the expression. Pics: (AoU War Machine on left, IM3 War Machine on right)
  19. WWII Cap & Armored Cap from the the Cap TTA set
