Lobsterman
www.printapart.com Okay, this is bad-ass. A hobby magazine article I was reading gave a complete rundown of the process with pictures. You basically create model in a 3-D program, send them the file, and they print it with a polymer inkjet dealie. It captures detail amazingly well – the "pixel" size is .04mm. A Minimate-accessory-sized part ended up costing about $30. A little pricey, but if there's a "must-have" unique piece you need, it's within reason. I'm very seriously considering this for a couple projects...
Cyc
*low wihistle of awe* I was skeptical that they'd be able to do small enough, but the examples are impressive. 'course the 3D modeling requirement is a bit of hurdle for some...
drgnrbrn316
I just thought of something wicked cool to do with this new avenue involving a 3D model of a minimate. Lawsuit, here I come!
bilbofett
I signed up, and uploaded files, but they were jpg and bitmaps. They said they need to be sat or zip files. How do I convert my files for uploading. Thanks for any help.

Graham
Thanks for bringing that to our attention Lobsterman, that definitely looks worth a try. Now I just need to decide what part to make!
Kirby
I just thought of something wicked cool to do with this new avenue involving a 3D model of a minimate. Lawsuit, here I come! Yes... Care to share? All I can think about is a regular minimate, "Scale 1000%," send it in
Fujis
All I can think about is a regular minimate, "Scale 1000%," send it in That's exactly what I was thinking! Although I had the words "life-size" in mind...
Jad
Very cool service, and not outrageously priced. I wonder how many customizers are thinking of recreating LOTR wave 3.... Another thought I had (non-minimate related) would be to make a 3D model of your own head, print it out, and whip up a custom action figure of yourself. 'Course, making that 3D model can't be easy... maxcarnage
I am surprised no one has said the obvious: MINIMATE GLIDER!!!!

wtf this isn't Sparta
I am surprised no one has said the obvious: MINIMATE GLIDER!!!! If I hadn't found the perfect glider already, I would. But now, I may need to 3D model a Ghost Rider bike.
