The Future

Recommended Posts

How long do you see this toy line going? What type of lifespan do you see?

There are so many characters and variations.

Is it a safe hobby to get into now?

Now is about the best time to get into it, the future is looking B) Bright B) there are more waves being released this year than than the last 2-3 together.

I think that the increase in production is a sign that AA/DST are really pushing to make minimates hit the bigtime and want to become a big name brand like Lego or playmobil.

Minimates have grown slowly over the last 4 years, but I think they are now a breakout toy/collectible that will not go away anytime soon.

I envision many more licenses birthed in minimate form and the promotional opportunities with these fun figures is unlimited.

Seems like an odd question to me. Why wouldn't it be safe?

Even if they never make that Aunt May* Minimate you desperately desire, can't you just enjoy the ones that are available?

(*Or your desired charater of choice here. :) )

Definitely stick with it. There many licenses that cover different types of fans. As the guys have said, it's definitely the year and it will be a break out toy collectible. Plus there are many past waves you can try to work on if you ever get bored or just plain need them.

If you had asked that question last year you would have gotten a totally different response. But as of now I think minimates are some of the best toys out there. Check out this review: http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_022307a.htm

Also hit up http://minimatescentral.com/ and http://www.minimateheadquarters.com/ to see what is out there.
