  1. Because you can't have Optimus without him, today I present Megatron. I was really hoping to only make Transformer Minimates that could, well, transform. But sadly, every possible way I could think of to make Megatron turn into a gun looked really silly. Of course, I threw in an alternative. Megatron comes with.... Megatron! Or a tiny, hardly accurate version of his gun form at least. Now, if I make any other Decepticons, they can us ehim as a weapon. Decepticons, transform and somebody carry me! Oh, and I was hoping to get Prime an axe by now, but I couldn't find one for cheap enough. Megatron has his flail thingy though.
  2. Oi, I'm just giving in and making a Megatron that doesn't transform. Of course, this means I'll have to pack him with a lot of extras.
  3. Apparently you're just good at reproducing things. So Luke, I have to ask, as this thought came to me after seeing KGNINE's thread. Was the point of the poster contest to scout out people who can help with the Minimate game? OR was that just a helpful result?
  4. I wasn't quite sure if I should put this here, or in the Marvel board. Anywho, I've always wanted to see the final products of other customizers in person. (I consider Fujis, who will be recieving over a dozen customs for the charity project to be very lucky) Mainly to compare to my own, and just general curiosity. The opportunity finally came when I won the Movie Poster Contest, I recieved Luke314pi's Ultron custom! So naturally I want to review it. As far a I can tell, this one is slightly different than his first custom shown on his website. The quality overall is great. There's only a few places where you can tell the paint isn't quite factory, where you can see a brush stroke, and a couple of tiny chipped areas, probably from shipping. But this isn't a factory figure, and those things are just part of what makes a custom. Ultron blends in nearly seamlessly with other Minimates, and he loses no articulation or playability. The detail is amazing, the lines get surprisingly thin, the details wrap all the way around the figure, and it matches with what a real Minimate looks like, in terms of style. Very reminiscent of the Silver Surfer or Dr. Doom metallic details, while not copying directly. You can tell, if you get really close, that the black detail is done with a fine marker, but it's hardly distracting. Oh, and if you can't tell, this guy is really shiny! This is very well done Luke, and I'm glad I could have this opportunity.
  5. Ultron came in today Luke! Great job, and thanks!
  6. I'm looking at turning the waist so it's sideways, bending the legs forwards or backwards, with knees straight, removethe arms, and make a gun barrel attachment for the head With that, one arm peg could attach the scope, and the other could hold the trigger
  7. I really want to, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to make a Minimate look like a gun. And I don't want to make anything if it can't transform.
  8. Thanks for the comments everyone! Ok, some updates to him based mostly on Jin Saotome's suggestion from the Spawn boards. First off is a gun, nowhere near accurate, but a gun none the less Then is the window and door details added to the sides of the cab, and the lines made their way back onto the trailer. In case anybody was curious how he looked without the trailer And just to show what happens to all the parts that come off for Optimus to "transform" I had a ball making this, and I want to look into some cheap plastic cars to see if I can make anyone else.
  9. Awesome work TENIME! Methinks I need to make some more....
  10. Thanks, I swear I'm working on the Mummy, I really am. In fact, it's done, I just wanna make something to go with it. So for now,I made a truck. Wait a minute.... Choo-choo-choo-cha-chee! Wow! The thing that looked like a truck that totally wasn't made out of minimates turned out to be Optimus Prime! Golly, what a disguise! Credit Obviously goes to TENIME_art and Nervous for both the idea of Transformer Minimates, and the idea that they could transform. Oh, and in case you ever wanted to know what the inside of one of the older 3" Minimates looks like... I call the thing that holds the head and arms "The Matrix" It's best to ignore the old terrible paint app on the trailer in this pic Now how do I make a Minimate look like a gun?
  11. Hmm, seems I just ran into a glicth in one game. I started over and passed it easily. And I found a machine gun, yay! Then I died, boo! And later on I finished it. Great demo Luke! I can't wait for the full thing.
  12. I just gave it a run and for a completely free fan made game, it seems great. Just a couple of questions.... Where does the demo end? After turning a corner, I found myself seemingly surrounded by invisible walls, unable to go any further. Are there different weapons for the punisher to use in the demo? And a suggestion, the pickups like keys and ammo that I found seem a little small, so a person could go right past them without noticing them. Is there any way that these could be made larger, without looking too oversized? Overall, it's great fun controlling and shooting Minimates
  13. I don't know if they were hosted here, but I know at some minimate forum there were some contests quite a while ago, some of which I participated in. For some reason, I recall one that had a transformable Optimus Prime Minimate. Am I making stuff up, or does anybody have a link to the contest I'm thinking about? EDIT: Found the Prime, but I wouldn't mind looking at some old contests still.
  14. God I feel like a jerk. I went on vacation the day the winners were announced. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, to KGNINE and Kiyohime for postponing the choosing of the prizes! Thanks to Luke for starting this contest, and for everyone's votes. This was such a fun contest, and I can't believe I actually won.
  15. Another great contest. Good luck to everyone. Sadly, I'm going on vacation the way the winners are announced :o
  16. Fujis- would it help for other members to contact ABC in any way they can? With, of course, your guidelines of what could and couldn't be said. Oh, and save for some minor technical details, the Mummy is done. Now I just gotta see what I can do in terms of add-ons.
  17. A great custom Fujis! I love the unmasked head.
  18. Woah, talk about a surge of entries.
  19. Overall this is shaping up to look great. At first I did have some questions about the size of the arms and legs, but that was when I had never seen this thread, so now I understand about that whole skeleton thing. Now get started on a DC one
  20. Well, he lost no articulation with the tape on. Now it just has to be painted. Did I mention that I only had CHROME duct tape?
  21. If I can't keep the articulation with actually wrapping him in something, I won't wrap him in anything, it would have to be done with paint. I intend to use a certain type of tape, super-glued in some spots to his body.
  22. Thanks for the comments, and Fujis, I'm glad I could help. On a similar note, I have a nude mummy waiting for me to cover it in toilet paper Just something I felt like posting, because a lot of that will be hidden when I finish it.
