  1. So you are saying that the strategy is to offer fewer characters and cut the waves by 3 characters just because?
  2. I’m feeling this with Marvel Legends Rogue. It drives me nuts though and the only reason I did jump in was because I needed accessories for my Minimates. If you wanted the Jim Lee era, those Minimates would cost you over 100. Want a Hercules? Good luck. Not to mention the Warpath that was packed with X-Factor Angel -both of which have a high price tag. I honestly don’t know the answer. All I do know is people aren’t talking about Minimates and to me that generally means a lack of awareness not preference. If there was a preference issue we would see chatter and it would have a negative sentiment score.
  3. *Allegedly* either way we did get X-men waves during the “embargo”. We just haven’t seen several of the more “popular” things like X-Men TAS. I think people’s discovery of the line is an issue more so than a number but then again excluding three Minimates, Galaxtus Max, and the Thundercats Lair/Tank- I own every released minimate that I want. Based off my previous rant there isn’t buzz off of this brand. Hopefully that changes soon.
  4. Cyclops is always cannon fodder as far as I’m concerned. I’m hoping I’m wrong but I didn’t see any spare arms around him. I also was going to buy multiples for the jacket. I love having a uniformed aspect to characters. No, I use a Starfire hair piece to give her that Uncanny 137 I’m here at my family’s house look.
  5. I think they have gotten better at it, but they have a long way to go. Especially since the 90’s X-men are some of the most in demand and very hard to get. Paying over 20 bucks for a minimate is a bit of a challenge for a new collector imho. There are others that are challenging like the FF.
  6. Yeah, I don’t think the idea is to make a perfect recreation but more of a nod to. If so they would have to paint the cross X-holster onto the figure and he’d be out of the theme. Adding the jacket gives people what they have asked for: an X-Jacket. I hope there are extra hands but it looks like all of the accessories were shown with the figures.
  7. I don’t know. I think the whole 3 packs only to me is a sign that they are trying to increase their profit margins while keeping the price point the same. If so, I’d expect them to be sparse with accessories (Espionage Wave) to compensate for the accessories of Dark Phoenix. If this is the case, the BAF is gone unless they raise the price of the two packs. ??‍♂️
  8. I agree. I think there needs to be a way to access the line that doesn’t seem daunting. I’m experiencing this with my dip back into Marvel Legends. There are so many that were made in the 15 years break that I took that it’s a bit overwhelming and costly. Having an access point (like the recent three pack of Scott/Jean/Logan) made it easier for me to justify getting back in. I think there is a way of getting both sides to agree by having DST make a Marvel Legacy line that could have Two redos or updates with a lot of accessories that had an insert that should the breath and depth of the line with a call out to Luke and the Database. I’m picturing a baby Mezco almost with different hands, heads, and such. Paired with an enemy. Wave One being a Spidey/Doc Ock, Cyclops/Magneto, and Invisible Woman (matching greatest hits Reed) and Silver Surfer.
  9. If I recall correctly Zach mentioned we’d have three waves this year. The GOTG, Espionage and Dark Phoenix would fit the Bill. There are allegedly more with Black Widow and more animated waves coming. As for accessories, everyone in Dark Phoenix has something except for Gladiator and Corsair. The Espionage wave looks very accessory light though.
  10. No. It’s a weird homage to the Cartoon.
  11. Now that’s a wrinkle I hadn’t thought of. I guess it would depend on how well the Multiple Man did and if DST would agree to the lower production run. It would be amazing if they did though!
  12. I sympathize with you but the smaller the releases get the more anxious I get and just want new characters. To me, having a Green Phoenix and a Cyclops is a waste. I much rather would have had any of the following Warstar, Hep, Raza, or Chod.
  13. As long as it isn’t sculpted on I think I can tolerate his presence.
  14. The only way I will tolerate Cyclops is if that jacket isn’t painted on. Not a perfect wave imho but a good one. Also I’d reconsider the BAF strategy. I would happen to guess it’s due to manufacturing cost increases and tariffs so getting rid of it will help hold the line on price. Hopefully the manufacturing delays in China will not impact the release of these too badly.
  15. It really does feel like an achievement.
  16. It may not “fit” the cosmic wave but it still is Emma’s 40th birthday...
  17. Eh I’m still pissed at them so credit stays with you. ? I wish they were here NOW!!! It’s the 40th anniversary so it’s all year long. Really wish Green Jean was a Dark Phoenix update though.
  18. I’m loving the look of the 40th anniversary stuff people are making for Alien. Hope the props are compatible so that our Minis can get so cool gear. Also should probably watch the movie...
  19. I had an interesting conversation about how the high wave numbers make Minimates feel unapproachable to new collectors as opposed to Marvel Legends that just calls the wave by the build-a-figure or by the theme. Thoughts?
  20. Pictures are courtesy of minimatemasterworks and brunozorio.
  21. This is a great wave. Saddened to see the loss of Silver Sable since so many of you wanted her. These three figures pack waves look light on accessories so I’m wondering if they are going to be like the Rescued Wave of TRU that we’re available on Walgreens.Com.
  22. I will humbly disagree on the most important character yet to be made but do agree this wave seems great so far.
