  1. Well, my TRU is officially out of WD minimates. When I went in today there were two scalpers who had a cart full of all the remaining Ricks and Herd Zombies, as well as EVERY Marvel Wave 47 Minimate in stock. They also had all the McFarlane WD figures and all the new Marvel Universe 3.5" figures in the cart as well. Pissed me off to no end...
  2. Well, my TRU here in Fayetteville has plenty of Expendables 1 & 2, Knight Riders, Universal Monsters, Halo Series 5, Halo Warthogs, Street Fighter Vs Tekken, & MVC3 wave 2 & 3, but when it comes to Marvel minimates, were still on wave 12 and haven't gotten anything in since that wave hit...
  3. I had my friend who works as an assistant manager at my Toys R Us do a little research on what her store got in, and how the case pack is configured. TRU Fayetteville NC got in 4 cases. Each case comes w/ 2 shane, 2 Glen, 4 Rick, & 4 Herd Zombies. As of today when I checked they only had 8 Ricks and 4 Herd Zombies left. She checked in the inventory computer and said it looks like they won't be getting any more, and that the warehouse that distributes to this TRU is out of stock. Now I don't know about everyone else's TRU, but due to a huge Zombie lover presence in this town (for ex. we have a 3000 person Zombie Walk every Halloween) my TRU sells out of Zombie stuff (especially Walking Dead) quickly. I hate to be the negative voice in the bunch, but I think DST and AA may have under estimated the demand for these minimates.
  4. I stripped my extra Glen last night of his part and accessories (especially his head) to make another Asian Starfleet Officer other than Sulu, and I have an extra baseball cap. I know this is a very sought after accessory, so I'm going to do my best not to come off as a douche... I'll trade it for a single minimate (Star Trek prefered) but I'm willing to entertain offers for other mates as well...
  5. How's about I trade you it for money? I'd prefer to trade it for some Star Trek minimates. Give it a week or two, and if no one offers to trade up for some crew that I need for my photo-comic, I'll keep you first in mind...
  6. I know I'm beating a dead cat here people, but for those looking for a Shane & Punk Zombie 2-Pack, I have one to trade... TRADE, not sell... And as for short packing, I know when my Toys R Us put theirs out on the shelf there were 2 Shane, 2 Glen, 4 Rick, 4 Zombie pack...
  7. I think your O.K. dude. As long as you don't start selling those exclusives at ridiculous prices to support a business that thrives on the pain of other collectors wallets. I mean I horde some exclusives and hard to find figures, kinda like the Red Shirt Scotties, but my reasons are strictly for creative purposes. I even think it's O.K. to sell your old figures at a profit as long as you use the proceeds for more hobbies or charity...
  8. Well, here in Fayetteville NC we have SCALPERS galore. Most of them are comic book shop owners, or hobby store owners, but they thrive at an astounding rate simply because most young G.I.'s live in the barracks and have a lot of disposable income. Hell, the cheapest comic shop in town is selling the X-Men Minimates 4-pack w/ Angel for $35, straight out the box from Diamond, and this is the cheap comic shop? I honestly believe I'll be seeing waves of WD minimates in his shop marked up to $15 to $20 a pack, this the reason I shop on Amazon for most of my minimates. Plus I know it's scalpers getting most of the good stuff at our TRU because I have friends that work there, and they tell me stories of the same 5 or 6 guys who come in and drop huge amounts of cash on entire waves of stuff in triplicate or higher. Most of the times, I'm able to get what I want because my friends will usually call me and tell me when something I'm looking for has come in, unfortunately they can't hold anything for me because that's a big no no with their manager, but on days I'm free I usually luck out... But see, here in Fayetteville we actually have a larger problem, and that's the toy trader. I don't know if it's one guy, or multiple people, but we have this guy who will buy a toy, take it home, meticulously remove the toys from the package, then put a cheaper chinese knock off or older figure back in the package, seal it back up and return it. Fortunately I've been a toy collector for years and can spot the culprit toy on the shelf in a heart beat, but it just saddens me to think that some kids grandmother thinks she's buying a HULK / Wolverine Marvel Universe 2-pack, and when her grandson opens it he's disappointed because it's a Thor action figure w/ Luke Skywalker. The worst part is, most of the employees that work at Wal-Mart, TRU, and Target (where this guy or guys strikes) don't even care, or have the toy knowledge to spot his work. This guy is the truest type of scum... Oh, BTW Jeff, Shane is wearing a Baseball Cap that says police (easy enough to remove, just use some Brasso). Just thought I'd mention it if you wanted to trade...
  9. I just checked eBay, and the TRU Shane & Glen are popping up more and more, but thanks to the first scalper scum, all the prices are at $69, $74, $80, one at $30 (w/ 3 bids already), it's ridiculous... But I went back to my TRU today and picked up another Glen for asian head swap, and a Shane. As much as I want to put Shane on eBay, I can't look at myself in the mirror if I do it. I refuse to stoop to their level. So for thos of you on this board, I have a Shane and Punk Zombie (MIP) to trade. Check the Wants / Haves pages for a list of figures I'll trade for. I'd prefer to trade for Red Shirt Scotties if possible (from the Star Trek series 1 **2 inch** wave). But I'm always open to other trades as well... http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?showtopic=10402&st=80
  10. The thing that got me about the $75 price tag was that it actually had bids... Here's the auction for those of you in disbelief... http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Walking-Dead-MiniMates-Series-1-Toys-R-Us-Exclusive-RARE-HTF-Shane-and-Glenn-/200835753769?pt=US_Comics_Figurines&hash=item2ec2be6729
  11. Hey guys, I have a question? Should I consider myself lucky to have found a complete set of WD mates at my local Toys R' Us? Are they really going to be that limited and rare? Last night I was browsing eBay and Shane & Glen's 2-Packs are selling for upwards of $75. If their really going to be that rare, I should probably hurry and snatch up another Shane & Glen if I ever plan on doing customs with their parts. I just don't see a TRU wave being this rare. Is it just impatient people on eBay? Maybe Zach could give us some insight into the availability of this wave...
  12. Just got back from my local Toys R' Us and they had so much Walking Dead Minimate goodness... Soooo Happy... Still can't wait for the specialty shops wave to come out, but I think I've been anticipating this wave more than those. Glen looks so awesome, as does Shane and Rick. Planning on picking up an extra Glen so I can swap out the head for my Star Trek story (having Glen aboard the ship will be so sweet). On a side note, if anyone is having trouble finding these, I'd be more than happy to pick some up and send them your way, as long as the supplies last. I'd prefer to trade for Star Trek Series 1 (2 Inch) Scotty figures (I NEED RED SHIRTS, so much so that I'm willing to trade 1 Scotty for 1 WD two-pack).
  13. I know I'm a noob to this site, but I'll enter for $#!+$ and giggles... And if I win him, I'm going to repaint him just to hear toy collectors around the world shriek in terror!!!! MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...
  14. Went ahead and ordered four more from BBTS to modify into other Super Deformed Starships... Thanks for the heads up Zach!
  15. I pre-ordered my Enterprise months ago from BBTS, but I plan on buying upward of 5 to 10 Enterprises when they hit my TRU (if they even make it here, my TRU is bad with Minimates inventory, we never get anything, and if we do it's only 1 case). I plan on doing some hack and slash conversions to make them into ships from the "Starfleet Technical Manual", like the Saladin, Hermes, or Ptolemy class ships. My goal is to eventually put together enough TOS Minimates to do plenty of custom figures, and put together a bi-weekly comic strip. But I'm always happy to see TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT Minimates for new stories and temporal mishaps... In the entire 5 pages of discussion I was kinda sad that there were a few fan favorite characters left out of the discussion that would make excellent filler for two packs with major players in the Star Trek game. I mean if everyones suggesting people like Lore or the Grand Negis, why not characters like Commander Barkley, Andy Dicks EMH, Lt. Daniels, Random MACO's, or the most under rated character of DS9 Ezri Dax. Hell you could do an Ezri variant with the cool sniper rifle and eye piece from DS9 episode "Field Of Fire".
  16. I can't believe I missed a Thanos figure, but looking at the packaging on Minimates Database, it looks like it's the really old packaging from before I started collecting...
  17. Most of my wish list is for other Minimates franchises, but I do have a small collection of Marvel Minimates, as well as a small list of a few I'd like to see get made... #1. Rocket Raccoon (old 80's GREEN costume, and new GOTG uniform) #2. Thanos #3. Madelyne Pryor (Goblin Queen Version)
  18. I've bought both the AMT Bridge model, and the Shuttle Craft, and both are perfect scale. I haven't finished putting them completely together, but I have played around putting my Minimates in the seats of the shuttle and so forth, and for those wondering, it's a perfect fit. I just need to buy a 2nd AMT bridge so I can finish off the walls all the way around (not a big fan of the open side, but maybe my wall filler will be removable for photo's sake). Also for those interested in having a diorama for the Motion Picture Minimates (I know there's only two, but I've been swapping parts with extra Deckers to make more officers), there was a "Star Trek The Motion Picture, U.S.S. Enterprise Bridge Punch-Out Book" that came out in the 70's that's perfect scale with Minimates as well. I own the book myself (and it can be found on Amazon and Ebay for those brave enough), but haven't had the courage to punch out the parts and put them together yet. The only reason I know the scale is correct is because there was a guy on eBay a year or two back that was using it to display loose Minimates for sale. Here's some pics of the bridge and the book I found...
