  1. Oh, and it's one year later and there's still no plans for a Squirrel Girl Minimate? I really thought I'd left the movement in good hands, but it seems my trust was misplaced.

They just confirmed that Squirrel Girl will be showing up in the new Spider-Man cartoon this season. So that's something, at least...

  2. It's an open question as to whether they'd take Angle and Hardy, since they still have the same problems that caused WWE to move on from them in the first place. I'm really hoping to see Angle come out as the payoff to the Rusev angle, though. Maybe a one-off appearance at the Rumble?

Dudleys I could see them using to spice up the tag team division (heck, or the Hardys for that matter). Dudleys vs Usos? Dudleys vs Wyatts? I'd watch those.

I agree with you on the Dudleys.

I think the biggest value to Jeff Hardy & Angle would be in merchandise - action figures, video game appearances, t-shirts, Jeff Hardy arm garters, Jeff Hardy / the Usos face painting kits...

  3. I can see the WWE picking up all of their old talent again (Angle, the Dudleys, maybe even Jeff Hardy), but only for short-term contracts like Jericho or RVD. Like Hellpop said, I can't see any other TNA talent being of any interest to the WWE right now.

  4. Parker Brothers is owned by Hasbro, so Hasbro controls all the rights to ROM. The fact that they're making this toy means that they either see some value in ROM merchandise and licencing out the property, or they need product to renew the trademark.

  5. I'm guessing it's too soon to put the title on Reigns. I expect Reigns gets to keep feuding with Orton for now, then maybe Triple H at SummerSlam.

Cena wins the title on Sunday because he's the safe choice. And maybe sets up Brock / Cena at SummerSlam.

I'm guessing Ambrose cost Rollins his chance at the briefcase, causing their feud to continue. I would have picked Barrett to win, but with his injury, who knows?

  6. I disagree. Some people probably do want Taco Bell-flavored bubble gum.

Yes, but that leads to many questions:

    - Why?

    - And what would it taste like? Taco? Burrito? Refried beans? Taco and Doritos?

To sum up - MST3K Minimates would be a great add-in for a Rhino Video MST3K dvd set. Thank you.

  7. I always saw it as two box sets:

Set 1: Joel, Tom Servo, Dr. Forrester, Gypsy
Set 2: Mike, Crow, TV's Frank,... Torgo? I dunno. I guess it should be Pearl, but... nah.

Of course, if you do the bots as micro figures, you could indeed do it as one box set (Joel, Mike, Dr. F and Frank). Anyway, who are you trying to kid? You're not making Mystery Science Theater Minimates. The show's been off the air for ten years! But I guess it can't hurt to pitch it... sigh. When I'm crying myself to sleep after the next AskDST comes out, I'm blaming you, Oat.

(btw, Boyd made some great customs ages ago. No Crow though.)

Wanted to post Hellpop's lineups in the new thread for reference. The fourth person in the second wave would be a challenge - Torgo would be great, but getting the rights would be a pain. (Doing a Mike in Torgo Costume figure - that could work).

For future box sets, there's the forgotten robots Cambot and Magic Voice. And the characters from the Sci-Fi years - Pearl Forrester, Brain Guy the Observer, Professor Bobo. And the more obscure characters, like Mike dressed up as Jack Perkins, or the Devil Dogs, or Dr. Forrester's original partner, Dr. Erhardt.

What about accessories? What about a free-standing silhouette of the bots in the theater? Maybe Joel can come with the Movie Sign button? Dr. Forrester with a toxic movie reel?

And why stop at Minimates? Who wouldn't want a MST3K planet logo bank? Or banks of any of the bots? Satellite of Love-shaped ice cubes from the MST3K ice tray? Gypsy oven mitt? Tom Servo gumball machine?
