Amazing Spider-Man #149 and Professor Miles Warren, the Jackal?

hey Boyd, tell me about it man .at least i know you have good taste:D ...what is crazy, i made three different versions, and one was with the same cape, and almost the same face...that would have been funny i think...
You know what they say - "Great minds think alike. And sometimes dress alike".

Correct! Take it away!

It's not procrastinating - it's impulsiveness.

What's the name of the Vision's "human" identity?

Wow, I feel like I showed up at the dance wearing the same dress as someone else. I knew I should have went with my Roy Orbison custom...

I never found the Street Fighter Minimates at retail back when I lived in Austin. I could find LOTR mates, Marvel mates, even the old Star Trek mates. But outside of the GameCrazy exclusive, I never found a store that had the Street Fighter mates. I ended up trading or ordering the figures I needed.
The lack of availability really hurt this line. I'm interested to see if the new 4-packs at TRU help the line, or make a convenient way for AA to get rid of excess stock.

The two-inch body is good, I think. The bigger 3-inch body would make them look awkward, I think. I'll wait and see what the sculpted heads look like.
I see a lot of custom possibilities from the Tony artwork:
- Arms, legs & tail for an easy Tigra custom
- Chest piece for Bishop
- Head for Man-Wolf (with some modifications)
Now I must figure out if a Toucan Sam could be used to make a Vulture...
-
They're $1.97 a piece.
And 'devil - PM about the Thing.

Has anyone else seen these?
I found these at Wal-Mart in the cheap toy aisle. There's 24 different Marvel characters that are like mini-statues, but with oversized heads, like they should be head-bobblers. The interesting part is that they come blind-packaged, with apparently crappy case ratios. I've bought seven of them, and gotten two duplicates - Archangel and the Thing.
And as a bonus - they come with gumballs!

Are there designs/plans for Minimates out there that, for one reason or another, did not get made?

It is a pretty neat roster. I'm happy to see Vixen, Black Lightning, Black Canary and Red Tornado in the League.
Not happy to see the return of Arsenal's "Red Arrow" suit. And I want to see a better shot of Black Lighning's costume before I decide it's horrible and start a campaign to bring back his disco-suit and afro look.

What characters would you put in a Civil War line?
- Cap / Falcon
- Iron Spidey / Modern Iron Man
- Returning Thor / Hercules

Saw the Penguin mate at WWC...he is slightly shorter than normal mates
That's good to hear. Makes me curious if there's a different body type for Penguin - could be useful for other short characters like the Guardians of the Universe.

No power girl pic...
There's no Dr. Fate picture either. Obviously they have run off together...

Bake sale?

Random thoughts:
- We send Ady out on a "media junket", where he can get interviewed at other web sites and help spread the word. (I have no idea what web sites - something pop-culture related, but not just Minimate. People's blogs, maybe?)
- Print more T-shirts with the URL? Maybe a T-shirt giveaway?
- The exclusive Minimate Multiverse Minimate?
- More publicity for the customizing contests. If we target the other action figure forums, we might be able to attract new customizers who could enjoy doing a simple Minimate custom.
- Add a permanent link from my own site (probably with the redesign)
-
Ares, the god of war and a major foe of Wonder Woman. And he looks good as a Minimate.
-
Hmmm, a Nightcrawler / classic Storm two-pack sounds good. Make it happen, Target!
-
My thoughts:
- Curious to see how Penguin will look next to another Minimate. He should be a little shorter, but with that top hat, I'm afraid he may be too tall.
- Very impressed that Deathstroke comes with removeable helmet & hairpiece.
- Booster looks great. And it looks like Skeets is attached to that special piece Booster is wearing around his waist.
- Ares = very nice
- Beetle = very very nice - I was not expecting the bug-eye goggles.
- The only thing that bugs me is the fact that Batman's cowl is printed on, and doesn't have a cut-out for his mouth.
-
Shanester - have you seen the variant for the Hulk Icons they showed at SDCC? It's the figure you were hoping for.
