Also not a winner, except to my mom. Thanks, mom!

Damn, I want that chase Dark Phoenix.
Weird assortment of loose Miniates decorating the display, though.
-
The Legion has been in the works for quite a while. Still had to rush to get them done on time, though...
And I'm not using a CMS on my site - everything gets done by hand with Dreamweaver. Though I do like the looks of Drupal.
-
If we're lucky, we'll see the following:
- Wave 4 and 5 of the DC Minimates
- New Battlestar Galactica Minimates
- Rocky Minimate prototypes
If we're not lucky, we'll see this:
- Cereal Mascot Minimates
- Speed Racer wave 2 Minimates
What we'll probably see instead:
- Madballs
-
Did they start making edible hats in England?
-
Big markdowns being taken on select toys on Amazon right now. For example, the Indiemates 4-pack is now priced at $4 and qualifies for free shipping on orders over $25.

Me x3. I knew they were stiff, and I still broke them.

It must have been driving you nuts to be on the last day of the 2 week Custom Con.
For a while I didn't think my entry had made it in time. I sent it in on the last day to register about 30 minutes before the deadline. I really need to stop procrastinating sometimes...
question...for the face decals, are they colored, or clear over painted heads? asking because the color match is perfect. In some cases like Brainiac and Scarecrow are color printouts - I sometimes spend a lot of time making matching paint. Other ones, like Sinestro, use water-based decals, which is a lot easier.

Thanks everybody! Glad you like them!
My favourites are Gorilla Grodd - how the hell did you make him?Started with an LOTR Aragorn figure, and chopped off the legs right under the knees to give him that stubby look. I glued the feet to the leg stumps, and them used Sculpey to make his feet. His hands came from a KISS Minimate to give them a larger look, then Sculpey was used to blend them with the arms. His belly and facial hair is all Sculpey. I'll have better pictures when I add him to my customs site.
I've been thinking of using a spare Leader for an easy Sinestro custom - now I'll have to retire that idea as anything I do will pale in comparison to your professional quality stuff....I thought the same when I saw Mini-Myte's Sinestro custom a year ago. Give it a shot - you could create something great.
Yeah I knew of those onesI just thaught it would be cool to see old timey Robin Aquaman etc
No plans to do any of the other characters from the Super Friends right now, sorry.

CustomCon 15 wraps up today, and finally displays my entry. It's a group I've been working on for a while - the Legion of Doom from the Superfriends cartoon. They'll be added to my custom site in a few weeks, but you can check them out now:

I was checking towerrecords.com this morning, and noticed that they have pulled all toys off the site. No crazy deals on discounted Skrulls online, unfortunately.
-
And the Women of the DC Universe Challenge went live this morning, and Minimates were well-represented! Check out some of the great entries from Luke314pi, Antacost and myself.
Women of the DC Universe Challenge here.
Some other great figures there as well, including some neat Lego people customs.

I asked for the thread - I'd better post:
"1 Year After" Robin / Two-Face
Supergirl / Mongol
Golden Age Green Lantern / Golden Age Starman
Adam Strange / Phantom Stranger

Anyone want to try and guess what Wave 5 might be?
-
Hurray for new offical release dates! Hurray for Wave Four!
Barbara Gordon Batgirl - big-ass hurray!
Bane - hurray! (wonder if he's going to be 2.5" size?)
Steel - hurray!
Cyborg Superman - big-ass hurray!
Golden Age Flash, Wildcat, Deadman & Spectre - hurray! They can go right by my customs!
Really, while I'm happy to have those four as offical Minimates, I would have bet Wave Four would have more Batman villians in it. They're really mixing it up with their character choices.

I'll say it again: Iceman!
Iceman thanks you, too.
-
Thanks to everyone who entered the contest and made some wonderful pieces of art - I'm surprised I won.
Thanks to eveyone who voted for me.
And big thanks to everyone involved in the contest.
Everyone want to do it again next year?
-
I've yet to find a comic book store in Iowa that sells Minimates. I'll be buying the next waves probably online.
-
Right there with you, Cloneme. Broke two hip joints on the Target Nightcrawlers trying to work them loose. And the Colossus mates all came with their chests on backwards. The quality control on some of these mates seems non-existant.
-
Now I realize what's bothering me about Storm's face! With that haircut and expression, if you squint, she kinda looks like Bea Arthur from the Golden Girls.
-
Juggernaut - Nice. Lots of great new detailed pieces. Juts not thrilled by him. Maybe he should be bigger?
Beast - Disappointed by the fact the face does not look like Kelsey Grammar. But love the details (the hair / beard combo, the painted toenails)
Jean - Love it. They nailed her appearance, love the new hair and the skirt.
Wolvie - Definitly a new claw design. The face is a great cross between a traditional Minimate face and Hugh Jackman's face. Also love the over-the-top sideburns. While it's yet another Wolverine Minimate, I like it.
Colossus - His face looks squished together, like the weight of his hair is crushing his skull.
Storm - Hair, cape, gloves - all great. The face bugss me a little - like she's got some sort of arrogant smirk.
Overall - great likeness of the movie characters, lots of new sculpted details - this is a decent line-up. Hopefully this inspires them to do great things with Wave 15.
-
Congrats! And glad to hear that the family is doing well!
-
I'm not advocating throwing em on top of the shelf, and getting em down later when they stock new ones, but yeah, I pretty much am.
That's better then my plan of hiding them in the Frozen Food freezers...
-
Deadpool's right - it's Susan Richards sitting there, mocking me with her presence and retro hair style.

Thanks, guys. I wanted to try some new things with the redesign - glad to see they're well-received!
