Just a thought: if the name involves "saving" or "endangered," would it make more sense for us to be picking endangered animals? Is the idea is to bring awareness to species that need to be saved, rather than just animals in general?

Good point .The species that currently do not need 'saving' are all those Hudson River'bank dwellers' especially those that used to feast greedily off the rest of us ,especially along Wall Street . The bear 'Stearns' is the first to become extinct
