I believe the UK Region 2 box set has the digitally enhanced , final director's cut mini-series & Series 4. This includes previously unseen footage & is packaged with a Limited Edition hologrammed collector's tin . Only 125,000 of these were ever produced! Series 4 as you know was never shown in the US & included the controversial 'cross-dressing' episode ...............'Cylons in Nylons'

Precisely Dan. Weevils in boiler suits ......why ? Did they arrive in Cardiff wearing a boiler suit ? A weevil is an alien with the intelligence of an animal,treated like an animal yet kept fully-clothed to protect it's modesty.

Torchwood has become one of the most entertaining Sci-Fi shows on TV although I haven't caught the season's finale yet. Russell T. Davies has breathed new life into the whole Dr.Who franchise after years (decades) of inactivity & lethargic false-starts. I have one problem however which does not stem from homophobia which I do not suffer from . The problem I have is the amount of scenes & references thought necessary to highlight Jack's sexuality. I find this all but incomprehensible ,..... Jack's gay or bi or whatever.....am I bovvered ! We all know that Torchwood has been infiltrated & not just by aliens. If sexuality of the characters is supposedly so important to us (the viewers) why has every alien the Doctor & Torchwood ever encountered been obviously lacking in genitalia? I am not the founder member of 'Dangly Bits for Daleks Club' or 'The CyberGirls' nor do I want any particular relationship between caring people minimalised but this is so hypocritical. Dr.Who mates.............but with whom?

The only thing that stinks about this set is that Iron Man is using the Apocalypse boots from Series 19. He'll be way too tall with them.

I think that's the problem, her acting skills ( or lack thereof) leave her incapable of being anything but Catherine Tate.

So Season Four starts tomorrow. I have really mixed feelings about this series. I love Doctor Who and think it is one of the best shows on tv, but I absolutely detest Catherine Tate and her stupid pointless character, Donna. Her Christmas special was plain awful, she played an awful character, and tried to steal the show, failing miserably. She and Tennant were on Jonathon Ross tonight and she barely let Tennat talk about HIS show. I'll watch this series most likely, as I love the show, and Martha will be in it at some point, and she was a fantastic assistant. I can't help but feel that Tate will ruin the show.

Gotta speak my opinion on BSG.

I collect all minimates. Having never seen a BSG show until yesterday, I bought them in the past with an open mind, thinking how cool the show must be in order to put a large number of toys in the market.

And then the show was watched........................................

After painfully wasting 1 hour of my life on bad scripting, bad acting, and bad effects, I now will add BSG into the crap pile of shows that are terrible that should have never had a toy line (i.e. Buffy, Angel, BSG, Dr. Who, etc., etc.).

I will buy them all because I collect, but I now will do it scoffing the whole time I am shelling out my duckets.

I know I am obviously a minnow amongst sharks in this thread, seeing that most of you are fans of the show, but before you eat me up, I had to put it out there...

I do however enjoy the opinions of people in this forum who have one thing in common ....... Minimates.

If.... you make it to 40 & can still enjoy toys, then I can assure you that your life was not meaningless & you will be able to 'Relax' . I picked up a Maximate Sentinel today. I'm well pleased. It's been in my LCS for around 2 years for near on £40. I went there today and looked in the sale area to find it for just a tenner. Needless to say I didn't hesitate to buy it.

Absolute deal! Trouble is one Sentinel (especially when the first cost a tenner) is never enough :biggrin:

I am old. I occasionally 'hang out' with 'old people' who don't have a clue about my 'revered' collection . They look at 'the revered' & then they smile. Smiling is OK but smirking is BAD. My first mates were Captain America/Absorbing Man & Wife-beater Wolverine/Juggernaut from Forbidden Planet in Edinburgh for about 6 or 7 pounds each..and my initial reaction was...Meh!

So I left it for a couple of years until I found some remainder C3 sets at my local TRU and was hooked on the DC goodness,

So now I'm up to date with all DC 'mates (God rest their little souls ) Trek 'mates and BTTF 'mates and I'm totally addicted!!

Ain't got them on display though, just in a big old Tupperware box...The wife looks at me funny when she catches me sniffing the plasticky goodness within...Sorry, guilty pleasure, Yeah I'm a little weird!! lol!

It's odd to see people list TV shows that I have never even heard of but that's a consequence of my age & where I live. To be honest I looked at my list again. It must be said that 'what seemed great at the time' often seems a tad disappointing even though it's 'digitally re-mastered,enhanced etc.etc.' when you watch it again for the first time in years on DVD. This is especially true IMO with comedy.I watched Monty Python as a teenager when it first aired on BBC2 & needless to say 'pissed myself'.Many years later when I was in the US ,people were continually referring to Mon Tea Pie Thon & 'how much we love British humor in the US' , trouble was by then I was into the 'Young Ones' & had almost(almost) tired of repeats of 'Fawlty Towers'! I think the point which I'm perhaps trying to make is that despite our memories of 'best ' & 'great' shows there is nothing quite like watching a new episode of a great new show. The show that currently personifies this is Lost,it's cult,incomprehensible & ridiculed in some quarters but to me it's class. If I had the chance to watch anything I wished for on TV tonight,it would be a new episode of Lost. Yall reckon Sawyer knows TM2 Dinobot?
