  1. Definitely a place that likes keeping Minimate collectors happy. Thanks be to Limited Edition!
  2. I got my box of Mates in the mail yesterday, but haven't had any time to crack them out and play with them! I intend to do so tonight, though, and good times will be had. Thanks!
  3. I'm unfortunately pretty disappointed with the Mark II and III Mates because of their helmets. The pegs that hold the mask on extend too far into the helmet, so if I try to put it on the Mate with the mask on, the helmet won't go on all the way. But if I take off the mask and then put the helmet on, the mask won't plug in securely because the head's in the way. So I either have skin showing at the bottom of the helmet or I have a mask that sticks out and falls off fairly easily. I figure if I tried to trim the pegs, then I'd still have the problem of the mask not staying on, now because the pegs would be too short. That said, the normal people Mates are as good as can be expected and the Mark I and Iron Monger are absolutely fantastic. I'm bummed because I was particularly looking forward to enjoying the Mark III, but it can't be said enough how good Mark I and Iron Monger are.
  4. Wow, big thanks to TBT and the judges! I'm totally gonna go through everybody's pictures and see what you all did. I skimmed through earlier and really liked a Q-Bert one I saw. Now that the contest's over, I wanna hear everybody's stories of stuff that happened while they were taking pictures. For example, my mate actually broke while we were taking the "cute girl" one (his lower leg fell off), so I used that lower body in the "eaten by another toy" picture and stuck the severed leg in my werewolf toy's mouth. Congrats to everybody!
  5. Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm cracking along, picking out the best ones and getting ready to send, and my computer decides to crash from the sheer brilliance flashing across its monitor. They're sent now, and hopefully close enough to that wire...
  6. Who else is taking this right to the wire?! (Just finished taking them, now I need to sort through it all.)
  7. Ready for the challenge, Vincent Venti returns with a cool new jacket and some heat.
  8. Belated thanks here, sorry about that (every time I come on, I end up getting sucked into the new games in the arcade). Anyway, I got a U.S. Agent and I'm stoked about that, since I didn't have one yet. Thanks!
  9. I rather like them, though I can see where a lot of the complaints are coming from. I do think it's strange how a few years ago, everybody was saying how it'd be cool if we got some civilian Mates to use in scenes and dioramas, and now people complain about all the civilians we have. That said, I agree that Blonsky there looks a little dull, but his outfit's kinda cool. As for the big characters here, I find it interesting watching the evolution of the "big" parts on Minimates (from the first powerhouse chests to now). I kinda like the shoulders on Hulk's chest piece in a way, because it helps take care of the toothpick limbs problem that some Mates have suffered from when they have a big torso. I agree with everybody about the feet, though. And it'd be nice if regular Hulk had the battle damaged Hulk's hair, 'cause that Spock cut looks strange on him. Also, glad to see it doesn't look like we have any sculpted heads here. That's my biggest peeve.
  10. Big thanks to everyone involved in making this happen. You rock!
  11. I would very much appreciate having my name put in the Toyfair Mate hat. Thanks!
  12. I was looking forward to the Season 3 sets, this sucks. I'm glad to have what I do, though. The first two seasons of the show were the best, so they already made most of my favorite characters. I would have kept buying these if they did seasons 4, 5, and 6, but it would be more for novelty value (hey, a Peter Weller Minimate!) than love for the later characters.
  13. I was just reading through this to see what people were saying about the stuff I'd already seen, but then... Doctor Who Minimates. Holy crud. Dreams do come true.
  14. So today I finally got around to getting the 4-pack with the Darkstalkers folks at Toys R Us, and it cost me a whopping $2.48. Seemed like a bargain, I'd say. I also got Racer X with his little car for $1.60. So yeah, anybody who's waited this long: I think now's the time to grab them.
  15. From what I've heard and seen, these are now showing up in decent numbers up here in Washington state. I have an extra set on hand if anybody needs a hookup, just shoot me a PM if you're interested.
  16. Ready for the weather and anything else that might come his way, I give you Vincent Venti.
  17. I generally get Spidey villains and X-Men characters, so there's a lot for me to love here. Minimates are going to make me poor.
  18. I wouldn't be so sure about the head holes, guys. I just got him out to make sure I wasn't remembering wrong, and the Spidey from my Spider-Man/Gaijin Wolverine Target 2-pack DOES have a hole in his head. That said, you're all quite right about most bald Mates losing the hole when they make it to production, so fingers crossed that that's the case here. It's really my only complaint with these, otherwise they're pretty much perfect.
  19. Sad to see the hole in the head there, but otherwise they look just like I expected (which is a good thing). I'm looking forward to these, even if they're just more Spideys.
  20. I might go, it all depends on my financial situation when the time comes. We'll see!
  21. Tony! Michelle! Mason! All great. There's a jacketless Jack next to Andre Drazen that has a better facial likeness than the first Jack we saw, looks pretty good. I'm surprised to see a second Nina, but she's just as well-done as the first. And Jack on the stretcher from season 2? What a strange choice. I really want Jack in his black long-sleeved shirt with the bulletproof vest and badge around his neck, hopefully that comes with the season 3 set.
  22. Can't say I saw THAT coming! Pretty cool, and I'm hoping for a hoverboard at some point. What's with Doc, though? He looks furious!
  23. Well, if we're talking about Target variations no matter how small, I don't think I've seen anybody mention this one. My Target Sandman's left arm has a less subtle transition from sleeve to sand than my original Sandman. The sand coloring just starts at the end of the sleeve instead of it blending from green to brown. I can't take a picture of it right now, but I thought I'd mention it and see if anybody else noticed.
  24. I really like the accessories. Three different phasers along with the tricorder and communicator. I also like the little cuffs on their pant legs (which I'm aware were on the old ones, but everything's cuter in 2" scale). It's great to be getting most of the heavies right away, as far as I'm concerned. Of course, I'd definitely want wave 2 to include Sulu, Chekov, and Uhura (maybe Nurse Chapel too, why not). And here's hoping this line keeps going and we get some Next Generation mates too. In addition to wanting the main seven, I'd really like an extra Patrick Stewart head to put on my blue suit Professor X to complete the movie look.
