  1. Not only is handsomedevil a handsome devil, he's also got the hook up on the Sigma 6 figures in Cincy. I checked the Tri-County Target today as he suggested and found my Destro. I wouldn't have Destro or Hi-Tech right now if not for him. Handsomedevil, you're my hero!!!!!
  2. Aw, you beat me. I've been hitting many of the local Target and Wal-Mart stores and even the Harrison Ave Kmart but so far no luck. Hopefully he'll turn up soon.
  3. Finally set up on Nintendo WiFi. (didn't want to fool with it until I got moved) So far, I've only registered my MarioKart game. I'm no snaker either, (though I should probably learn how to so I can do it when playing against others who do it) so if you are you'll be kicking my ass quite easily. Here's my MarioKart friend code: 300725 921105 It seems that a lot of people here have a DS. Maybe there should be a sticky for friend codes. It would be easier than having to search through 4+ pages of random video game discussion.
  4. It's sad to me to see how the past few years have gone. It really looks like the whole Minimate craze is starting to pass. I've seen a lot of people selling off their collections in recent months, and I'm not seeing any new product coming any time soon. It's depressing, really. The Rise and Fall of Minimates 2003 - Minimates fever hits its full stride. Exclusives galore, Gold Spidey, and an abundance of Minimates sold by dealers at Wizard World Chicago. 2004 - Still going strong, but two series of Marvel mates have some quality issues. C3 debuts with much fanfare, but almost immediately falls on its face, also due to poor quality. Fewer comic stores ordering Minimates, and the selection at WWC is not quite as good as 2003. All current figures except for variants are readily available. 2005 - C3 dies. Marvel seems to fix the quality issues, but where the hell are the Minimates? No local stores carry Minimates anymore, online sources are dwindling, and only old pegwarmers are found at WWC. DST gives away Silver Spidey, but still can't seem to generate any interest in the product. End up buying series 10-11 from DST booth at WWC because I can't find them anywhere else. 2006 - Still no Marvel Minimates since 1st half of 2005. Street Fighter debuts with the best quality Minimates to date, but nobody is carrying them around here. End up buying on ebay. Marvel series 12 & 13, promised for months, are still nowhere to be found. New DC mates line is announced and promised to have 3 series out by the end of the year, only to be suddenly pulled to be "resolicited" at a later date. Only Minimates seen at WWC are displayed at DST and DCD booths. NOBODY is selling them anymore. What the hell happened?
  5. Well, the good thing is that I've seen Arctic Duke in a few other places but no sign of Hi-Tech or Destro. I think the reason Hi-Tech lasted so long is because that Wal-Mart is about to be closed to move into their new location down the road and maybe people aren't hitting that one as often. Still, it does seem kind of funny that someone would buy Jungle SE (none on the shelf) before they would buy Hi-Tech. Oh well, their loss is my gain.
  6. I can hardly believe it, but I didn't make it over to the Colerain Wal-Mart until TODAY, and there sat Hi-Tech's happy little ass with his fancy flashing beacon. I did not expect him to still be there. Nice figure, but I'm not sure I like the Hip-Hop shorts he comes with. Now I just need to find Destro and I'll be set for a while.
  7. Man, I've been looking for that everywhere! Someone stole it out of my backyard. Please have it returned ASAP. WOW, that is incredible! Where was that taken? Legoland? I really need to visit if it is. Thanks for posting.
  8. Yeah, I suppose you're right. Thanks for the info on Hi-Tech. I'm going to try to get over that way today and see if he's still there.
  9. Hey HD, did you at least buy the Hi-Tech? I don't have him yet either. And you better stay away from my side of town. I don't want you stealing MY Destro when it gets here.
  10. I'm also totally uninterested in the small Sigma 6 stuff. However, I'll be checking for the new Duke figures next time I'm out. Nice to see new stuff hitting the shelves. Where the hell is Destro?
  11. I briefly considered buying the first one way back when it was first announced, but decided it was too much money to spend for what I'd be getting. I'm also at a loss as to how he keeps from being sued. Seems to be doing OK though. All of the figures I've seen have sold out.
  12. That's one of the CTHD Minimates, though his name escapes me. I hated that line. Because of the costumes, the leg articulation was practically useless.
  13. I have the Rocky Kubricks, and would much rather see them as Minimates, especially if they do the two sided heads with normal and "kicked-the-shit-out-of" faces. As long is the property covers all Rocky films, I'd be on board for sure.
  14. Just bought mine last night. It was on sale for $7.48 at Target. I just couldn't see paying $15 for a short movie and 4 reissues with different faces. For half price, it's not so bad.
  15. Take me off since they are going to be available in Chicago. I'll get as many as I can since I don't think we will be able to meet the demand with the current supply.
  16. Johnny-Come-Very-Lately here would like one if supply permits. Also, if any of you guys at SDCC can find out if DCD will be giving these out at Wizard World Chicago or not that would be helpful. If they DO plan to give them out at WWC, take me off the list. Also, I'll try to get as many as I can there to fill any requests you guys might not be able to cover. Just a thought.
  17. I voted the purple monkey dishwasher option because I didn't see the option that fit my desire. I want him because I'm collecting all superhero Minimates, not all Minimates in general. The sad thing though, is that if I don't get one I won't be nearly as upset about it as I would have a year ago. This past year has been a bad year for Minimates and my interest has dropped slightly because of the lack of new figures. (not counting the excellent Street Fighter 'Mates of course)
  18. Ugh. No respect for the original block figure. Thank LEGO that we have Kubricks and Minimates, I say.
  19. Hey, if you don't want the minifigs, I'd be glad to take them off your hands. I have a bunch of common Minimates I'd be willing to trade. PM me if you want to get rid of them.
  20. Ha! I wonder why they did that. Anyway, good luck to both of us on getting ahold of these sets.
  21. Man, I'd REALLY love to have one of these. Too bad they aren't going to be in Chicago too.
  22. Wow, army building on Sigma 6 toys? That can get expensive. I saw the quad also, but didn't buy it yet. Looked pretty cool, though. You don't happen to have the ninja cycles, do you? They have been marked down at Target, but I'd like to know if they are any good before I spend any money on them.
  23. I'm not interested in blanks, (which is why I'm selling mine) but if there were generic characters I'd be very interested. That's one of the things that I love about LEGO. You get the occasional movie/ superhero lines like Spiderman, Batman, and Star Wars, then you get generic townspeople to be terrorized by the villains and rescued by the heroes. Good times.
  24. To any of you who are on the fence about this line: buy them. Especially if you liked C3. LEGO's line is way better than the C3 line was, and the minifigs are really cool. Sure, they're nowhere near as posable as the Minimates, but they are still neat little figures in their own way. Besides, if articulation was all that mattered, we'd all be singing the praises of a different block figure that will not be named.
  25. AA is purchased by Shocker Toys and Minimates are discontinued in favor of the much more articulated and highly superior Shockinis.
