  1. The blue on Batman is ruining him for me, otherwise I may get him, The Joker, and Harley. I loved the game, but that Batman is way off. Hopefully they fix him by release time. But, as K80 said, I'm not too interested in this scale anymore either. If only we could get these by Hot Toys. Man, I'd be even more broke!
  2. Man, that looks nice. Never heard of Blitzway, though. Have they done any other figures?
  3. That's reassuring. I know that with something like that you can't go crazy with the poses, but it's nice to know you can actually enjoy the figure. I really like how Hot Toys goes back and reworks things when something isn't quite right.
  4. Let me know what you think of him when you get him, Shane. I think Leonidas looks incredible, but I'm a bit concerned about the rubber muscle suit. I wouldn't want him if I couldn't risk posing him from time to time.
  5. Haha! You got sucked in, HD! Don't feel bad, though. You are not alone. I started with the DX Joker, and it's been one expensive after another. Next on my list is the Don Corleone figure. Gotta have that one. I almost got a Shaun and Ed a couple months ago, but got outbid in the final seconds. I really only want Shaun, but if it's a lot deal, I'll take Ed too. I hope you don't like money very much... you won't be seeing much of it anymore.
  6. I also have a DX Batman coming, from our very own Luke! From what I've read elsewhere, Hot Toys changed the material on the abs to a harder plastic. I can't wait to get this bad boy in hand. As for Vader, I'm waiting for an ESB or ROTJ version. No particular reason.
  7. Man, yet another reason I love this forum! HAHAHA!! Where else can you find a bunch of grown men (and women) who collect block figures debating the pros and cons of rooted hair on a 1/6 scale action figure, or 12" doll, if you will? You folks make me proud to be a dork!
  8. I am not a huge fan of rooted hair in most cases, but I believe it's a necessary evil when you have a long haired character. If it's medium long, like the Joker, or the upcoming truetype with the "Gambit" head, then I want sculpted hair all the way. However, with a character like Black Widow, you just have to have rooted hair. Without it, you will severely limit the range of motion for the head, which is not good for someone who opens their figures. Do I wish there was a way to not have rooted hair at all? Yes. Unfortunately, I don't see any way to make a good looking figure with usable articulation without it.
  9. I already preordered (and prepaid) my T-800 through alteregocomics. It's awesome to have a figure preordered and to know that it's already paid for as well. So far, I've got the Mark IV, DX Batman, and T-800 prepaid, and War Machine is preordered. Just don't tell my wife.. hee hee!
  10. Got these at a local flea market and figured I'd share. Who would have thought that jewelry boxes would make for good 1/6 furniture?
  11. Isn't there a POTC Chow Yun Fat figure by Hot Toys as well? OR did I dream that? With some of the dreams I've had lately, it wouldn't surprise me.
  12. I really like the BR head as well, but the moving eyeballs on the DX Joker are hard to beat. Both are great heads and, as K80 said, far superior to the V1 head. As for the costumes, the DX offers some upgrades. DX has suspenders and a longer chain, opposed to a belt and a smaller chain on the first release. I've seen comparison pics of the two,and the DX does look a little nicer. It comes down to what you're willing to pay. I got a DX joker for 135 + 10-12 shipping from Urbancollector.com. I saw the V1 Joker for $60ish on another site, but the name escapes me.
  13. Wow, huge improvement on Firefly! If they fix the loose joint issues, I'd love to collect the GI Joe line. And nice score, Leroy! I'd like to get those two, myself.
  14. I want an Obama, just to make him portray a simpleton character when I make some picture stories. lol Leonidas does look good, but I don't trust those rubbery arms. I'm too paranoid that they may break. I got the Comedian from ebay, and he's pretty cool. Very nicely done by Hot Toys.
  15. I was thinking the same with regards to the Mark III, but now I'm thinking how cool (but expensive) it would be to get all the Iron Man armors. Decisions, decisions.
  16. My LCS never got the set, so I don't even have one to complain about. I'd like to get a Vulture eventually, but the others I can live without. Already got a few damaged Spideys, and the original Black Cat and Doc Ock.
  17. Here's a poor quality shot I took with my cell phone. The lights are incredibly bright, especially on the chest. Incredible!
  18. Went to pick up series 34 Minimates from my LCS today, and he happened to have a gently used Hot Toys Mark III Iron Man for sale for $125! I had been debating on the regular or Battle Damaged versions, but for that price, I decided to go with the regular Mark III. To make it even sweeter, I had a $50 store credit which I had earned from past purchases. So, after it was all said and done, I walked away with a very nice Hot Toys Mark III Iron Man for just over $80!! As a little unexpected bonus, as I was talking to him about his comic store owners meeting he attended last week, he showed me a Joker Blammoids figure which he said was given to him at the meeting. We had talked a few months prior about how much we hated them. In fact, he refused to carry them in his store. I had mentioned to him that if I ever bought one, it would be The Joker. Well, he remembered that conversation, and just said "Here you go!" Marvel Minimates series 34 + cheap Hot Toys Iron Man + free Joker Blammoid = a pretty awesome score!!
  19. Yeah, that was hilarious. What a great video!
  20. Got my Hot Toys Blade on Thursday, and opened him tonight. WOW! Anyone on the fence about buying him, I say go for it! DX Joker is still my favorite, but Blade is definitely no slouch. Some day, if I can find the time, I'll post some pics.
  21. I'm not going to mess with the IM2 stuff either, but War Machine will be the exception. I want the BD MKIII, and War Machine. Then I'm good on the Iron Man stuff. He looks freaking sweet!!
  22. I really couldn't understand why so many people were going insane over Moss Man. Mattel has reissued, or is planning to reissue, EVERY figure that has been released to date, including the exclusives Faker and King Grayskull. Why they would have figured Moss Man to be the exception is beyond me. I agree that the sellouts are waaay to fast, but realistically, if you want the figure, you ARE going to get it. You just may have to wait till the reissue hits. I still believe that the max quantity ordered should be 2 for the first week, then unlimited after that. It would give more people a chance to order the first time around and would possibly extend the shelf life to a couple hours as opposed to minutes. All you guys who missed out, don't give up. I'm sure you'll get your chance.
  23. Man, that War Machine is going to be insane! Looking forward to a full body shot.
  24. I sold all my mates a couple years ago, and it cost me a lot more to get back in than it was worth. All the mates I bought at retail, I was paying double or more to get them back. I gave up on trying to replace all the exclusives I had. I've got a decent collection now, but it's not like it was before. Like others said, if you are done, sell them. If you aren't done, hang onto them because you'll be sorry. Getting a job is the first step. That will help you make everything else right. Pay back your debts. Karma is your friend.
  25. Nice one, Shane. Couldn't happen to a better guy.
