  1. It's like 8 years old I think. And available for $16.99 on eBay, and that includes shipping. Along with the only Ms. Marvel 'mate released to date, it's a solid deal.
  2. Isn't the first Ultron 'mate pretty close to the original design?
  3. I know that name value has a lot of weight, but there's also something to the notion of looking cool. Do you think a lot of people are hardcore Ghost Rider fans? I would argue at this point in time there aren't many left, but he looks cool, and I would argue that Moon Knight and Punisher fit into that category as well. There is something about their design that is inherently striking, so while they may need some bigger names in the pack with them, I think they definitely are desirable characters. Punisher probably has a lot of fans based on his character as well, but if he was the same character without that design, I don't think he would have nearly the popularity that he does.
  4. The moment the Howard/Dazzler 2-pack became a reality is the moment that argument got thrown out the window IMO. I completely agree, and I made that point when I saw it, but Zach seemed to disagree.
  5. They've said in the past that even with an A-Lister in the two pack they can't make "just anybody," although that seems to be an "eye of the beholder" situation.
  6. I can deal with the constant recycling of the big names if it allowed us to get something new, for example the way they mixed the X-Men with the Brotherhood recently was an excellent idea. Why can't they do the same thing with the Avengers and the Wrecking Crew or the Masters of Evil?
  7. I really wish we could just get one wave for Civil War, and have it only be the characters that are new or in different looks. That being said, I have a better shot of having Zach call me at home and asking me what the next wave should be than not getting a massive rollout for Civil War.
  8. I agree with every point you made. In all seriousness, there are some costume variations I would actually like to see, where I start to really have a problem is when we get remakes of specific costume versions when we already have 19 versions of a character. I have no affection for the disco Dazzler costume, but I know a lot of people love it, so no harm no foul. But now it's getting to the point where people want remakes of the 90s X-Men because they didn't get them the first time, when we already have multiple versions of those characters in different costumes. How would those remakes be any different, other than the fact that you would now have them when you didn't before?
  9. I just assumed that since he appeared in the movie he was covered, I guess that's not always the case.
  10. Please, no more.... I sympathize with people who are missing parts of their collection, but if we keep remaking ones that aren't new anymore, we'll never get anything new.
  11. I understand why those three were chosen, the alternate realities that they represent are some of the more well-known, I just think that if we hadn't gotten them already they would be a lot more exciting.
  12. I thought it was a pretty good lineup overall, aside from Hulk and Wolverine, and they aren't even bad choices, they have just been done before in those looks. I would have swapped out Iron Spider for Noir Spiderman, but overall I think it was a good assortment. I don't really know if that Ultron is different enough to stand out, but that is not a big deal to me.
  13. I imagine that Hot Topic will be all over the Nightmare Before Christmas series. As for Daredevil, I give up. It's just more frustration than I need for something that is supposed to be fun. Damn his eyes. Damn his britches. Damn his duckpond.
  14. I think the reason the lack of plans for Daredevil 'mates bugs me so much is because ever since DST started making 'mates for the movies, and specifically the MCU 'mate, they have become more and more common, to the point where some years we get more movie waves than comic waves it feels like, and while I prefer the comic waves more I truly have to commend DST for having the most coverage of ANY company in terms of characters featured in the movies and while there have been some misses, mostly in the Thor waves, we have gotten almost every major character and supporting character in the MCU films, and whenever the Marvel series of films ends, we will be able to have a gigantic universe of 'mates from those films, and since I truly doubt that we will ever see a film series on that scale again, that is remarkable. But Chuck seeming rather uninterested in the Netflix shows now leaves a huge hole in the universe of the films, and he referenced all of them, not just Daredevil specifically. I can't make him have more confidence in the Netflix shows, and I can understand to some degree hesitation over the first season based on the number of civilians, but season two is shaping up to be full of costumes or otherwise named characters, and I think it has at least as much legitimacy as the Wolverine movie waves. If the Netflix shows never get 'mates, then the MCU 'mates will still be impressive, but they will be very incomplete from now on. It's just odd to see a corner of the Marvel world that has been very well represented so far be left out in the cold.
  15. Wouldn't it be easier to put out a Stan Lee minimate through the Kevin Smith 'mates? I imagine he would be covered automatically by the Mallrats license.
  16. I can only speak for myself, but I feel like I'm responding more to his comment about the shows being difficult to pursue because of the way they are released, that says to me that there is a lack of faith in the Netflix shows as a whole more than "it's something we might look at one day." It seemed to say more about the concept as a whole. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it.
  17. If the motion of the ocean isn't getting through to Chuck, is us asking a question really going to make a difference? If so, I'll submit one, but I would think that the writing on the wall would carry more weight. When I joined Netflix they sent me a survey asking me why, and I gave a one-word answer. Daredevil. So they know how I feel, short of pre-ordering product that doesn't exist yet or creating a Kickstarter, I don't know what else I can do to get through to Chuck.
  18. And yet somehow army building Ultron drones is still proving very difficult. Exactly.
  19. I think that based on the performance of Storm over the last 15 years, most people don't even realize that she is supposed to be from Africa.
  20. Curse those numbers! How will we ever know if anything is successful unless we can put a specific number on it!!
  21. If we still don't get Quicksilver out of this after the huge miss the first time, I will not be pleased.
  22. I agree, that's why I'm hoping that maybe if we start talking about it now maybe someone from DST will see what we said and will do something different, or at least factor it into their planning. It probably won't make a difference, but I feel like this movie has a lot of characters with interesting looks that deserve to get made, and I would rather see a large spread for this than for Civil War.
  23. Singer has hinted that we're going to see a lot more comic style costumes this time around.
  24. With the leak of the trailer, and now this official image, I think it's fair to start discussing what could be for the X-Men Apocalypse 'mates. Also, something that I've been thinking about with these is that there are rumors that this may be the last X-Men movie in this continuity. Which, if true, would mean this is our last bite at the apple for some of the characters from this version of the universe. Obviously there will be more films afterwards, but who knows what they will be. I hope that DST is mindful of that and we are able to get a respectable representation of this film's characters. I know it is challenging with these large ensembles to get everybody in, but with the number of new characters appearing in this film, I would rather see this film get a spread like Avengers just got, than have huge holes in the assortment. Especially considering I feel that Civil War will definitely have a large release, and we just got almost all of those characters a year prior. What are your thoughts?
