  1. Well, I pre-ordered mine from Apple.com but missed the first round. My should be here around July 14th. As soon as I get it we can hit up some Facetime. I'll keep you posted! neo
  2. Actually, the best way to save is change horse. If you get attacked and see you are fixing to eat it, if you hit the back button and change the horse it saves right then. I've been out hunting with dozens of Pelts/Meats to sell and then died and lost all of it. But learning to switch horses has saved me several times.........especially from those Metal Bear Solid Stealth Attacks! neo
  3. Wow, I couldn't disagree more. Now, this is my first Rockstar game, so that may have something to do with it, but almost everything you mentioned were the things I loved the most. Shoot, I've rode around for hours just looking for things to hunt. I love that Animals, of all kinds, are everywhere. What other game can have you shooting Beavers, Bears, Wolves, Deer, Skunks, and Owls?!? I loved that. And the random encounters I would actually INCREASE! I loved that I would be out doing boring fetch missions (Red Sage, Raccoon Pelts, etc) and out of no where I have to round up escaped prisioners or chase down someone's buggy or helping the poor men in this game that keep getting their wives hung. I would like to see MORE of this with MORE diversity in the next game. That stuff just made the world come alive to me. Again, this from a Rockstar virgin. Maybe it's been repeated so much that fans are less interested, but I loved it all! Your one point I would agree with is the Light/Dark side idea. I do like working to a certain end when there is a pay off. You are right, whether our Honor is at the top or the bottom the game still ends the same way. Two different paths with different missions and endings would be a nice way to take the sequel. neo
  4. Played the Demo..............no thanks! Also, just as a public service announcement, they released a Co-Op pack for Red Dead today on XBL. It's 8 new co op missions, and it's FREE!! neo
  5. Well, I had a great weekend. With Red Dead behind me I was looking for something to play over the weekend. Being Father's Day me and my Brother-In-Law always hit up some Co-Op stuff. Last year it was World at War, previous to that it's been Halo games. Anyway, I picked up the first Gears of War game for us to play. I've never played any of the Gears game and honestly I have never had any interest in them. But we gave it a go on Sunday. I have to say there was a slight learning curve for me to get comfortable. It's very gritty and sensitive, but after several hours we have really started to get into it. We are going to work our way through 1 and then 2 so we can be ready when 3 drops. I also have to say I was very pleased to find a content filter that cuts out the blood! Other than that I've still been spending time with Mario Galaxy 2, SoulSilver, and ModNation Racers. And I will be honest, I'm really eyeing that new Toy Story game.....has anyone picked it up yet?? neo
  6. I've already shared my thoughts on the E3 thread, but I am on board. It was the best part of E3 and is now #1 on my most wanted list. It cannot come soon enough for me! neo
  7. I was sitting here thinking, a lot of us talk alot, but I don't think I have any of you on my Facebook page. So, if you'd like to get social with the Multiverse community please share your Facebook pages and let's be friends! You can hit me up at: facebook.com/neolego neo
  8. Well, E3 is finished. I thought I'd give my last thoughts. MS Press - C+ -Microsoft has put all of their focus on the Kinect. And, while as a company you want them to be behind their projects, this one just doesn't seem to work. The menu stuff is amazing! You walk into a room, say "Xbox On" to start your machine and then wave your hand at the screen to log your profile in. That is just amazing. However, they spent a hefty time showing games that just have NO appeal to me as a gamer whatsoever. The only game, as of now that I will spend money on is Kinectimals and that's just because my 4 year old daughter is going to LOVE that game. Still, as a gamer Kinect offers nothing to me outside of menu interface. That being said there was some good. The Black Ops and Reach Demos were cool. Fable III and Metal Gear Rising also looked great. And the inclusion of ESPN free for Gold Members was fantastic. But, in the end, with the less than average showing of Kinect, which by the way STILL doesn't have a confirmed price point, it was a poor showing by MS. Sony Press - A- -Sony game out this year with something to prove. With momentum on their side it was time to remind everyone that is was the Playstation the ushured in our current love for games and they still have some fight left in them. I have to say that I do love my Wii. There is a lot of shovelware on the system, but the games that do things right make it worth it. Wii Sports, Mario Kart, Warrioware are great examples of motion controls being useful and fun. And now, the Playstation Move brings a better version of the Wii Remote to an HD, 3D, ONLINE console. I can't stress enough how much I want to play Tiger Woods, in HD, with my Move. I am so much more impressed with the Move than I am Kinect. But what made Sony press so great was the constant stream of A title. Killzone 3, InFamous 2, Little Big Planet 2, Gran Turismo 5, Dead Space 2, Metal of Honor, Portal 2, Twisted Metal......This are all games that gamers want to play. They also announced several exclusives that are huge incentives to pick up Playstation versions and that is key in the console war. HOWEVER, all of that was great but there was one moment that made this press conference maybe the single best of all time.......Kevin Butler! If you don't know, that the dude from the new Playstation commercials. I will tell you what, Sony was completely off my radar until the Price Drop and new Marketing Ads with Kevin Butler started over a year ago. He gave one of the single greatest speeches I've ever heard (comical of course) and stood as living proof as to what a GREAT marketing pitch for a product can be. Honestly guys, if you didn't get the chance to watch the Press Conference, go to IGN and watch part 2 of Sony's conference, you have to see Kevin Butler! Nintendo Press - A+ -Nintendo did the one thing this year that I thought was impossible. They catered back to the gamer and what made us play Super Mario Bros in the first place. Technology meets Game Design. HD graphics are nothing if the games designed for it suck. And Game Design doesn't mean nothing without innovation. And Nintendo set to prove they are still in the Game Making business. I would venture to say that Nintendo has never been a great home console company.....but have always been a GREAT software company. You can complain about the SD graphics of the Wii until you are blue in the face, but then you can boot up Mario Galaxy too and realize that if the game design is great, it doesn't matter what it's played on. We got a new Zelda, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby, Goldeneye, Mario Sports Mix, Metroid Other M, Disney Epic Micky, Golden Sun, and they all looked fantastic!! Factor 5 is doing the new Donkey Kong and it looked amazing, just like the Donkey Kong Country we all grew up on. Kirby, on the other hand, is a brand new take on our bouncy friend. It looks like Kirby mixed with Little Big Planet and Classic Kirby, and it all looks outstanding. The new Zelda, while the Demo was very flawed, is brand new graphics and innovation and all the floor demos say it works spot on. And then, when you had your plate full with all of these fantastic games, Nintendo slams you in the face with the 3DS. By starting with a Kid Icarus trailer that knocked my socks off. They they start spouting out games, Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts, etc. And, on top of that, all the reviews from the floor say the 3D works, just like Nintendo said it would. I will end like I began, saying that Nintendo, IMO, did the impossible. They reminded hardcore gamers that the best games on the market are still made by Nintnedo and can only be played on the Wii AND that Nintnedo does care about future innovations and proved it by sending their next handheld into a new dimesion! Overall I thought the conference was one of the best in years. Final notes: +Nintendo 3DS +New Kirby and Donkey Kong +Zelda: Skyward Sword +InFamous 2 +ESPN on Xbox Live +Halo Reach Demo, Space Battles!! +Kevin Butler +Twisted Metal +Sly Cooper Collection +Metal Gear Rising +Call of Duty Black Ops +New Xbox Slim -No love for Download Games (XBLA, PSN, WiiWare, DSiWare) -No Wii HD -No Last Guardian -Kinect -Zelda Live Demo -No Release Date for 3DS -No Playstation 2 Downloadable Games -Playstation Plus, not enough details, not sure what it is... -No new Rare game that was supposed to be announced for Xbox -No Half Life News It really was a great show!!! neo
  9. I too finally beat Red Dead Last night. It was amazing, seriously one of the better games that I've played this generation. I loved every minute of it. Without sharing spoilers, there were about 3 suprises that I didn't exactly see coming and I think the game is better for it. Well done. The story is over but I'm still not 100%, so that is my next goal! As for a sequel, I feel confident Rockstar will do one. The game is great and has sold very well. Honestly, I wouldn't really change much. I think the AI needs to be upped a little, especially with my flippin horse. He would litteraly run away from me when I was running at him to get on.....it was annoying, lol. And of course, the Bugs. But overall I'd just like to see the story continue just like it is, with more Redemption coming! Oh, and I would like to see some more varied towns. I liked the drastic difference from Armadillo to Blackwater. And we know our "Hero" is going to be looking to the east. It would be cool to keep the Map we have and then maybe add an Eastern Map that you travel to that has more technology and almost a different world for the time. Maybe also a west coast Map where you can do some Beach stuff. And finally, the ability to SWIM!! I can't stand games that don't let you swim, it frustrates me to no end. "I'm running on a dock trying not to die and turn to sharp, fall into the water and swim to safety.....right?!?!" Come on!! Assassin's Creed fixed this in part 2, I'm hoping Red Dead does as well. Well, there is still the 100% to do and the Multiplayer, so Red Dead still has a lot of legs. I'm also still working on Galaxy 2 and I'm picking up ModNation and InFamous over the weekend, so I'll be busy. neo
  10. While I agree with this generally, the "rehashes" as you put it are not only being polished for the new system but are also adding 3D. This isn't like the DS release of Mario 64. They have polished all of the games with updated visuals AND added 3D capability. No matter how many times I've played Metal Gear 3 or Star Fox or Ocarina, playing it again in 3D will be a completely new experience. Outside of that you have a good mix of new games. Kid Icarus being the top. But Kingdom Hearts appears to be a new game. Pilot Wings is completely new, taking place on Wii Resort Island. But, in the end, we are dealing with Nintendo so we are going to get sequels that everyone knows. Mario Kart, Paper Mario, Animal Crossing.....and that's OK, because there will never be any better software support for a system than Nintendo's own 1st party stuff. I'm actually suprised I seem to be the only one this excited. I've talked to a friend that was at the show and he's played the system and he says IT WORKS. He said it was the first time, in a long time, that he's looked at something and went "NO WAY"! He was a huge skeptic heading out to the show and now he can't stop talking about it. That is enough for me to jump on board. I simply cannot wait. There is nothing else at the top of my list. The 3DS has actually overtaken the iPhone 4 as my most wanted item right now. Here's hoping we don't have to wait unil NEXT holiday. neo
  11. Not even an Ocarina remake? Ocarina of Time. In your Pocket. Available to play at any time. In 3D. I think I am in love. Seriously, how can you say you don't like the games. Do you even know what they announced?!?! -Kid Icarus Uprising -Mario Kart 3D -Star Fox 64, Remade in 3D -Ocarina of Time, remade in 3D -Kingdom Hearts -Metal Gear -Pilot Wings, Brand new game in 3D -Nintendogs + Cats -Street Fighter IV -Paper Mario -Animal Crossing -Rock Band -DJ Hero **All images courtesy of IGN Seriously.......that's enough to make my head explode!! By far this is the best announcement of the conference!! neo
  12. Ah, today was a better day. Not excited at all about anything Sony had to say, but Little Big Planet 2 and InFamous 2 will both be excellent games. Nintendo on the other hand COMPLETELY BLEW ME AWAY!! And that's suprising for as bad as they have been for so long now. New Kirby, New Donkey Kong, New Zelda, New Icarus, New Golden Sun.......Seriously, I just said all of that!! More importantly, the 3DS is FLIPPING AMAZING! Dang, I can't wait to get my hands on that thing. And honestly, I'm less interested in the 3D as opposed to the Widescreen, graphical machine that it's going to be. Kid Icarus looked FANTASTIC! Even in Trailer form, it looked better than most Wii games that I've seen. Plus they have confirmed they are Re-Making Ocarina of Time and Star Fox 64 for the 3DS. Seriously, they can just cut the 3D out completely and give me a sweeter, more powerful DS with those games and I'd be happy!!! I honestly didn't think Nintendo had it in them, but I was impressed! neo
  13. So far, I'm OK with it. MS had the first major conference and there were good and bad. I am more looking forward to Sony and Nintendo though, because I feel they have the most to prove. Here are my thoughts on the MS Press: Pros: +ESPN Free Live Streaming to Gold Members (MY FAVORITE!!) +Call of Duty Black Ops +Fable III +Metal Gear Rising +Kinect Interface (Choosing options from your dashboard with just your hand and voice is AMAZING!!) Cons: -Gears 3.....I'm sorry, it's just the same...the same... -New Dashboard Features?? (ESPN yes, but what about TV or Hulu or YouTube) -Everything else about Kinect I have to say the live Demo of Kinect playing movies and music and logging you in is all super cool. But the games were a completely joke. The only one that I will ever invest in is going to be Kinectimals (like Nintendogs for 360) and that's only because my Daughter is going to LOVE that game. I was totally let down by the games shown on Kinect and have ZERO interest in playing games with it now or probably ever......but again, the interface stuff is super sweet!! Let's hope Sony and Nintendo bring the big guns!
  14. I was planning too, but then I played the Demo. It is like a really crappy second rate version of Gears without the polish or fun. Honestly, the worlds felt over done and it's hard to see anything all of the robots look like all of the walls. I was really excited and was completely let down. So, I am not and I would recommend anyone that wants to get it try the demo, there is one on LIVE and PSN. It's worth a demo! neo
  15. Aw, I spent most of my nice holiday weekend collecting stars in Galaxy 2 and heads in Red Dead Redemption. I'm not the kind of guy who likes to follow the story progression. My brother is always in a hurry to beat the game. In open world games I like to take my time and check things out on a slower pace. I'm not even in Mexico yet, lol. But, I've several thousand dollars and have almost all of my skills at or close to rank 7 and have bought most of what is available in the game. Anyway, I am loving every minute of it.....seriously, so much so that while we were singing "God Bless America" this weekend and we got to the line that goes, "...From the Mountains to the Prairies..." I couldn't think of anything except Red Dead......that's sad, I know . I like the "Glich Stores" so I thought I'd share mine. I was chasing down a bounty either Thursday or Friday night. It was up on the Rockey, Mountain area just west of Armadillo. So, I took the bandits down, shot the mark in the leg and hog tied him. When he was hog tied, the animation put him against a rock so it looked like the was standing up hog tied. While that was funny enough I pressed "Y" to pick up the body. The animation completed with me lifting a body however the body was not there. My John was stuck in a "Carry" animation with no body. To make things worse, I couldn't put the No-Body on the horse or lay it back down, so I was stuck carrying this flippin body. Then, the calvary starts to come and take me down. Since I have a No-Body on my shoulder I can't get on my horse and I can't shoot anything buy my revolver. So, I take down the first 2 horsed men and then, because I can't think of anything else, I start to run back to Armadillo with the No-Body over my shoulder. Sure enough more guys come and I manage to kill them easily. At this point, from the map, I'm WAY away from Armadillo. Another wave comes and I kill 2 guys but then just say forget it, I'll take the death and do this over again. So, I just stand in the middle of the road with this dude on a horse, about 8 game feet in front of me, and this guy can't even SHOOT ME! So, I shoot the horse, thinking maybe he'll have better aim on solid ground. At this point the guy is about 10 feet directly in front of me and he can't shoot me to save his life. THEN, out of nowhere a flippin Cougar jumps in and mauls the bandit. I then, begin to run.....still carrying my No-Body, and the Cougar then knocks me down. LOW AND BEHOLD that stinkin Cougar was enough for my guy to drop the No-Body. I then get up and make short work of the Cougar. Head back to the mark, still standing up hog tied. SHOOT HIM DEAD, loot his body and then return to Armadillo for my lesser fee. It was, of of the funniest, most annoying things I've seen in a game period. Also, as a side note, my Wife and Mother-in-Law were both watching at this time and were in tears with my John running around in a carrying animation with nothing on his shoulder.......I wasn't as excited, lol. neo
  16. Yeah, Baghead has pretty much answered your question. For there to be any risk there would have to be LOTS on money worth of items. I would say if it's under 10 grand you shouldn't even worry about it. In a divorce it's normally either Split what you own together or alimony which is basically just a monthly check you write her. She doesn't get half of your cloths or 2 of the 4 boxes of cereal. Again, I don't know how much your collection is worth, that may be where you want to start if you seriously think you have that much of an investment! neo
  17. Well, I had a fantastic weekend! Spent most of my time on Red Dead and then after Sunday on Galaxy 2. I actually took off yesterday from work just to game! (lame, I know) So, Red Dead may very well by my favorite game of this gen, and one of my favorite games of all time. To be honest, I'm enjoying this game so much I'm thinking I may have to go back and play GTA later, lol. It's immersive to the point where I just like to ride around and look at the world. I spent an hour and half on Saturday just riding around shooting animals for skins and just seeing what I could find. I earned close to $800 by the time I was done......that's a lot of gutting, HA. Anyway, I am enjoying the game so much more than I originally thought was even possible. I decided to pick up this game over ModNation and I am SO SO SO SO SO very happy I did. I'm still excited about forming a Posse.....we'll get there! As for the other side of my weekend, Galaxy 2 is also phenomenal! I will be honest, I never finished Galaxy 1. It was cool, but there was just something about it. The hub world set up (a little like Mario 64) was a mess. The Camera was not the best, and at times actually made me sick. I just loss interest real fast. I don't know why I even decided to give 2 a shot, but I did and it's been great. First, and more important, they have went back to an overworld type of Map (more like Mario 3, Mario World, and the recent New Super Mario Bros.). It is much easier to navigate and get into the action quick. They've done something with the camera, I'm not even sure what, but it's so much better than the first I can't even compare. And, more than anything, the game is so imaginative. The worlds are awesome and some of the ideas they come up with stump me. Just when you think they can't make it any better, they do. It's still Mario, it's a platformer, it's still basically just Run and Jump, but some of the puzzles and challenges are super cool and the worlds look GREAT, even in SD! My only complaint, if I can, is the difficulty level. I'm not a hardcore fan and I know that there are some stars that I won't get just because I refuse to spend hours trying to time my jumps perfectly. However, you can beat the game with a minimal number of stars so the difficulty doesn't hurt the average gamers but adds a lot of depth to the hardcore crowd that want 100%. I didn't think anything could take my time away from Red Dead, but Mario has been able to do that......some . Anyway, I think I'm pretty set for a while. I'll be spending most of my time on these 2 games in the forseeable future, with nothing else on my radar until Madden in August. And with the harder stars in Mario and Multiplayer in Red Dead, I probably won't need anything else anyway! neo
  18. Ah, don't get me started ! I come home to my daughter's cousin over for a slumber party. So, my living room has been overrun by girls painting toe nails and watching a movie. Then, my wife had a great idea to put their pallets on the living room floor so they could sleep. I went to be at 9:30pm last night.......9:30pm on a FRIDAY NIGHT with Red Dead sitting in my disc tray. Let's just say I didn't sleep peacfully!! Normally my kids are in bed no later than 8am (Central) and with LOST going off I don't really watch any other television, so you should be seeing my on quite a bit more. We will saddle up, you have my word on that!! neo
  19. Timbo, what time zone are you in? When do you normally get on? I saw you on last night just as I got on, but they it looked like you were getting off. It's Friday night, no work tomorrow. I'll probably spend the early evening with my kids, but after bedtime it will be on! neo
  20. I stand corrected. I do know it's the first on the Wii though. I can't wait ! I don't want to start this argument again, but it's not a double standard dude. I just don't like to support with my hard earned money things that I don't agree with. From what I've read and been told there are a lot of drugs involved, pimping hookers, etc. That's just not my cup of tea. And I know, there are whores in Red Dead, but so far they haven't been around much and I haven't had to interact or even be close to any of them. Again, that's just how I feel! And, on a final note, I do still wish there was a blood filter because it's pretty bloody. That's my favorite thing about Assassin's Creed, it's a super violent game but they still give you option to loose the blood and I love them for that . neo
  21. Sorry to double post, but I played a bit of Red Dead last night and holy cow.....it was Fantastic!! I've never played a Rockstar Game before. I cannot stand the GTA series and refused to ever pay for such trash. However, I went on a limb to pick up Red Dead and I'm not disappointed. I'm only an hour or so in but this game is completely amazing! It looks great and the controls are really tight. I've had a few small issues, but nothing that would keep me from putting this in my Top 10 games list right now! If you don't have this I can't recommend enough that you play it. We really need to get a Posse going guys. Let's get organized! On another note, IGN reviewed Mario Galaxy 2 for the Wii today. They gave it a perfect 10......I do believe that's the first of this generation, but for sure it's the first on the Wii. It's going to be a busy weekend between Red Dead and Mario......not to mention the 2 1/2 hours of LOST . Bring on 5pm!!! neo
  22. I picked up Red Dead last night. After ModNation completely failed I desided to explore my dark, more mature side, and pick up a Rockstar game (That's for you Nestle ). I picked it up for 360 devil. Problem is, if there is a game that I'm ever going to play online that's Multi-Platform the 360 will always get my money. Live is just that much better! As for the Posse, I haven't even started the game yet, but I'm ready. We need to schedule an actual time that we will all be on together and actually get a good match going. Let's figure this out boys! Ye-Haw!! neo
  23. OK, couple of things. First, let me say Thank God for Demos!!! I downloaded the Demo for ModNation Racers last night. I have been pumped for this game for months now. I have it already paid for and reserved at GameStop. What's the problem? The game controls are horrible!!! I spent the first hour with the game last night designing my first guy, kart, and track. All of it was super cool even with the limited selection in the demo. If the game would just stop there I would be sold. The problem was that after I finished customizing I went to race and it all went downhill from there (pun intended!). I felt my self swerving back and forth like a cross eyed moron. I could not stay on the road to save my life. I thought it may just take a while. I did four races and it never got better. The controls were TOO sensitive, just barely pushing the stick to the side you do almost a 90 degree turn into the wall. It's really that bad. Then, to top it off, in a game that's all about customization, at the option menu there is NO option to change the control scheme to the D-Pad or change the sensitivity. Well, I said all of that to say this game has went from an already paid for BUY to a depressing SKIP for me. And that brings me to point #2. I now have money to spend on another game. At this point my eyes are on Red Dead, but I have a couple of questions for the chaps who seems to already have it. I've never played GTA just due to content with no filters. While I know that Red Dead doesn't have filters either, can someone comment on the content so far. Just how bad is it really in the areas of blood and language? This is not a end all issue for me, but it is an issue. I love the ability of games like Assassin's Creed that let you turn the blood off, but I've went down this topic before so I'll stop before I get out of control. Basically I'm just asking for some Feedback because I'm thinking of swinging by and picking up the same tonight. neo
  24. Yeah, I've heard ModNation is just so-so for the PSP, but man I can't wait for that game on the PS3! As for Red Dead, I'm really tempted. TBT, since I don't want to have to do anymore research, can you explain this "Posse" to me? Is it like Multiplayer Co-Op? and How Many Players? That may be the final nail in the coffin. neo
