  1. Whats Up My PEEPS!! Sorry I haven't been around. My wife just had our second kid so we've been wrapped up in that for a while. Anyway, on the ol'gaming front I've still been playing alot of Fable. I'm working on beating it my second time (to keep my dog) and continue when Knothole island comes out later this month! I did get Prince of Persia for the 360, Buzz TV for the PS3, and Cronos Trigger for the DS for Christmas. Haven't even cracked PoP or Buzz yet, but I did play an awful lot of Cronos at the Hospital over the weekend. That is one game that I've never had the chance to play but have always heard great stuff about it and I'm beginning to see why. I'm really enjoying it! neo
  2. First off, WaW is GREAT! It's basically CoD 4 set in World War II. There have been minor upgrades, but it's basically the same. I loved CoD4 and I love WaW, and I'm kind of a history buff so I prefer the historical take. Plus, you learn really fast where "Kamakazee" originated, no one fights like the Japs! As for the Wii version, I can't give you hands on impressions, as I haven't played it. But it's basically the same game with scaled graphics and motion control. What I've "heard" has been very positive, I've actually heard it as good if not better than Metroid Prime 3......but again, it's just what I've heard. I can said though, that if all is missing is some graphic gloss, the game is solid and a lot of fun and I would recommend it on any system! neo
  3. Great idea Trekker: This would be my Top 5 1 - Fable II (360) 2 - Call of Duty: World at War (360) 3 - Burnout Paradise (360) 4 - Madden NFL 2009 (360) 5 - LEGO Batman (360) And, for good measure, "Best Game by Platform" that you own: Xbox 360 - Fable II Xbox Live Arcade - Braid Playstation 3 - Little Big Planet Playstation Network - The Last Guy Nintendo Wii - Super Smash Bros Brawl Nintendo DS - Advance Wars: Days of Ruin Playstation Portable - Secret Agent Clank neo
  4. I know what you mean. I'm a LEGO fan myself and all TT's games have been awesome. LEGO Batman is one of my top 5 games of the year! Which brings me to a discussion for "Your Top 5 Games of 2008". If you have trouble remembering what games were released, check out the full list here: 2008 Release List - Wikipedia This would be my Top 5: 1 - Fable II (360) 2 - Call of Duty: World at War (360) 3 - Burnout Paradise (360) 4 - Madden NFL 2009 (360) 5 - LEGO Batman (360) And, for good measure, "Best Game by Platform" that you own: Xbox 360 - Fable II Xbox Live Arcade - Braid Playstation 3 - Little Big Planet Playstation Network - The Last Guy Nintendo Wii - Super Smash Bros Brawl Nintendo DS - Advance Wars: Days of Ruin Playstation Portable - Secret Agent Clank So, let's get this end of the year party started ! neo
  5. I never realized how subjective the word "party" could be! Webster defines "Party" as a "social gathering". While society tends to leads to a certain "Status Quo", we like to keep our parties responsible and mild. That's how we roll . neo
  6. Wow, that's the most depressing thing I've heard of since Sean Penn sign to be in "Milk". That really stinks buddy. In fact, Netflix is the greatest thing to happen to my household since we bought a new TV. DVDs/Blu Rays thru the mail and thousands of Movies/TV online and on my Xbox, it's almost enough to make your head explode. I've watched more obscure and foreign and indy movies then I could have ever imagined (and even liked a few, lol). It's just amazing, I really hope you guys can get it one day. It's one awesome service! On another note, we are having a Christmas party tonight and I bought Home Alone on Blu Ray to watch. I was thinking and I don't think that I've watched home alone in at least 5 or more years. I can't wait. Then we are going to finish the party singing some of the Christmas Classics on "Lips"! It's going to be an awesome party, you guys should come! neo
  7. Double Post - Sorry It's been a few days, is no one gaming anymore ?!?! So, last night I spent almost all night watching Netflix. I honestly can say that if nothing else changed with the NXE, it was all worth it for the Netflix. I cannot stress how awesome it is to be able to stream everything they offer right to the Xbox. In my area they don't offer the best DSL yet. Right now I'm at level 3 (of 4) with AT&T. That's up to 3mbps. Level 4 is up to 6mbps. I was worried when I started because I didn't want to get crappy transfers. But, to my suprise, everything looks really nice. It's DVD quality on almost everything and even some of the shoes (Heroes/The Office) it's close to HD quality. Now, as soon as they offer the next level in my area I will be all over it, but until then I just can't express how happy I am with the whole thing! And, on the gaming front, I've been playing a lot of Lips lately. I've downloaded almost all the Christmas songs and several others (All Star, A Thousand Miles, etc). It's really a blast. I never owned Singstar but used to play it with a buddy, and Lips is much better and the Microphones feel like your grip a fine woman in your hands. Very nice, lol. I've also pulled out LEGO Batman too. Since I beat Fable I thought I'd give it a break and try to go back and finish the Villain story line. That game is still awesome. And, I also downloaded the new Doritos Destruction game, whatever it's called. It's free and actually kinda fun. You just run around as a T-Rex trying to eat the Dorito Trucks or you are the Truck trying to get away from the T-Rex. Simple but fun and FREE. Anyway, check it out! neo
  8. You know Dan. I Gameflyed SP3 and actually did like it. My favorite Spider-Man game to date is still "Ultimate Spider-Man" (God how I wish they would make a sequel!). However, SP3 I thought is the 2nd best. It got some really bad reviews and I never quite understood that. Anyway, I always meant to go back and buy it and just never did. I saw it for $12 over the weekend so I thinking I'm going to go back and pick it up. And, if New Goblin, is unlockable, I will buy him! As for my current gaming, I spend a LOT of time on the party games this weekend. Had 2 different parties hosted at my house. I had a Christmas Party for Friends on Friday Night and then we had a Cowboy Party last night for the game. In both instances we kicked on "You're In the Movies" and "Lips" and I have to say, they were all crowd pleasers. We only had about 8 people over last night and we played more Lips than anything. However, there were almost 20 people over on Friday and they all LOVED You're in the Movies. YinM is a 4 player game, while Lips is only 2. There are still some short comings with both games, things that I hope are addressed! For YinM, my main problem has been there is nowhere to share your videos. You should have the option to upload your videos to a server much like a YouTube service where you can share your videos with friends online. That is a must! For Lips, it's song selection and video capabilities. The good news is that Song Selection will grow, and if MS pushes this like Sing Star there will eventually be a ton to choose from and maybe even with genre packs like Sing Star (County, Pop, 90's, etc). The other thing I really want is to record yourself. This is an option on Sing Star. You can use your PSEyeToy to record you to make your own video while you are singing. Lips does a cool thing by offering a lot of original music videos to sing too, but there are some that are just noise and it would be cool is you could use your Vision Camera to record yourself singing the song. Hopefully this is something that will be corrected with future releases. But, even with all that said, they are still a bunch of fun. Lips has become one of my favorite games and those dang sexy wireless Microphones make it all that much better! And, now that Rock Band 2 is compatable with the Microphones, that makes it even more tempting . neo
  9. There's actually quite a few. First, I still haven't seen Quantum of Solace yet, so that's number 1! -Definance (12/12) -Seven Pounds (12/19) -Yes Man (12/19) -The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (12/25) -Revolutionary Road (12/26) -Valkyrie (12/26) -The Dark Knight: Re-Release (1/23) -Watchmen (3/06) -Dragonball: Evolution (4/10) -Seventeen Again (4/17) -X-Men Origins: Wolverine (5/1) -Star Trek (5/8) -Terminator Salvation (5/22) -Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (6/26) -G.I. Joe (8/7) -Where the Wild Things Are (10/16) I think that covers it......for now...
  10. Dude, I know what you mean, but honestly I can't stand any of that Death Metal trash. It's all just noise. BUT, for a fan of Christian artists, it's still cool to see them on the game. But I agree they are not, by far, my favorite . neo
  11. Dude, Nestle, you've read my mind . This is actually #1 on my Christmas list. Not only does it have Flyleaf and Underoath. It has Kutless coming up. And they've announced Country tracks this week and I love Brad Paisley (who is an awesome guitarist by the way). So, I'm really hoping to pick up RB2 for Christmas . neo
  12. Alright bro. I'm Central Time, so I will try to be on around 10:30pm. Just look me up when you get online! neo
  13. Dude, Wii, I shot you back a message on LIVE last night. I have the Feign Attack and I'll help you out. I can also throw you a hero doll (also unlocked from the Fable online game) if you haven't gotten one yet. I don't really want your money, but what I would like to have is any Dolls that you have. I'm trying to get the doll collector achievement, so any dolls that you have I could use! I'll be on at different times tonight looking for you! I'll probably be on around 6pm and then again around 10pm. Maybe we can hook up then! And, in other news: A little off topic I know, but this is news worthy enough for any thread . I actually got it about 5pm last night from UPS (I ordered it from Wal Mart). I've already watched it once and it's BEAUTIFUL in Blu Ray! Between Iron Man and The Dark Knight, this HAS to be the year of the Comic Movie!! Now, if we could just get a run like that for Video Games, but with Arkham Asylum, DC Online, and the new Marvel Ultimate Alliance due out next year, we may just have that!! neo
  14. Yeah, well I screwed myself I guess... Overall I'm still very satisfied with the game, just didn't like the ending much! But, with a game like this that really never ends, I guess it's hard to have a good, emotional, powerful, ending.......I guess. neo
  15. Ok............let's move back to games . I beat Fable II...I think. Without spoilers, I was giving 3 options and I chose one and then it cut to the Credits and then dropped me back at the dock in Oakfield. Now, I'm not sure what the heck just happened. Did my game skip a cut scene or was that just the end or do I do something wrong ?!?! neo
  16. There are several really good games. Here's what I'd recommend: LEGO Indy/LEGO Star Wars - This is of course, if you like LEGO Batman. All 3 of those are some of my most favorite games EVER! Madden 09 - If you are a sports fan, the newest version of Madden on the Wii is GREAT! Of course it's not going to look like Next Gen. It has some great Minigames, and plays solid. One of the greatest additions is the ability to "Point" at a receiver pre-snap and draw using the IR a new route for him to run. It's addicting and fun!! Mario Kart Wii - This is a must own for any fan. If you like the DS version, you will love the Wii version. It's insanly fun and online. Get it! Legend of Zelda: Twilight Priness - If you have not played this game, you need to make this #1 on your list. This is not only one of the best games of the system, but one of the best games of this generation. While it doesn't quite reach the level of Ocarina, it's the closest the Zelda series has ever been to getting back to it! Zack and Wiki: The Quest for Barbosa's Treasure - This game didn't get much love, but it's one of my favorite. It's hard to discribe, but its kind of like a point and click adventure game. It's more about solving puzzles and finding the treasure. It's got kiddy anime graphics, but don't let that fool you. This game will give the most seasoned gamer a run for their money! MLB Power Pros 08 - The is THE BEST baseball game that I've ever played. I've lost more hours to this game than any other game I own.......on any system. It's deep and addictive and if I only had one game to choose for the Wii it would be this one! Quick Hits: -Mega Man 9 (WiiWare) -Resident Evil 4 -World of Goo (WiiWare) -Metroid Prime 3 -WarioWare -Super Mario Bros 1, 2, 3, World (Virtual Console) -The Legend of Zelda 1, 2, Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time (Virtual Console) And, for the record, games NOT to buy: Wii Music - I have a whole post on this topic, go read it! Animal Crossing: City Folk - Another lame attempt for Nintendo to recycle the same game, 5 years old, and hand deliver it to a dying hardcore fanbase. And the reason Nintendo keeps doing it?? Because the N-Lambs keeping buying it! It's only going to stop when we make a stand. neo
  17. Where the world did you find a picture of my mom !?!?!?!?!?!? neo
  18. Yeah, Batman R.I.P. does mean Rest in Peace, as in the end of Bruce Wayne........or supposed. I'll give you short, non-headache inducing version. Batman lost his memory. Becomes a gay Purple and Yellow Batman led by Bat-Mite. Finally finds the Black Glove, who are basically rich gamblers betting on Batman's death. The Joker is there......for no apparent reason (although he was cool). We find that Bruce's true love Jezabel is really a bad guy and set him up. He is then dressed in his nicest Blue Batman Suit and Burried alive. Then there is a lot of inner reflection and finally rising again from the grave. He then starts the Batman Buttwhuppin. He follows the Black Glove out to a Helicopter. The Black Glove shoots him in the chest (no damage). He then goes on about how he is Bruce's father but Bruce doesn't buy it. So he rambles about some stunt double who fell in love with another man's wife and that wasn't who he was. In fact, I still have no idea who the crap he was. Anyway, Batman, now with cowl removed, dives for the helicopter and climbs up on the front. In anger he smashes the windshield and then "KABOOM" the helicopter blows up in mind sky. Then we see Nightwing standing holding the Cowl. See, that wasn't confussing......was it. Actually, if you could imagine that times 10 you would know what it's like to read the story. It was horrible and there is NO WAY that I'll believe Batman dead. Seriously, he was on a Helicopter OVER WATER when it exploded. That was the lamest attemt to kill anyone that I've ever seen. No evidence, no body, no utility belt floating, nothing. He's not dead! HELLO!! The saddest part is, I started this thread with a lot of hope for the book. I was hoping they would follow the trend set by Brubaker in Captain America. Kill off Batman, CLEARLY! Let Dick take up the cowl and move forward for a new age. Cap will not stay dead and neither will Bruce, but for the time being it would have been great to see these old old books get some new life. In stead, we are left with a far fetched ending for a death that probably never happened and more questions that mean nothing to anything. I'm extremely dissapointed and I will not be following the current Batman archs.......unless they do give Dick the cowl! neo
  19. Sorry to bring back an old thread, but R.I.P is over. Who read it and what are your thoughts?? neo
  20. Ha! Now, that's classic. I don't really see how it's easier, to me there is more involved. Maybe this is just a sign your 4 year old is a genius . I still really like the NXE. I love the Avatars and I love the Netflix and I love the new Quick Launch and I LOVE Premium Themes. But the one thing that still bugs me some is all the crap! I wish I could eliminate the Inside Xbox, Featured, and Community Crap! I know they need advertisements because MS needs money like we need oxygen, but I hate to even have to look at it. In fact, I actually prefer the smaller adds mixed in with my features better than it is now....but that's just me! neo
  21. Wow.............what a HUGE let down. I was SO turned off by #6 I didn't even pick up #7 until today. But, I followed the first 6, I wanted to finish. So, I picked up #7 and #8 today, because really.....it's couldn't get any worse.......right...............right...........hello!?!? *****I would like to warn you of Spoilers, but instead I'm going to tell you to read my post so you can save your money!***** IT WAS WORSE. For the love of pete, this is probably the worse crossover even that I can remember (and I read all of Heroes Reborn!). There was no drama in the final two issues at all. The Jungle Fever Baby? Don't care! Heroes Return? So What. Janet Dies? *yawn*. Honestly, I found most of this story to be laughable. I don't even know where to begin to properly trash this book. Let's start with the HUGE factors that didn't make a flippin difference. Like Spideys almost painful line, "at least The Watcher isn't Here". Seriously, you are in the middle of fighting to save the lives of everyone on earth and all you can think about is the Watcher.....but wait, THERE HE IS. He shows up, out of nowhere in the middle of this POS. In fact, I'm thinking he wanted to drop by because he's never in his lifetime witnessed a more useless story! Oh wait, it gets better, let's back up a little. Revived Thor meet Bucky, Gun Toting Captain America, It's time to bring the Avengers back. Those.....two lines of dialogue......were awesome. There was no humanity, no emotion, no nothing. Just "Hey, what's up, let's fight". Painful! But, things finally turned around with Captain Marvel showed up. Remember when he finally showed up. Flying like a big fireball in smashing right in the thick of things. Then, looking at the reader with that awesome face saying "It's Time to Fight"......and then not showing up again the rest of the series. What did that prove?!?! Bendis has this fasination with super strong characters (Sentry, Captain Marvel, Thor) and using them to do absolutly NOTHING! Then there is The Wasps Death....Give me a break. Even now, as I think about it, I would have been more said if Jarvis woulda bit the big one. I don't care about Janet Pym, does anyone.........anyone..................anyone..............Buller..............T hat's what I thought! Kill Nick Fury or Bullseye or Ares or Ms. Marvel or Jessica Jones or Luke Cage or anyone that is worth page time and you have my attention, you kill the Wasp and you make me yawn. HOWEVER, my favorite "WTF" moment was when Tony left the battle. Come on, This is on Tony! Tony showed his true colors in Civil War and led the Marvel U into a very bad place. A lot of this crap is his fault. I love Tony, my favorite character and after everything this series set up you would think that Tony would finally find, not all, but some of his redemption here. But he doesn't, he leaves for the most "dramatic" part (Janet Dying) and then returns in time to find the real heroes. Please tell me this is just a very, very late April Fools joke !?!? I can't end without mentioning Osborn and Dark Reign. Let me first say, I like the Idea of Bad Guys in High Places. The idea that Norman is going to be the big man on campus while destroying everything from the shadows is great. I've always loved Norman Osborn and I honestly find him much more interesting than the Goblin himself. HOWEVER, what person in their right mind would put him in charge ?!?!?! Seriously, are we supposed to swallow that? That'd be like seeing Ted Bundy shoot Osama Bin Ladin in the face and then our president saying, "You know what, I believe Ted Bendy would make a good Secretary of Defense!" I know our current president isn't the brightest bulb in the box, but even he isn't that dumb. I find it MORE BELIEVABLE that a huge viking could truly be the God of Thunder than I do a president giving over that much power to a mad man. It makes my brain hurt just thinking about it. So, I'm sure by now you guys can see how much I loved this story. I didn't even have time to mention the bull crap Fantastic Four's part in this mess and where the Crap the X-Men have been and why in the world the Skulls would want a human baby and, well, I really could go on... As far as Dark Reign goes, I'll bide my time. I'm not sure it can get much better.....I only know it can't get much worse! neo
  22. Party Animals - TWO THUMBS DOWN!!! It's funny you mention your "Rotation", I hadn't actually thought about that until reading your post. So, it got me thinking of my "Rotation". Here is what I've come up with: -Call of Duty: my favorite FPS ever and my favorite game to play online! -Madden (Current Year): I'm a huge football fan and tend to keep my Madden disc spinning all year long -Current LEGO Game: Right now it's Batman, but any of them are always fun to go back to sometimes -Worms: Still my favorite Arcade game and sometimes I just like to sit back and enjoy some British Speaking Worm Action! -Burnout Paradise: I'm not a huge racing fan, but Burnout is the best racing game I've played so every now and then I get the itch . So, what about you guys? What would your "Rotation" consist of? And, for the record, Rotation would be games that you consistantly play over a long period of time. And, and Nestle, don't get used to us agreeing.........I'm sure it won't last long . neo
  23. Yay, I'm always excited for new Gamers on LIVE! Welcome!! Let me add my two cents, which everyone knows I like to do ! I never played Fable on the original Xbox. However, Fable II is one of my favorite current-gen games PERIOD! You can pick it up and play it and honestly, if you didn't already know there was an original Fable game, you would never tell the difference! I'm also going to have to lean in Nestle's direction when it comes to Halo! The story is large scale and epic and has a lot of "making you think" moments. When the Flood gets involved and....well, play it. But also like Nestle said, if you aren't in it for the story and just want to skip forward to the action pick up Halo 3, it is the best of the bunch clearly. But, I would recomend you pick up Halo and Halo 2 (you could probably find them used for around $20 combined). Like Fable, I never played Halo on the orignal Xbox, but when I knew I was going to buy Halo 3 I went back and picked up both games and beat them (Co-Op) both and I'm much the happier because of it. So that would be my recommendation! Also, you get Kungu Fu Panda and LEGO Indy which are both really good E titles. KFP actually plays like a Kid friendly Ninja Gaiden......and I actually preferred KFP to NG. Also, if you've read anything I've wrote in the past, I love the LEGO games. I would also recommend you pick up LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga and LEGO Batman. This has been one of the best years for games I can remember. There is a ton that would be good to pick up. Rock Band 2, Gears of War 2, Madden 09, Fallout 3, Fable II, Banjo Nuts and Bolts, Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty World at War. As for the rest. I would look on the "Cheap" rack. Since you are late to the party there are a lot of really good games that you can get for good prices. I would put at the top of that list Oblivion, Burnout Paradise, Ghost Recon: Advanced War Fighter, and Call of Duty 2 just to name a few! neo
  24. LOL, I really want to, but I just can't bring myself to play. With Fable and CoD I'm just too busy on the Big White Box to leave . Maybe once I beat Fable I'll have some free time to join you . neo
  25. That's funny, I've been playing Fable consistantly since day one and I still haven't beat the game yet. I just get too involved with buying everything and side quests and stuff like that. I have a blast playing and I'm OK taking my time. Sure, you can probably beat the game in 15 hours and that may be "short" for an RPG, but what makes RPGs great is to become part of another world and explore and grow with your character. So, I think Fable II is more than adequate enough.....but that's just me! I am going to pick up Chrono Trigger this weekend. Of all the games that I've played, I've never played CT so I'm really looking forward to picking it up on the DS! neo
