Just wanted to share my Minimate MAX collection. It's a bunch of civilian figures and some cybernetic terrorists. They came into being because I had so many BSG and 24 mates that were waiting to be custom fodder. I really liked the BSG Lee "Apollo" face and hair and the GB Mayor's outfit and wanted to see what else I could come up with. enjoy!

I'll wait until someone get them in hand and shares some photos until I make a decision, but I'm pretty sure this is set is a pass. I doubt there will be any new accessories, or even tampos underneath the gear. What a sad attempt at something, I'm not really even sure what they were going for. This line has such potential, for collectors and kids, and they seem to be failing, or not investing into the line. My response when I opened up my first max series one set of the cops and I took of the swat gear and saw an empty blue chest underneath, I thought, "Shit, I bought a mis-manufactured one." So I bought another, same deal. And I thought, "well this can't be right. This is cheap." So unless I can display these mates without all that bulky gear, or the set comes with cool new accessories, I can't imagine wasting my money on it. And that is what I would be doing, wasting my money.

Here's a few I've been sitting on, and a few I just finished. There are a few more in the works, but I've been having some troubleshooting issues with the waterslide decals. first up the just completed Dazzler and 80s Rogue. Longshot is missing. "When the 10th series of Marvel Minimates for TRU hits stores it will feature this Nemesis figure with clear torso." Anyone else think that statement means only the torso will be clear plastic and not the whole figure?

I went to a friends where the light pollution was less than in the city, and popped out for a minute every fifteen minutes or so because it was too damned cold to stay outside. It was pretty cool to see the moon like that. anyone seen any cool telescopic pics on the web?

So I went thru the list, well got half way thru it and it hit me... but first the sad sad tale: after my package arrived I only knew that my santa was from michigan and had left a note with three pictures of kenny from southpark with "oh mah god, they killed kenny!" I did a search to see if anyone had southpark, or kenny in their names, then I searched south park related posts. then I was all like, it must be punisher! kenny is dead, he was punished. and I was wrong. So I'm going over this list and crossing out people who have been claimed or the area wasn't michigan. So I look to the end of the list and read out-loud "Youbastards." omg I am so thick. "OMG, they killed Kenny!" "You bastards!" so lol and a big thanks to Youbastards for the prezzies and for the clue being perfect enough that I didn't get it right away (though I might have should).

No, not me! I seem to be a popular pick! damn! you're the only person who seems to claim Michigan as a place to be from.

Douglock/warlock doesn't really come with any extra pieces. there are two extra solid black hands and two extra solid black feet. I used a spare new mutant to swap out the inside chest piece, the head and crotch. the arms and legs have no phalanx tech markings, I left them on the "warlock" figure (who now has a solid yellow crotch, a random head underneath the frenchfry head and a random torso).

here you are good sir! any photo request? I've just returned from seeing tron and now that I'm home I have a chance to play with them and use my camera for photos. Getting Magik onto here teleport stand required seeing how they had her displayed at nycc, and patients (also removing her gloved hand and her hair). "I am BATMAN!"

Next week my TRU is open starting Tuesday the 21st at 6am until 10pm Xmas eve nonstop. I hope these and the Halo mates show up at my TRU before xmas. The Halo mates were out too.

Picked up wolvie/mags, magick/warlock and cannonball/shatterstar today in Maryland. Mags does come with a dark face, but it is a flesh colored base with a black tampos with red eyes. he also comes with one of those clear flight stands. I skipped the spidey/lizard pack. I figured people would like to see Douglock. The right arm blaster does not come off.

I opened my secret santa package today, and wow. thanks!!! A book that I've really wanted to read, some paint brushes, a Son of Satan lead figure and a minimate Halo warthog!!!!! I haven't had a chance to look around and deduce who my Santa is yet, but thank you so much!!

I have often wondered about this myself. I figured it was a rocket effect for the t-shaped piece, but found it... lacking.

Mailed my secret prezzies out on Monday, or maybe it was Tuesday. Cataclysm launched this week and the world of warcraft has eaten my life.

What exactly is the "normal wear and tear" you put a Minimate through that causes a Minimate's face to wear off in hours? Ivan, I've been LOLing for hours. Hellpop, the first day that I had him, I put him in my pocket. While a friend was driving to the mall, I pulled him out and was playing with him, posing and making him bald, during that time I thought I noticed a bit of his eyebrow had gone missing. I wiped his face with my thumb thinking it may have been a piece of dust or something and discovered that the paint application was actual rubbing off. Hours later, and he had been in a pocket, his mouth was gone and most of his right eye.

I think it depends on how rough you want to be with them. I've found minimates to be pretty durable, but I tend to play with them to the extent of posing them and reposing them, occasionally some get to travel, and some live in the car. I did take Aquaman to Hawaii, and he was either in my bag, pocket or doing tropical photoshoots (example below). Aquaman, being the only DC 'mate I'll admit to owning, was also the only 'mate I've been rougher with (he likes it rough). I've had to replace his head because he original face wore off within hours of being opened, but that was normal wear and tear, since then he has been in my pocket while I swam in the ocean, been with me snorkeling, been in my pint of beer, and sometimes he hogs the bed. I do think the older 'mates had tighter holes and pegs, harder plastic and less accessories (like flared gloves) keeping them more durable. Now that I think about it, I had the Wolverine and Sabretooth two-pack from toys r us in two of my cars. They lived there, survived an accident, endured summer heat, and blizzard condidtions, been played with by anyone who got into the car and was like "Oh Wolverine! why, whatsitdoo?" and survived an assault of mcdonalds' french fries. the most damage any 'mate has suffered was a White Queen from an e-bay lot. the seller shipped them all in one bag and she ended up with a red paint gash on her cape, and some hot soapy water later, it's all white again.

I've been seriously limiting which of these I will buy, though after months of "maybe he'll be on the peg," I found Archangel!! He sits well with Iceman, Colossus and Jean Grey; like a little 3.75 pocket of the Gold Team.
