  1. Well, I have said this already on this thread... but since there are two others who are saying the same thing, I will jump on the wagon and add a third voice to this compliment (I mean... I don't know how many people Cloneme made a Scarlet Spider for, but it seems like we're all destined to echo this thought ) ... yes, apparently I would jump off of a bridge if TC23 and JL were jumping too So, Ummm... "Ditto". Yeah. My Scarlet Spider custom rocks my face off and back on again. Very professional. *thumbs up*
  2. Absolutely! I'd buy one of these in a heartbeat. You could almost presell them here on the forum. Once you work out the casting and figure out a base price I'm sure you'd be able to find at least a dozen people, if not more, who'd gladly pay for an articulated Minimate Max blank! Now, as to whether or not this violates AA's copyright... But then again there is that guy who sells those 8" Lego figs. Ditto... again. It's safe to say that there are many of us who would be willing to help financially to see this project come to life. Count me in for any assistance that I could give Nah, dude! That custom is still just as beautiful and pristine as the day I got him from you! It's a wonderfully professional job... granted, I have been very careful with him, but I've also gotten a lot of use out of the little guy. Come October 6th, you will see several issues of Minimate Adventures featuring ol' Scarlet in all his customized glory To this day, I still claim that, of all the minimates that I currently own, he is my favorite (though I have acquired several beautiful customs that come close... but he was my first *sniff... i lost my custom minimate virginity with him...) and he is still the best
  3. $25 is totally doable... I was thinking that it was going to be much higher in price. This is good news (imo) ... Im definitely going to pick one up now
  4. Ahhhh yes. The wonderous piece of beauty that had everyone drooling. It seriously is an incredible and awesome thing.
  5. After massive amounts of deliberation, I think I have finally decided on whose entries I am going to vote for... But, man! It was such a hard decision! There are so many amazing entries - so many that deserve first place. I don't think I will ever feel at ease with my decision, only because it means that a couple people that I think deserve to win, will not be winning But i guess that's how it works. All in all, I think we have seen some amazing pieces of work. Cheers to everyone who entered, and my condolences to whoever doesn't win, but certainly deserved to!
  6. No, but it may be this easy... Actually, it really wasn't that hard to do this. All you need to do is tape off the parts you dont want painted green (thats the hardest part, but still relatively simple), and airbrush it.
  7. No. Freaking. Way. You just earned a huge amount of respect from me, bro. Huge. Amount. Of respect.
  8. Amazing! That's so tight! ... I have to give you mad props for that beautiful piece of artwork
  9. I'm feeling ya So many wondeful and talented entries! Gosh!
  10. Heh That's great! I love that one if for no other reason than to see PP/SM set ablaze Seriously. But all kidding aside... that's definitely a good use of a minimate, and the background adds a lot to the equation. *thumbs up*
  11. Hot stuff, dirge! I'm loving that someone did a Turtles cover! Ahhhhh... Good ol Ninja Turtles. My childhood heroes I think I'm going to have to make some customs of those guys just so I can do some covers of classic TMNT issues. Man, I feel so inspired now (we should hold another covers contest sometime in the future... this is too much fun)
  12. A whole slew of creative and quality entries... I am excited just to be part of such a cool contest, with so many amazing entries. I have to say, I am impressed by the number of pieces of artwork that this competition has produced. Good job to everyone who has entered! This is really cool
  13. Yeah, I'm digging that entry, Fujis... if for no other reason than the fact that it's a unique choice (non DC/Marvel) ... but it obviously took you some work, and for that, I give you a big thumbs up. I am quite fond of this entry
  14. my local Target had nothing new the punks. I got my hopes all rilled up, only to be spat upon by the marketing giant okay, not really. But I was dissapointed. Oh well. They will become available to me at some point, in some way. Hooray for eBay.
  15. Sweet molasses! Im stoked that we are getting these hard to find minis now... I can finally do some customs that Ive been longing to make, without spending a freaking fortune. but at the same time, Im a little bummed that I broke down and spent as much as I did to get the GSXM boxed set, when I could have waited a year or so and gotten them for so much cheaper. Except for Thunderbird. but alas. I am so totally heading off to Target tomorrow to score a buttload of these...
  16. Here are some sites with basics: http://akvis.com/en/photoshop-tips/selection-tools.php http://www.graphic-design.com/Photoshop/tu...ls/0301-27.html I couldn't find anything that was too indepth... I would send you the stuff that I learned from, but I didnt use anything. I just experimented till I figured it all out... but that took me a while. If none of those links helped you, or if you have any specific questions, drop me a PM and I'll do what I can to help
  17. Sweet! Yeah, You should work on your cutting, but thats probably the only thing that I would point out that you need to work on. The rest of it is great! And I especially like the flame effect on Johnny. Overall, it looks sleek. I'm digging the composition and colors, especially...
  18. wow. ... I mean... Sheesh, man! That's polished. I like it. A lot. That's superb work, Boyd! Heh. I love the texturing on Ice Man. That's pretty creative. And that's a nice touch with the big hands & feet on Beast. Overall, a very very nicely done entry. Makes me wish I had stepped my entry up a bit.
  19. And apparently, neither is the person who made that original poster... especially all of Reed, and Sue's legs. Ewwww. But I seriously do think you made it look better than the original. Technically, I don't think it counts, since it's a movie poster and not a comic cover/scene... but if it did count, I would think you'd get bonus points for improving on the original design
  20. I just got mine today... totally sweet! I love the fact that my hulk is actually in scale...
  21. Yeah, cuz that's exactly what the Spiderman universe needs - more clones
  22. Totally sweet work! The changes are subtle, but they really do a lot to make him seem more menacing. *thumbs up*
  23. Interesting. I would have assumed that Beast was a full custom. it looks like you put a light coat of paint over it, or perhaps took a blue sharpie to it. I don't know - it has a very realistic look to it, not a look of having been treated with Photoshop. Hmmm. I need to learn that program better, I guess.
  24. There were a decent number of areas where I did indeed use Photoshop, but I tried to do as much of it with real life customs as I could (but Im not too good at it, and it takes so long). There are things in there that you can easily tell were done with my computer, but in the end, that's what worked out best for me, mainly because I just didnt have the time to do every detail by hand. As for Kilgore, I can't say for sure. I do know that some of them were real customs (like Beast), but there are others that I wonder how he made them. Either by hand or by computer, I think he did a bang up job
  25. I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro (now it's Corel, I think) or Adobe Photo Shop. If you do a search, you can get a free tiral download of either program from their websites... I would recommend Corel's program versus Adobe's for a beginner/novice... it's learning curve is generally easier, but it doesn't do as much. Plus, if you want to get the full (non-trial) version, Corel's program is cheaper. But, if you're thinking about doing serious stuff, go with Adobe. It's what professionals use, and it's the best tool for photo editing on the market.
