  1. I hope these make it to retail. They look incredible, but I have such a hard time ordering Joes since they went to mainly online. I have all but one of the Joes that they put out since they relaunched with the Joe vs Cobra line. I got the first wave of online stuff, but haven't gotten any since. Sinc Hasbro now rules the action figure aisles at most retail, maybe they can throw their weight around and get these on the shelves where they belong.

  2. -How are most licenses attained? Does DST go after a license or are you guys ever approached by licensors?

-Any chance of Minimates being offered through other retailers or is what we've seen probably going to be what we get?

-Dst has announced a lot of Minimate info recently. Will there be any suprises at Toy Fair this year or do we know most of what's coming out? By the way, thanks for not making us wait for what you've shown so far.

    Thanks.

  3. As much as I loved Palisades, I never got into the PALZ. I would have bought anything they made, but they never made a license I liked.

And I second what Don said about Palisades and their fan interaction. I've never seen a company so in tune with their fans. It built loyalty in people because they knew their opinion mattered. And they gave back a lot too. I don't know how much promotional stuff I got from them from contests and working for them. I even have my name on the back of the Swedish Chef playset (IMHO the best playset ever). Too bad listening to fans doesn't pay bills.

  4. If you'd asked me a year ago why, I'd say all the same as everyone else; the size, the same scale for different licenses, the price, etc. Now, though, it's about quality time with my boys. I have six year old twin boys who discovered my mates about six months ago and fell in love with them. One likes to roleplay with them (usually just the women) and the other loves taking them apart and making different combinations with them (hopefully a future customizer in the making (or maybe a plastic surgeon)). It's neat for us to sit around the table and just play. And every new one I get through a trade or in the mail or at a store is shared with two people who appreciate them as much as I do. That's something I had with my dad to an extent and it's neat to pass that on to my kids. And with my wife pregnant with another boy, maybe I'll be sharing for awhile longer.

  5. I liked the first one, but it still disappointed. An hour and a half of character developement to lead into a five minute battle. Where they fought Doom was fantastic  , but it needed that feeling of coolness all of the way through. Any sequel that can pick up and go right into action without having to tell everyone what's going on should be better. And how can you go wrong with rumors of Galactus?

  6. I started renting the new series after seing the pictures of the new Minimates. It's what everybody says it is-one of the best shows on television.

When we'd seen all there was, I rented the original movie the other night. I think we made it through about 30 minutes before giving up. Maybe if we'd watched it before the new series it wouldn't have been so bad, but I doubt it.

I still want some classic Cylons, though.
