  1. they do it this way because they always package 1 human and 1 ghost...
  2. I just wish they'd re-release the very first DST 4pack, I missed it the first time around (and didnt know anything about minimates either) and now if you find them on ebay they usually end up going for $40-50... the 1985 Marty w/ vest & skateboard is the only version of him that I like, I saw a loose one go for $10+s&h on ebay recently... I dont care for the others (the one with the plaid shirt isnt too bad)
  3. I was just wondering, has anyone here other then featofstrength assembled their own firehouse playset using my plans?
  4. Egon, Ray & Winston in their subway exploring clothes with yellow hard hats would be nice, and Louis with Egons brainwave helmet would be great
  5. I was just poking around on diamondselecttoys.com and the Back to the Future time machine for minimates is available for pre-order... they have a regular one and a "frozen" one - though I wouldve preferred either a BTTF2 hover mode with wheels up car or the BTTF3 version with the white & red wheels and the stuff on the hood as opposed to a frozen one (the same as the regular, but with a white speckled paint job) -- I just hope this means that they are going to re-release the BTTF minimates line as I missed out on them when they were originally available... BTTF time machine http://diamondselecttoys.com/store/item.as...;CategoryID=398 frozen BTTF time machine http://diamondselecttoys.com/store/item.as...;CategoryID=398 it also says each car comes with (not sure if its 1 or 2) exclusive NEW minimates!
  6. I commented on these pics over at gbfans feat, but once again great job! I was hoping more people would make their own but yours is the only one Ive seen
  7. the new Slimer minimate (comes with Louis) has a clear base like the vg chef mm - I wish they had done the first Slimer with a clear base, I dont like the green one)
  8. I went into my local (1.5 hours away) Toys R Us the other day for the first time in a few years and asked them if they carry Minimates - the lady (in her 50s or 60s) looked at me like I just asked here where Im supposed to put my bag of feces (Borat reference) and got on her walkie (which was also tapped into the store intercom) and asked someone if they knew if they carried Minimates figures, and the other person didnt know, so the lady assumed they didnt have them... meanwhile my friend had gone over to the figures section, and when I joined him he handed me a Terminator minimates 2 pack... several minutes later I found a ton of battlestar gallactica mm AND marvel minimates (yet the employees never heard of them) and behind a rack of 6" ironman figures I found ONE pack of Ghostbusters minimates, the GB2 Winston/Terror Dog set - I didnt get it because I already own them, but I wish I had cause my other Terror Dog is the one that came for Louis to wear, but I took him out and put another minimate inside, but theres no hole on its head so the mask doesnt fit right) the moral of the story is dont trust anyone who works at Toys R Us, you gotta look for yourself.
  9. as far as the videogame ghosts go, I really like how the chef and the black slime monster came out, and the size makes sense because both of those ghosts in the game are similar in size to the ghostbusters - where as the architect (final boss who is like 5 stories high) and azetlor (who is also huge) have not been represented in minimate form as well as the other 2
  10. I dont think the wave 2 figures are coming out until October or November sadly...
  11. updated checklist - download full version below http://jhroberts.deviantart.com/art/GB-min...t-2-0-134191876
  12. compared to this offical "to show kids what's out there" poster is: The fan made one (I'm assuming fan made since it has no copyright info/legal text on it) clearly separates each set making it a true checklist rather then a giant clusterlovefest of minimates out there you might want to buy. It doesn't have the convention only Blank Promo no kid (and since it's on minimates.com we can assume it's for the kids) can obtain without their parents spending a couple hundred bucks to take them to a convention. I understand to a degree the Marvel poster being so cluttered as there's probably no way you could fit 32 waves (31 really, right Ghost Rider...) + TRU sets + a large handful of box sets on a poster with clear distinction between each set and not have it looks like picture of the Comic Con Masquerade taken from Google Earth.... but there's only 14 different Ghostbusters sets right now, there's no reason not have something closer to the fan made list then the cluttered list right now. thank you for the kind words! Im actually the one that made that checklist, I posted it on gbfans.com and protoncharging.com but I dont know if I was a member here yet at the time, which is probably why I never posted it here (Im also the guy that made the Ghostbusters minimates firehouse playset, link below) you can get the full printable version of the GB checklist below, though I should probably make an updated one as I think there are some not shown (at least the black 25th ann. blank figure) and there are some typos/wrong names etc... http://jhroberts.deviantart.com/art/Ghostb...ist-2-128855467 http://protoncharging.com/gb/2009/07/07/minimates-checklist/ http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?showtopic=6633
  13. good point - though the noses really help identify each person, hmmm... I'll have to rework it some more...
  14. it's the Ertl 1:18 diecast Ecto-1 - its a little big for the minimates, I think the polar lights model is a better scale, but the doors on it dont open like the Ertl one... http://www.eccentrically-english.com/images/Ecto1.JPG looking forward to it! though if I had to do it again, I would spray the foamcore with grey spraypaint first - and then when your attaching the graphics, use spray adhesive (my mothers idea, which makes sense) so you dont have thick shiny tape all over the place like mine - my nephew was psyched though and it doesnt seem to bother him
  15. here's my rough draft - i might get it finished tonight... I think the heads need to be a little bigger too...
  16. any pics of the actual minimates (not just the classic figures) or the designs? I used to have a handful of these, only one has made the 20 year journey with me... he's in my nephews toy box now, I think the logo still works...
  17. thanks! Im working on uploading the graphics to my deviantart gallery for others to use if they want to make their own edit: graphics are all uploaded to my deviantart gallery, just click the link under my signature to get them!
  18. FINISHED! I worked last night from about 8:30 to 12:30 cutting out all the artwork and taping, gluing etc the artwork to the walls, what a giant pain in the ass! if you try to do this I would recommend giving yourself alot more time then I gave myself - plus alot of the walls were too big even for 11x17 paper which is what staplescopycenter uses so there was alot matching together and then lots of gaps cause I didnt have the dimensions of the artwork quite right... (before 2nd floor is installed) experimenting with lego bases (Venkman before and after) "go check on that little guy!" "yes, have some!" "who does your taxes?" group shot a closeup of what the edges look like, since my dimensions were slightly off, I had to fill in the white with paint (black & chunky white poster paint mixed together) with lots of tape everywhere - but its for a 5 year old so I dont think he'll notice it
  19. we'll see how this one turns out first - this one is very basic (just big flat pieces), but it cost $28 just to print out the art for the walls (I set it up as a 16 page 11x17 pdf) but if I make anymore they will be a smaller scale - I could do a real river of slime, as I have a container of that green nickelodeon slime for those super soaker slime shooters they sell at walmart...
  20. I think the slimed Peter/slimer 2 pack is the rarest, I had ordered it through toysrus.com a couple weeks ago along with the gb2 winston/terrordog 2 pack and a terminator 2 pack and a couple days later they emailed me saying they removed slimer/peter from my order and didnt say anything about it being back in stock - and it disappeared completely from their website (as opposed to being listed with "out of stock" underneath) - I managed to get them for my nephews birthday as part of a 5 pack lot via eBay but I want one for myself too! I saw a loose slimed peter on ebay the other day but i want him AND slimer...
  21. I'll definitely upload the files for everyone to use, probably later this week - the GB minimates are absolutely a big deal to GB fans, there's a 10 page thread about them over on gbfans.com, weve been following them since at least February - afterall, these (and the upcoming mattycollector figures) are the first ever MOVIE figures that have been released, something we GB fans have been waiting years for - I cant say whether or not people who usually dont buy toys are buying these, but I myself dont buy toys very often anymore unless its something Im really passionate about like Ghostbusters (here's a pic of 90% of my collection) and other then the Speed Racer figure, these are the first minimates Ive ever bought, and I really like them and will likely buy more in the future - my one beef with minimates is that they're kind of hard to stand up, are there any companies that make individual bases for figures? GB minimates thread: http://www.gbfans.com/community/viewtopic....=54&t=10192
  22. thanks, it's good to be here! I didnt know about the custom section, maybe one of the mods can move this thread over there? it would make more sense - as for my avatar, I cant take credit for it, I scanned the logo from one of my GB minimates boxes and recreated it in photoshop, here's a larger version w/ transparent background if anyone wants to use it:
  23. well, this one is actually for my nephew for his birthday, I bought him all the available Ghostbusters minimates via eBay and this is to go with it - I might make a smaller version for a shelf to display my GB minimates but at this point there are no plans to produce these for sale - but when all is said and done I will upload all of my designs from the past couple weeks, possibly as 1 zip or rar of psd files so anyone can re-arrange the details (furniture, windows etc) to their liking so they'll be customizable too - it would be nice to get someone at DST interested in this (I have Matt Diamond on my facebook) but that likely wont happen, they'll likely just do basic sets that can encompass many of the minimate lines and not just one or two...
