  1. It is about time we got an Iron Man comic wave. I'm guessing the strategy here will be similar to the one when wave 28 (Wolverine comic wave) was released around the time of the Wolverine Origins film (and the film Minimates) for maximum exposure.
  2. I was really annoyed that the Space Police stuff never got to the UK. We've gone from Power Miners straight to Atlantis!
  3. Looks like DST are really pushing the unlicensed stuff, which is good to see as we as a fandom have been clamouring for this kinda thing for years. Firefighters, SWAT team, pirates - it's worked for LEGO and other companies for a long time. I am really liking most of the new offerings but the mechs leave me cold for some reason.
  4. I am sure DST's current good relationship with TRU is a major factor in the existence of the MAX line.
  5. Also we have to remember that DST can solicit ideas and licenses here all they want, we know from bitter experience that if the retailers don't get behind something, it won't come out. DST have always shown a reluctance to do non-licensed Minimates in the past, saying they are a tough sell to retailers, but here we are with a new subline and more possible MAX stuff. I'm guessing the current relationship with TRU and the success of the Ghostbusters line has allowed them to try to spread their wings and try to get support for these. Don't get me wrong, I am totally stoked about a pirates line, I'm just saying not to hold your breath.
  6. Pirates should be very cool indeed. Halo is definitely worth a shot, especially with Reach building anticipation. Have DST suddenly got a Mega-Brand's employee on board, as these have both been Mega-Bloks things in the past. And oh my goodness, I pressed Next on that Pirates image, and got Universal Monsters. Then Ghostbusters. Then Star Wars Clone Wars! And I thought YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS! But no Minimates logo
  7. HALO seems a good fit, with plenty of games out and a new one on the horizon. Iron Man has proved Minimate armours can work well at the scale and there's also the chance to bring in vehicles. But I would love Mass Effect Minimates. As Mini-Myte said, the larger figures are being done by DC Direct though so it's very unlikely.
  8. I think my wish for Minimate pirates is well documented. What was the film with Gina Davis in? Cutthroat Island? That'd do nicely!
  9. I'm surprised these are going over so well, the Universal Monsters stuff has never interested me. I think they are doing the right thing by making them a limited annual series.
  10. For what it's worth, I think this has been a very interesting and thought provoking thread that has been handled in a very mature way. Also: Boobies! I'm still gonna get these, but then I don't have any kids so I guess for me personally, Minimates are an adult collectable.
  11. Welcome to the Multiverse, I'm sure you'll find it a fun and friendly place to stay
  12. Having read through some of the links including the video, I'm all for these. They are definitely at the adult end of the scale if we're talking about the comic but the Minimates appear about as racy as the original Indiemates set in my opinion.
  13. I can't access any of the links at work (stupid filters!) but from the comments these sound like they'd be similar to Witchblade? So, I'm in!
  14. Looks like LEGO are having a lot of fun with the idea! Great stuff
  15. I would like to see a poll or something, see how everyone feels about it. I know we don't want to see hundreds of threads all talking about the same topic but there may be a more formalised way of doing things which we could bring in.
  16. I've moved this into the Customs forum because I think more people here would be able to help you.
  17. Personally speaking, I would like to see more threads on different aspects, ie for Iron Man 2 you have the main waves, the TRU exclusives, and the AFX/convention exclusives. 3 separate threads, which would each be easier to follow than one giant thread, like the Ghostbusters one.
  18. Good stuff TM2! I will be reviewing the dioramas at MMC soon. I am very pleased with them
  19. Actually BHM I think Wave 28 Wolverine nailed it. No more are needed, that's now the definitive one.
  20. Thanks Rad, I have added a "non-Bizarro" score to the review! For what it's worth, I think that Supergirl Minimate is right up there with the very best DC had to offer, she's gorgeous!
  21. As I don't really want spoilers I probably shouldn't be keeping up with the release info for Iron Man 2! I wonder if the Mark 1 and Mark II are there for storyline reasons or to just bulk out the waves as reuses?
  22. Thanks to everyone who pointed out the Stargirl copy and paste shambles! Serves me right for uploading it in a rush! I'm sure the Bizarro score is not actually a 1/10, I will check with Rad to see what he would actually give it.
  23. I really like these and would probably end up buying loads on impulse if I saw them.
  24. Would echo the Carnage sentiments, one of my favourite ever Minimates and no need to update him, however he's probably due a new one in the next Spidey assortment because they do seem keen to refresh the characters every now and again.
  25. Don, if you install a game to the hard disk and then finish it, you can delete it (with an option on the Games menu) this deleted the game files but does not delete your save files, allowing you to play it again when you like. Currently I am obsessed once more by the universe of Mass Effect, with the sequel. It's taken the original, ruthlessly culled the flaws, and come out with an outstanding game again
