  1. I was a completist until a few years ago, the Marvel/LOTR/C3 era. Then the sheer volume of other licenses and extra product got too much to cope with, so I stopped, now I just get what I really like the look of.
  2. AFX's shipping to the UK is, uh, rather high. Wave 28 as a whole sold like hot cakes, and the Deadpool set in particular was very popular.
  3. At the Multiverse we've had these "convention promos wanted" threads before and I know in the past Tim and Shane, among others, have done an awful lot to try to get the promos into the hands of people that asked for them. But there will always be more people that want them than there are the chances to get them at the convention. Demand for these things will always outstrip supply. That's why there's so many going for a high price on eBay, and that's why the threads do not work. Because not everyone who wants one and asks for one, will get one, despite people's genuine best efforts to make that happen. It's not like the short-packed TRU exclusives, those are not in any way as location and time limited as convention exclusives. And, as indicated above, people don't just go to conventions for the exclusives, they go for the convention. In short, as much as it's distasteful, sometimes you do just have to bite the bullet and go through eBay. A blanket appeal for help on these is unlikely to get you anywhere, through no-one's fault.
  4. I get most of my stuff through Luke's Toy Store. His customer service is very good and he's a longtime friend from this forum. The downside is international shipping (which is still reasonable compared to some sites). I also know from experience that the poster above me is very good at getting the stuff you want. The downside is having to deal with him
  5. Yeah I'm sure this has come about because they had an absolute ton of product to get out from China at once and the factory they got to do this one was, er, not the best. Which is probably why they hadn't previously been using them, except to make any Minimate that Rad buys.
  6. Initially I thought it could be He-man, but that doesn't fit with Chuck saying it is not a big license. However Thundercats is a good guess cos unlike other 80s properties such as He Man and GI Joe, there's been no action figure reboot, so it isn't asbig a license as it could be.
  7. Thanks for the transcript Tim. During the session I was writing down (on paper!) the questions and answers, never even knew you could dump the whole log into a document!
  8. Thanks to people who have peppered this thread with pictures lately. At least we can see how absolutely shoddy and diabolical they turned out. I wish I hadn't preordered them cos to have all 4 Minimates in the set buggered up in some way makes it a complete waste of time. However the one saving grace is I think they'll make an entertaining read for Minimates Central when I review them! I bet your set isn't looking too bad now groundhog? I think some of us would like that set instead!
  9. http://www.artasylum.com/blog/2010/03/iron...-em-right-here/ Borders are getting an exclusive IM2 set of Mark IV Iron Man and Battle Damaged Whiplash. Chuck said that this will be in a full assortment of IM2 Minimates at Borders and not just a single exclusive pack. I would imagine they are getting some of the LCS wave as well. Thanks to everyone who took part yesterday, it was a lot of fun, and obviously thanks to Chuck for allowing himself to be grilled so hard. It was very cool being in a "live Q&A"
  10. I believe we will get a full transcript up soon. Sam, I asked your MUSCLE question and got a very intriguing response! Chuck says they have another 80s property up their sleeve and to think HARD about who it is.
  11. See, those look better because there is a slight contrast. All one colour is a bit dull.
  12. 12 to a case, not sure on the case breakdown, perhaps others can elaborate. Thanks for the pics max, you seem to be "Johnny-on-the-spot" for new product a lot of the time and you always get good pics up which I am sure is appreciated by all of us. I think these do look considerably worse than the prototypes, because they look very soft in sculpting, ill defined. The colours they used are very "toy-ish" and the lack of any other colours for highlight make them look a bit drab
  13. They certainly do seem to be really putting a lot of weight (and figures!) behind the IM2 line. I think getting a new retailer on board off the back of such hype is a really positive step.
  14. According to FoxClocks (thanks again Bob!), there's only a 4 hour difference between US Eastern Time and UK time. So the chat should be at midnight for us on this side of the pond. Result!
  15. Not that the UK could've got the exclusive anyway even if they hadn't gone bust Anyway, seems like I will be hitting up my lovely US chums again once this comes out
  16. I'm also guessing it's just a Borders US exclusive. I'm not sure Borders UK even exists now. Oh well, my idea of being a completist with Iron Man 2 stuff was always going to be a tough ask. It is good to see that there is interest from a store other than TRU though. Who knows what this could mean for the future of Minimates? Somewhere like Borders could conceivably take up the kind of exclusives Tower Records and FYE used to.
  17. That's what happened with the TRU exclusive Gauntlet Tony Stark set too, wasn't it? It just had the back of the LSC wave on it. I expect they just do that if there's an odd exclusive here or there, for cost reasons. I'm sure the TRU exclusive wave will have its own back picture showing off the wave.
  18. Yeah it's a Borders IM2 exclusive, packaged with Battle Damaged Whiplash, from your link above.
  19. I'm not sure BHM. I used the clock on my laptop's toolbar to try and work out what Eastern Time was relative to us.
  20. I really like that packaging. The light blue background makes the font look retro, it's cool
  21. But... But all pre-orders will be fulfilled, right? *puppy dog eyes at Luke* I need my army of stuff for Iron Man to fight! I think DST were testing the waters with these somewhat, and have probably been caught out by demand. I do love getting a case of these army builders like Cylons and T2, because it's the only time these days that you get the case boxes. I haven't seen any pics of any artwork for the single packs or the case box yet, though.
