  1. Any idea when the second season of Batman Beyond comes out? Need to finish that series up for my collection.

    No release date yet, but they have been releasing sets every three months so either December of this year or March of '07 would be my guess. More than likely we'll see JLU vol 3 & BB vol 2 in Dec (probably same week Superman Returns will come to DVD) and TT & tB vol 3 in March.

    DVD Sets so far..

    Released

    * Batman: TAS vol 1-4

    * Superman: TAS vol 1-3

    * Batman Beyond vol 1

    * Justice League vol 1-2

    * Teen Titans vol 1

    Upcoming

    9-19-06

    - The Batman: The Complete Second Season

    - Teen Titans - The Complete Second Season

    Unknown

    * Batman Beyond vol 2-3

    * Justice League Unlimited vol 3-5

    * The Batman vol 3

    * Teen Titans vol 3-5

  2. Can anyone confirm/deny this for me? The free movie pass stickers aren't on any of the S:TAS Season 3 packages that I've seen. I can't imagine that they would put it in Brainiac Attacks and not the Animated Series...

    Got my S:TAS v3 from Amazon, didn't have a sticker on it but came with movie pass

    Got JLA v2 from Wal-Mart, no sticker, no movie pass

    Brainiac Attacks at Wal-Mart had a sticker saying free movie pass

    Know of several people that got S:TAS v3 from Wal-Mart, Target, etc with no sticker but did have movie pass

    hope that helps :D

  3. the good:

    * was a beautiful looking film, very well done with special effects

    * good acting by everyone involved, even Cyclops was good :lol:

    * good story. it worked for me; I had read some of the spoilers before and didn't think it would work at all, but I was pleasantly suprised

    the so-so:

    * the action scenes; not so much the "wow factor" I was expecting

    * the love story-triangle-square-whatever it was; felt more sorry for the kid than any connection with the other characters

    * the "piano scene" <_< has good posibilites for the future but doubt it'll work; just doesn't feel right

    the bad:

    * climax; umm where was it :huh: I must have dozed off and missed it

    * speaking of pacing, this movie felt long; the LOTR movies were long but didn't feel long

    * sequels: doubt there will be one b/c of cost and lack of returns on this one but if they do, it'll be Luthor again; don't get me wrong, I like Luthor, but give me somebody, anybody else (Darkseid, Brainiac, Doomsday, Metallo, Bizzaro, or even Mr. Mxyzptlk :P )

    Grade: A for Effort, B- for Execution, and B+ Overall

    Superman 2 was so much more fun than this film :P

  4. We had a nice little help/advise thread in the old forum for customs, so wanted to bring that back to life. So all you customizers out there share your knowledge!

    To get you going how bout these questions:

    * What paints are best?

    * Pros & Cons of sculpey.

    * How to accessorize?

    * How to paint straight lines?

    * Pros & Cons of templates.

    * What programs do you use to create designs?

  5. What does everyone else think? I was going to buy it (cuz I'm a completist and I want the movie pass), but if it stinks that bad, I'll just pay my way into Superman Returns...
    What you don't believe me? :P lol, jk; S:TAS season 3 comes with movie cash too, so you could go that way. Brainiac attacks was just bad all around:

    * different voices for Brianiac & Luthor (Luthor was voiced by Powers Booth, who usually does Grodd), such a minor detail but really messes you up when watching

    * does NOT fit in with rest of the TAS/JL world; "Writer Duane Capizzi, who is a supervising producer for the television series The Batman wrote the script for this movie. In an interview conducted with Toonzone.net, Capizzi confirms that the film only uses the designs of the animated series, but is not in continuity with it, making it's close attachments to Donner movie concepts all the more easy to use."

    I'm on Volume 3 Disc 3 of B:TAS & I'm confused. Some of the episodes have the new "Adventures of Batman & Robin" intro and some have the old one. I know that these episodes aren't in exact order of airing date, but are they even remotely close to being in "official" order???
    If I remember right, one of the special features talks about the intro. "Adventures of Batman & Robin" is used when Robin was in the episode and the other when he was not (Robin was in the movies around that time so wanted to capitalize on his resurgence). As far as order, it's somewhat close, it's the order that Bruce Timm wants. The main thing that's off is the end of seasons/total number of episodes per season.
  6. Well, don't everyone start discussing at once now. Man, this was Lurch's idea and he didn't even both to post. I'm saddened :(
    I just have to get all worked up first; then I'll post all my rants :D lol

    What special features (new or old) would you like to see in DVDs and how would you like them to be used?
    All animated/kids movies need to take note of new Disney movies with FastPlay and do the same. All I should have to do is put the DVD in the player and my daughter's all set, no need to hit play, no menu to select, just let it run; not me swerving all over the road trying to hit the darn select/up/play button because A Bug's Life wanted to start out on the scene selection screen :angry:

    DVD's to avoid :angry:

    - LOTR: Limited Editions {up yours New Line, in my mind there is no "original theatrical edtion", you have no power here}

    - Alien 3 Director's Cut {don't watch the director's cut, unless you really want to appreciate the original version}

    - Superman: Brainiac Attacks {CN soo saved me money on this turd; catch it on TV, rent it if you have to, but don't buy; S:TAS has movie cash for Superman Returns too so buy that instead}

    Movies on DVD that are worth seeing, in case you missed them

    - A History of Violence {good story, good performances, good movie, you probably missed it at theatres}

    - Suspect Zero {same as above}

    That's all from me for now. Totally agree with you on seeing the actor's in animated movies. JL season 2 has a good little bonus feature that shows the actors behind the voices with some cut screens of them acting, it's good stuff so check it out (GL's voice is neat to see, interesting change from normal to deep).
