  1. I used good old fashioned brute force and stern looks.
  2. I think you're off by a factor of ten there... wouldn't you be over 1,000 years old? Also, I'm betting by the year 3,000 that toys will have advanced so much that they only require *one* AA battery to operate.
  3. Shanester, next time pinch your Gwen Stacys to make your voice go higher, then we'll know you're mimicing Adam.
  4. Of course what Amazing JL hasn't mentioned is that all the Thanos/Surfer boxes also contain a distilled haze of Smilex that will infect you when you open the boxes giving you instant madness! Madness! Damn this timezone. Congrats to the winners.
  5. So I received my $10 Batcave in the mail last night, actually cost more to ship it. Delivery guy left it behind the trash bins and left a note saying thats where it was. Luckilly the local kids weren't watching him. Anyway, opened it, started building it, found there were a handful of blocks missing, which didn't bug me too much. Didn't have nearly as much trouble as Danny although I feel your pain Danny, I really do, but I figure I'll toss the cave and build my own out of LEGO anyway (keeping the phone, the closet, the clock/lift combo, the screen, etc) Eventually got around to releasing the minifigs from their plastic and wire prisons, Joker said thanks, Bruce Wayne yawned and Assault Batman shot me with a batarang, again, not too peeved, in fact pretty impressed with them. Went to dress Bruce up in his movie Batman outfit and the cowl was ripped. Grr. Thats still not the most annoying part. When I was done following the instructions there was still this little pile left, and I spotted one final thing to build. A sort of... mini wall with a blue spinning shield thing. It doesn't attach to the Batcave anywhere, its sitting on the carpet a few inches away and I have no clue what its supposed to do. Thats the thing that bugs me; what the hell is that thing?!
  6. The Frank Miller Playa Hater's Thread Although to be honest I agree that Strikes was a weak sequel and that All Star isn't worth the paper its being printed on. Returns as a stand-alone story is as good a Batman story as I ever expect to read (Until Loeb surpasses him) I got my Batcave in the mail last night so I'll see what I can put together. Unlike the Batcave itself which was missing a handful of blocks. Grrr!
  7. Holy crap! Now thats a winning combo. Luke314pi I bow before the master.
  8. Damn, you're right. And a car too. Okay, we could call her... RedTigerFire
  9. Maybe they could have her die driving the family car through a storm with Peter safely in the back only she gets superpowers from the storm and bursts out of the windshield as the all-powerful... uh... Firebird! Yeah, firebird. Anyway, she eventually turns into the Dark Firebird and Peter has to kill her while listening to Dark Side of the Moon, dressed as Spidey Black otherwise she might destroy continuity as we know it. Then they can resurrect her every now and again and kill her off in various special double issues and maybe add a few miniseries. And they can even kick off a whole new Spidey series called Spider-Factor where the original MJ turns out to have been coccooned under the car the whole time... Totally original plot I just pulled out of my head there. Joe Q is welcome to it.
  10. Maybe Marvel bought a bulk supply of black ink?
  11. MJ died? Spoiler! Wait... no, forget that, why do I care, I'm an X-Fan.
  12. Oh, I get it. His voice didn't change when he was mimicing Adam though, hence the confusion.
  13. Ew! Keep your hands on the keyboard! And Shanester, what do you know that we don't? Give us a hint?
  14. TBT, as my mother taught me, it doesn't matter if you win or lose, so long as you win. But seriously though, I had so much fun making my cover I might make a few more and start a new thread with them.
  15. Turner minimates would need 50% extra plastic for the chest parts. Hey thats not a complaint, I'm just saying. How Fathom manages to submerge beneath water is beyond me...
  16. I have to agree with Gillbob's assessment of the appeal. Personally I have half a bookcase of Marvel but only a small stack of DC trades but those DC trades are all Batman/Superman/Justice League and the Javelin has two characters that might never otherwise be released (don't wanna jinx DC, just saying it how it is) If I was in with a chance I'd probably want a Javelin too.
  17. Because then we can hold the world to ransom and demand more minimates production lines, even absurd lines that nobody else wants like Thundercats and Dilbert. Or you meant the Luthor minimate in our hands?
  18. Start thinking even farther into the future though, when your grandkids come to you, starved for entertainment and you bring out the Minimates you've kept, wrapped in raw silk in a redwood case padded in velvet and they can't believe what they're seeing; actual tangible toys, not virtual ones.
  19. Ah but drgnrbrn316, its easy to make X-Men customs when there are so many X-Men parts available. Thats probably why we're all going for X-Men covers, whereas you made customs I can't work out how. I had originally thought to do the cover to Dark Knight Returns, but then I saw the thread in the DC forum where everyone blasted it so I didn't expect to get many votes for it. Donny, I look forward to seeing your rendition.
  20. I don't know if America's Best Comics counts as Indy since its an imprint of DC, but a box of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen mates would be my choice. That and Cerebus the Aardvark. Come on, Dave Sim would give the license away for a box of cereal these days.
  21. Much better pairings for Spidey and Iron-man, its a punch-up in a box. I won an ebay auction for Spiderman/Gaijin Wolverine 2 which I hadn't seen on any checklists either. I mean who wants Mariko anyway?
  22. I'm a sucker for the bat-babes so Huntress, Ivy and Catwoman are high on the wishlist. I'd like a Superman Red Son variant too with the hammer and sickle on his chest. How can minimate-Braniac be considered evil when he looks so ickle? 13-level intelligence maybe, but I just can't take him seriously.
  23. Thanks all. I had to assume it was allowed since I have the gatefold version in my bookcase, it makes me feel old to think that I went and bought it from the store the month it came out... And Thing makes a great Beast when you give him Wolvie's hair and paint him blue, but Ghost Rider makes a better Gambit. You could still give it a go Donny, you could make a better version than me.
  24. Hey everyone, long time lurker, first time poster and if anything can break the lurk its got to be this kind of challenge. Gillbob316 this ones for you; Made all the tougher by no Gambit, Psylocke or Beast figs, but I think y'all can see what bits went where.
