just got my snow-job, flash, and crimson guard today.............and man, in my honest opinion, these are the 3 best figures i've seen. they are also 3 of my top ten from the original line as well, so It may be an unfair comment on my part. I am actually thinking about buying a handful of snow-jobs, to make an arctic team(maybe some minor paint variations to go with the character), because every head i switch onto him looks great, even zartan, but beachhead looks the best i think so far. a little back story for ya, me and my brother got our first gi joe's at the same time, i was given grunt, and he got flash, and i remember being a little jerk because flash looked so much cooler, plus the grunt i got was missing his weapon (the package had a small opening and it fell out) but now flash is all mine for the first time in 25 years....yaaaay!

Hey Crippler, you are right, I do got some, well, have had some done for awhile now, just really haven't had the motivation to do a lot of posting lately. School and work are taking a lot out of me, so I am pretty much in lurking mode. I was just about done the Panthro and decided to scrap him, just wasn't too happy how he was looking, and want to start a fresh one. I may have a pic somewhere of the wip if you'd be interested in seeing it, I think a few of the gang have seen it some time ago. I have a feeling there will be one unveiled soon, but not by me The one major project I have put a lot of time into is my lego Christmas street, which I will hopefully post some pictures before the 25th Thanks for the praise man, I never know how the reception will be when I post a new custom......my name is nervous for a reason, lol

You are not alone CRIPPLER, I too am in a funk with the mates. Could be any of the following reasons for me: 1-going to school has me thinking about other stuff, even though my first major project centered around minimates 2-Believe it or not,lately, there may have been too many that have come out for me too enjoy them properly 3-Within a matter of two weeks, I got my two biggest wants-Thor and Hawkman- which were such a relief to finally have.I was so afraid of this, but, I have spent sooo much time thinking about these two mates in particular, and now that I have them, there isn't one mate now, barring the announcement of G.I.Joe minimates, that I need to have. There are a few that I want to get, like Red Son Superman, Archangel, and Hawkeye, but my feelings now are "I get 'em when I get 'em, no big deal" 4-The hunt for G.I.Joe 25th anniversary figures 5-A recent transaction that left me holding "the toy you will never own"-according to an issue of Toyfare Thanks again you know who

Just picked up Shipwreck, Stalker, Red Ninja, and Zartan........man do I love these figures. Stalker may be perfect, and Shipwreck is just about perfect, except for the fact he has a closed fist...which fits him to a tee, but I just prefer an open hand to hold one of the three guns he came with. After seeing the wave with the Crimson Guard, Snow-Job, and Flash...they may be my 3 favorite ones to date....and don't get me started on how cool the mail-away Doc looks

I think I agree with Tim, and Jeff on this one. I would kill for the "swivel-arm" articulation, like my favorite toys growing up...G.I.Joe the only other thing that would be nice is an ankle swivel, so the can stand with their legs spread a little more, and still be flat on the ground.........someone did this to a mate, i think spiderwoman, and it gives a nicer pose in my opinion ps. Reideen, why must you tease me with that picture, I have been waiting for these suckers to come out forever

Hey Guys, Haven't been around too much, and may not be contributing too much for some time (unless some contests show up ) I have started school ...finally...graduated high school in 1991 . The VA (Veterans Affairs)is paying for me to go to school for graphic design and animation. So, if anything, maybe some school projects will allow me to do some cool stuff animating minimates (long way away) Hopefully I will be able to hang up my work boots, and trade them in for a nice comfy chair. well, anyway, back to the reason for this post...my latest custom. This one has been in the works for me for some time now, and have been done it for a little bit now, but wanted to wait until the new owner(who didn't know I was making it) could open up his new package...I think he was a little surprised(at least I hope so)... can you guess who it was for?

I feel something may have happened in transit, unless I am mistaken, I think DST is in Maryland, around two hours from where I live, so they should have arrived in no time at all, based on the email I did get saying they were going to be shipped out the next day. I think the thing that is irking me, is the lack of a response to my follow up email, asking if they were sent.

Ok so I emailed them the day before they came out, and explained I had 2 sets that would be waiting for me. I was told they were going to be shipped out the next day.....................................still waiting for them . I wrote a follow up email last week, and asked if they were sent..........................still waiting for a response . This is killing me, being from the Philly area, I couldn't wait for these dudes to come out, and my boxing rocky has a stupid looking replacement hair, which seems now it may be his permanent hair. sorry to complain, I try not to do too much of that around these parts, but it is just getting to me worse as the days go on.

Not sure if I am alone in saying this, but In my personal opinion, the Marty Mcfly may be the single best minimate produced to date! especially now with the addition of the skateboard, the way the rolled cuffs are done, his face, hair, and vest shirt piece. I also love the accessories of the 24 set, perfect for my G.I. Joe/Cobra customs

Hey guys thanks again for looking, and the comments :biggrin: vbpanizzi- The printer I use for most of the decals is an ALPS MD1000 and isn't made anymore by ALPS, I believe they sold the rights to a japanese company a few years ago, which (from what I hear/read) sells for a few thousand bucks. It enables me to lay down a white undercoat, and actual shiny metallic colors. as far as the designs go, it is 95% me, I do use other stuff sometimes as a guide and rework it to fit into my designs

They are out, picked up my Avengers, and Zombies! been there since yesterday, and I was the first one to buy any...yaaay! oh yeah, wolvie has an alternate hairpiece, and luke, spidey and hulk have the pointy venom fingers. Cap's head is one molded piece, and wolvie's boots are now one piece with a L and R stamped into them

I have been wondering the same thing, It is pretty frustrating for me not to see a ton of pics/chatter for this wave like the other waves when they are released. Maybe moreso since Thor has been my biggest "want" since I started collecting Marvel mates. Oh well, Wednesday cannot get here fast enough I guess :sad: Ona a side note, I am wondering if I will get a "well I got him, now what do I do" kind of feeling, especially since my favorite D.C. mate, Hawkman, should be here next week.

hey thanks guys for the feedback, and I think ole trappy is going back to his original head, I knew I prefered it as well, but wanted to see what you guys thought. here are a few others that have been done for awhile. not much in the way of super tough customs, but just a few quickies. first off, here is how I like my Hal, going grey...like myself...just repainted wildcat's black hair,and I added a decal to his lantern. another semi-quick custom, Alan Scott. I didn't want to go all out on him, hoping a real one will be coming very soon and lastly, I always hated the big boxy chest on the Martian Manhunter, and when I got him, I trimmed out the green, and left his red straps, but then one broke, so this is how my MM looks now, and I personally like him the best this way :biggrin:
