  1. Did any of you ever watch Step by Step at any point in your life... Ya'know how a lot of times Cody would sing the blues? That inspired me to write this song... *Do Do, Dah Do* I got the blues... *Do Do, Dah Do* I got the blues... *Do Do, Dah Do* I got the, "Been over a week since the contest ended and there still aren't any winners and it's not just that I don't know if I'm gonna win or not but I also wanna see everyone else's pictures, but I can't 'cause it's takin' forever, and ever, and eveeeer" blues... ... PS. If you sing it the same way Cody did, I swear, this post was funny. If you're not familiar with the show, then you probably didn't grasp the humor. Hehe. PS2. I'M JUST KIDDING. Take all the time you need to judge them fairly, I wouldn't expect any less. I just think some of us are starting to crack with anticipation. Hehe.
  2. I'm too lazy for anything more than a quick-custom, so I won't be changing it. Personally I've always prefered UDON Taskmaster... in the modern Blue and White costume, from the Deadpool/Agent X Series. I'd love to see him and Deadpool in a 2-Pack, with Agent X as the variant. Mostly because reading Deadpool and Agent X was when I first got acquianted with the character... I was always an X-Book person. Never read Avengers growing up (do now though) so I wasn't familiar with him before then. So to me at least, the blue costume is like "classic" Taskmaster... even though I'm perfectly aware that too the rest of the world it's the other way around.
  3. It's a nice display... but there are a couple things I don't get... such as... Blade is fighting Darkseid... What!? Look there's Spider-Man... Look there's Spider-Man again... Phew, there's Carnage... Wait... there's Spider-Carnage? Still a very nice display though... I too cracked up at the cowering Sentry... that is so in-character (Which is sad when you think about it)
  4. What the heck is with the freaky half-hulk, half-green goblin mutant hybrid thing you have in there?
  5. Are you saying that the box had a bearded Thor on it, but contained a normal Thor, or that the case contained no variant pack at all? If it's the 1st one, that could be factory error, but if it's the second one I'd say it's far more likely that the comic book store just pulled it and/or switched it, and either kept it for an employee or sold it to someone else. And I's say it's unlikely you'll get a replacement. For replacement purposes, the variant and the regular are usually considered the same thing. I one got a broken variant Spider-Woman/Spider-Carnage, and they just sent me a regular Spider-Woman/Spider-Carnage... So I doubt you'll get one, but hey, who know. *Shrug*
  6. Throw in a Black Knight and Black Widow and we'd be all set. A niced themed box set of Black Panther, Knight, Widow and Black Bolt should be made. The packaging would be orange just to be ironic-like. As a hardcore X-Men fan, who doesn't know a whole ton about the Avengers, other than when they cross into the X-Men, I'd have to say I would think Black Widow and Black Knight would both be higher on that list than Swordsman and Mantis... I'd also put Tigra before them... just because she gained more notoriety from the cartoon series a few years back. Those two I've heard of... as big headliner types... Swordsman and Mantis I just kinda go "Who?" (I've heard the names, but know diddly about them beyond that) Then again, there are probably scrub X-Men I'd love to see made long before Havok and Polaris, who are already in production... so to each his own.
  7. We're refering to Iron Chef America, not America America, you're taking the word out of context. : P
  8. Yeah, like, 1 day a week on top of that... It sucks.
  9. I hate America... I wish they'd show the original again... Well I don't -hate- America... it's alright... but the original was WAY better, so I'm resentful toward America because that's all they friggin show anymore...
  10. Only if I'm Gilbob316! I'm wondering how wise it is to antagonise the judges at the moment? I've fixed your names in the list and added a couple that somehow slipped off the list. T. I wasn't antagonising, that was just friendly banter.
  11. Well that's good, because I thought it was PST in the 1st place. (Now that i look back at the original post, I see that it said EST, but PST is usually what's used since it's the latest one and all... that way everyone's midnight has passed) and I'm Central, so it's not even midnight yet where I am, and I just sent mine, so I'd have been screwed. So you have my thanks for your leniancy.
  12. My variant Thor had a locked up knee that I had to deal with, other than that no problems from the Avengers or the Zombies... Why do people use Hot Water? Seems like a lot of trouble to go to when a blow dryer achieves the same effect in mere seconds... and you also don't risk water damage to the paint using a blow dryer... Whenever I have a locked joint problem or a distored accessory problem (Like bent swords or Wolverine claws) I just blow dry it for about 10-20 seconds and it loosens up joints and makes parts bend quite easily to whatever shape I desire, without breaking... been doing it for years... (Works wonders on messed up bent ass heroclix, for anyone else who plays the game)
  13. While I would like a few GI Joe Minimates, I wouldn't want a whole line, so I have to disagree with the majority on that one... I voted for Turtles without hesitation... Turtles I'd buy every last mate. Personally I was never a fan of the GI Joes at all... I like Cobra... Cobra Commander, Baroness, Destro, Mindbender, Serpentor, I'd get them all. The Joes, I probably wouldn't get many of at all. Video games, I went with Mortal Kombat. I'd LOVE most of those lines, but Mortal Kombat is one of my most favorite game stories/franchises ever, so I had to go with it. I'd buy them religiously.
  14. I already have them... Shin Akuma and Evil Ryu I missed however... I got a 4-Pack with evil Ryu on clearance at Toys R Us this week, but frankly I don't like how his plastic flesh, non-painted head mis-matches my regular 2-Pack Street Fighter mates, so I'd prefer to get the 2 pack from somewhere... If anyone has a clue where I could, I'd appreciate the heck out of it.
  15. The peg hole always went all the way through the head... Checked my Invisible Woman (Oldest pegged Marvel figure I can remember) just to be sure and yep... The peg hole always went all the way through the head... That's nothing new. I'm pretty sure it's so they push in easier... the air has someplace to escape too that way.
  16. Who in holy-heck is Dennis Carradine? You'd think you would have gone with Flash Thompson, or Aunt May or J. Jonah Jameson... I'm pretty damn up on my Marvel trivia, and I have to admit I don't have a clue on that one... Is he The Burglar? (I, like many people, have always just called him the Burglar...) Personally I think I'd actually prefer Flash or Aunt May to another MJ, stick one of them with Series 1 Pete. I also see absolutely no reason to make Rosalie Octavius... lame character, barely in the movie... so in series 2 I'd swap her out for J. Jonah, and re-arrange the sets a little to make more sense...
  17. Good news for me! One stop comics got their minimates and I got my Beardly Thor! Rock, rock on!
  18. I like the movie mates, but I'd prefer them as boxed sets instead of actual waves... I hate that 4 waves have been taken over by movie-mates, when waves like 16, 19 & 20 are so much better. (At least in my opinion) I'd like more X-Men... Jean, Rogue, Iceman, Cyclops, Archangel, Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, Magneto, Mystique, Sabretooth, Toad, Deathstrike... pretty much everyone. I'd also like Daredevil, Kingpin, Elektra & Bullseye... and Green Goblin & Doc Ock... I think Punisher would be neat... maybe with The Russian? I dunno. Not may other good characters in that movie. And bad movie though it was, I'd like a movie Hulk and Absorbing Man 2-Pack too... I'd love a Rise of the Silver Surfer wave. Well, like I said earlier, I'd prefer a set, but as a wave I'd like: Reed & Doom, Johnny & Surfer, Sue & Thing, & variant... Phasing Johnny or Wedding Dress Sue or 1st Movie Doom... tons of variant possibilities there... Basically, like everyone else, I'd like everything.
  19. Mini-review of the zombies, because I'm bored... Col. America... As much as I find his exposed brain icky and gross, I like this mate... Diamond went the extra mile and made a new head sculpt, that they'll probably never find another use for, to make his head stand out, rather than just paint rips and brains onto a normal Cap head... Also, except for his head and chest which have exposed organs, I could totally see some of his parts as useable for cool battle damage when mixed with parts from a normal New Avengers Cap. So all and all, a succesful mate... Spider-Man Again, a fairly good mate... I love the clear plastic effect on his leg bones, though I don't like the one on his crotch... his crotch is also a clear piece, but it's like... half-painted, so it looks like his torn hip is just kinda floating there... for no good reason. I'd have just given him a solid crotch, but all and all he's not a bad minimate. Power Man... Again, a succesful mate, and good use fo the clear effect... I tried using some of his parts to make a battle damaged Luke out of my normal Power Man, but now that the crotch/waist peg is bigger, and since the original luke has a O hole instead of a <> hole, it didn't fit... which is a pity, since Zombie Luke's parts would make for a decent battle damaged Power Man... Still, a nice mate all by himself. Hulk... I think he could have been better to be honest... His legs and head are really nice, but his big chest piece doesn't fit well on the normal mate at all (In fact mine has a noticable gap when you look at him from the bottom up) so it's loose and floppy looking... not snug and believable, like some of the big chests we've had in the past... Plus it's way too flat... which sounds weird, since all mates are flat... but for some reason it's more noticable on Hulk... On the plus side though, like I said, his legs and head are nice. I really like his hair sculpt, and am glad they're re-using it for Defenders Hulk. Wolverine... I think he's the worst of the bunch honestly... I don't like the sculpt on the new cowl, I don't think it fits very well, and the eyes aren't sculpted in any way, they're painted on flat, like the newer Batman mates, so they end up looking really flat, and since he has his mouth cut away, unlike batman, it's real noticable how much further out his eyes are from the rest of his face... if you get my meaning... I think this new cowl was unsuccesful, and hope they don't re-use it in the future (Though I fear they will, since there are no sculpted "zombie" blemishes like cap... I fear they made it with intent to re-use.) I also have no idea why he's big-chested... Wolverine is supposed to be a runt... a tough runt, but a runt... why give him a big chest and not say, Power Man? I like that his shoulder pads are jutting out now, rather than painted on, but the combination of the big chest, and the ill fitting mask just turns me off completely on this mate... he's my favorite character of the 5, but my least favorite mate. On the plus side though, the new boots are nice. Wasp... I was surprised to see that her spinal cord was actually part of the same sculpt as her head... I thought it would just be a normal head with a small piece of wiggly bone inserted into it... This kind of upsets me because it makes it that much harder to kitbash a custom full-bodied zombie Wasp... should one wish to do so... also, her hair did come off, but the peg isn't the same as any other mate, it's bigger and has a flat side to prevent it from rotating while on her head... which makes me wonder if maybe it was actually supposed to come off or not... but it did... So, other hair will fit on her, but her hair won't fit on others. Anyway, still an awesome addition to the set... she's a character and an accesory all in one, who could ask for anything more!? Edit: I just figured out another reason Wolverine's cowl bugs me... the yellow doesn't extend all the way to the bottom of his nose like it's supposed to, it's just black all the way across from fin to fin...
  20. Because I got mine off with a little wiggling... but the peg/hole isn't like that of any other minimate head... It was bigger and had a flat side... so I'm wondering if it was supposed to come off... See... So I'm wondering if anyone else's was on more securely, or if they all come off...
  21. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY! *Curse the heavens* They didn't have the variant... well, I'd bet money they did actually, but they were playing favorites with a regular, so I didn't get it. I tried a second store nearby, and he had two variants, but same thing, 1 he was holding and 1 he was keeping for himself because he's a big Thor fan. (Which actually, I believe, because he has a huge display case full of miscellaneous Thor stuff in his store, so I can't blame him on that one.) They did however have the Zombies, so that was cool... It's not that I don't understand holding stuff for regulars... I mean... if I could get stuff held for me, I would, so I can't be mad at the people that reserved them... I'm just not happy about it... grrr... But on the plus side, the moment I got home I started calling up local comic book stores to see if they carried minimates, and if the variant was spoken for or not yet, and I called a joint called One Stop Comics, and the guy was actually very talkative and helpful, and he said they hadn't gotten them yet, but they expected a shipment around 1:30, and that if/when they came in he'd hold the variant and call me, so god willing, I should still have a beardy Thor before the end of the day. My only regret is that I already bought all the normal sets & the zombies this morning at the other store... if I could turn back time, I'd love to have given my business to this guy instead, and I'm going to be sure to tell him that this afternoon, and let him know if he keeps ordering new sets, I'll keep coming for'em. PS. I'm east coast, so yes, Zombies came out in all areas thsi week, not just west. Both stores had them.
  22. I'm going to check my local comic book store, and I hope they didn't get them in earlier thsi week and sell the variant already. And I also hope that they have the zombies... Wish me luck.
  23. I just recently realized mine has two left feet... I wondered if maybe they all did, so I went back three or four pages in this forum, to check all the pictures folks posted when they were originally released, and low and behold, one of the Beasts posted indeed had a right foot and a left foot... Furthermore, in one thread, I noticed someone else's Beast had two right feet. So I'm making this public service announcement for everyone to check out their X3 Beast's feet, and make sure his little toe is little and his big toe big on both feet... this is a tiny detail and I'm sure I'm not the only one who missed it... and for those in the same, or exact opposite boat as me, perhaps we can arrange trades, so we all get the foot we need. That is all.
  24. This news vexes me greatly, for I too am a person who relies on the East Coast delayed wednesday release to get the variant... All the way back since Frosted Iceman, when the brilliant scheme 1st dawned on me, so long as I showed up 1st thing in the morning on the day of a new minimate release, I was able to secure the variant... However, if the store I usually go to got them two days ago, that goes right out the dang window doesn't it? My only hope is that there's either a: Something fishy about your store, and it's just an isolated incident, or b: Even if my store got them Monday, that they enforce the Wednesday release date. (There's actually a very good chance of it, because it's a store that's very anal about release dates... sometimes they leave the door to the back room open, and I actually see things on a Tuesday, sitting in back, that shouldn't be out 'til Wednesday, and I whimper at the stupidity of having to wait a day for something that's sitting 3 feet away from me... this time however, it may work in my favor...) *Shakes fist* I better get that Beardy Thor... If you've made me worry for no good reason, I'll bash you good! (Just kidding, just kidding... hehe...) ... But if it turns out when I get there tomorrow that we're in the same boat, then I feel your pain.
