  1. That's good to know, Shane. Otherwise, I'd have to go downtown to every pub and ask if they saw a drunk Englishman.
  2. I bet a lot of these are going to be exported to the UK. And I always thought that Union Jack would be paired with Captain Britain. So does anybody actually have any of the Marvel Minimates still in stock at their TRU? I was at one over the weekend and just saw empty pegs that need filling.
  3. So assuming 1 minimate shown per business day for 3 weeks, there is a total of 16 new minimates including today's Angel. No specific mention of Marvel. Prohibit sounds like “pending licensor approval”. Typically 4 minimates per box set. Hmmm… 4 different box sets across different lines? Marvel, BSG, Star Trek, Terminator. Aren’t those the only 4 “active” lines? What I really want to say, though, is an AFX exclusive Marvel Minimate box set of 16 all new characters! Or maybe an AFX exclusive wave, like the Target exclusive Marvel Legends stuff. Man, my head hurts from all this speculation that’s going to be way off… This is fun!
  4. I had my comic shop order these when they popped up in the Jan edition of Previews. Then, they show up again in Feb Previews. Same exact page (number, description, text, everything) in the Marvel Previews catalog. I think it was page 77. Anyway, Feb Previews are for June items and this is the second time it was solicited so does it sound like there might be a delay in getting these? Ship date still says May, though: http://www.artasylum.com/blog/2009/01/ship-date-update/
  5. My initial impressions from when they were first announced were okay, nothing too exciting. But I guess that was because Iron Man moviemates were on my radar. I’m glad I avoided the pics here since I didn’t get spoiled too much and am pleasantly surprised on how attached I have become with this set. Wolverine with the normal hair looks like a definitive Wolverine to me, though I still wish he had the X3 claws. Also, glad these got released on both coasts! I hate it when the east coasters get them late. It feels like it brings down the release excitement a little bit. I mean, look at how many people jumped at releasing pics! Maybe it’s just me but I only remember people begging for pics, not stepping over their feet posting them!
  6. Sorry for the bump but I still had to chime in. Was out for the holidays and been busy since being back and haven’t had time to make a proper post expressing my excitement. This honestly is my second minimate WTF moment. First being TBT’s Bombermate. When I opened it and saw a back view, I was like, “where’d they get a Santa Spidey?” First WTF. Then I realized it was a wave 2 Spidey with a custom Santa hat. Second WTF since I didn’t know how the heck they got a wave 2 Spidey. But when I turned it around, it was a bigger WTF when I saw it was a Santa Spider-Skrull! And I still find it funny that his right hand popped off! I was thinking about putting it back on, but I thought I’d leave it as is since it makes me smile. Much respect to Limited Edition! And thank you and everyone involved for the fun! It was a blast seeing other characters too! ::puts Santa Spider-Skrull gently next to the Holy Bombermate #35::
  7. I don’t know if this has officially been stated yet, but I believe that Waves 23 and 24 are arriving in comic shops to West Coast-ish states first (1/7/09). Then the rest of the US gets them next week (1/14/09), which has always been the norm. My comic shop has them listed this week, but the shipping list for Diamond Comics doesn’t have them.
  8. It sold out on the AFX website a little before SDCC '08. But AFX officially sold out of the set during SDCC. They brought the last of their stock to the show. I was surprised to see them and that is what they told me. And by Sunday, I checked again and they were all gone.
  9. Someone at my comic shop asked what I would do with a bag full of these. I said that if I didn't order them, I would feel guilty if I just took a handful from them without paying. It'll still be hard for me to not take just one from them on that day, though... Also, I was showed images of FCBD M&Ms! At first I when I heard it, I thought we were talking about the minimates. They are blue and white and have special messages on them. I forgot what they were but I think it was the logo on front and "FCBD 09" or something on the back. I would be so tempted to buy them, but I wouldn't eat them and I don't think they would hold as well as FCBD Twinkies would. No, the Twinkies don't exist but the M&Ms may if your retailer decides to get them...
  10. Weird shipping glitch, I guess. I ordered mine last week and it was shipped via UPS (not USPS). It's expected to arrive today too.
  11. See my post a few above yours to see how to get a one time use free shipping code on the TRU website. I got mine shipped for free. I caved in and ordered online partly because I don't have much time to keep stalking TRU since it's getting closer and closer to the holidays. I'm wondering if there will be another exclusive when wave 23 hits TRU too... I hope I didn't jump the gun and use the free shipping code too early.
  12. I found this post at another forum handy for the exclusives. I don't know if there are any more additions or changes, though. http://forums.toonzone.net/showpost.php?p=...p;postcount=130 I already ordered the Bluray from Amazon, but I'm still tempted to get the Walmart single-disc for the comic...
  13. I don't know if this was mentioned anywhere but to anybody thinking of buying it online through TRU, you might also want to sign up for their rewards program too. Upon signing up, you will get a code for free shipping. I don't think our international guys can sign up for it, though. https://rewardsrus.toysrus.com/index.cfm And if you buy $150 worth of stuff, they will give you a $5 gift certificate back. And if you buy 9 diapers, you get 1 free! Rad: Thanks for the suggestion. I plan to email them about it just to bring it to their attention so they can give their factory a slap on their wrists. I don't think I need a replacement since I plan to find another set.
  14. This is actually closest to me than the other regulars here. It's about a couple of miles from where I live but on the other side of the little canyon. I was totally surprised by this but thankful that I've heard no reports of any injuries. I also work a few miles from where I live so from work during lunch, I could see the helicopter flying around but I couldn't see the smoke. Might also be because it is a rather gloomy day. My friend said he could see it though. It was the talk of the office after lunch. Kind of scary. It could have landed anywhere nearby...
  15. Man, I realized last night that my Stealth Iron Man has two right legs. The normal ones that come with the figure unattached and not the armor legs. I'm thankful that everything else is all good, though. I'd hate for anything to be wrong about the stealth armored figure after finally finding it.
  16. The one I went to had them on one peg. It was under some Super Hero Squad pegs. To the right was Hulk action figure and stuff. To the left was Spider-Man and Iron Man action figures. Note: This aisle arrangement is based on my not so always accurate memory and your store arrangement may differ.
  17. TBT: I was at the National City TRU last night. I remember calling one of the stores and they said they get shipments pretty much everyday, which isn't that surprising to me. So you probably just picked a bad day. About the comic shop, I think because of you, TBT, and maybe a few others, they started to buy 2 cases of waves so they would have a second chase for the others who asked. But I don't know if they still buy 2 cases anymore. It seems that sales have slipped a little after AFX started selling full sets with chase. But that's my unconfirmed thinking. And Dinobot, a TBT man-hug makes everything better. But then you feel icky afterwards, kind of like a bad aftertaste. Just go to SDCC and try it out firsthand...
  18. Oh crap, I just realized I meant the wrong store. I actually meant National City, heh. I get them confused sometimes since they are both pretty far from me. Either way, I figured the Morena one would be picked off first. Darnit! Why can't we be more spread out!
  19. Yeah, I got all the packs except the Iron Man one. None was there. I figured they restocked recently. And if I don't see any Iron Man packs, I'm blaming TBT! Even if it's not really because of him.
  20. Thanks for the presents daddy Shane! For the San Diego area folks, the La Mesa National City store had 2 Shocker packs and 1 Kraven pack left last night. You know, after I got through them. Edit: Typed wrong store location.
  21. A big thank you to Limited Edition for this surprise drawing!
  22. Judging by the character list between waves 23-26, waves 23 and 24 were decent waves and could be better. But how can you top waves 25 and 26? Can you, DST? I bet you can! I mean, other than a wave full of just Spideys Spideys Spideys.
  23. I just recently got a PS3 mainly for Little Big Planet. I played it at my friend's place and it's really, really fun. Too bad all the setbacks surrounding the game is causing Amazon to get it into my hands mid/end Nov. And I preordered too! Boo.
  24. Yes! More room for Spidey! Thanks Chuck!
  25. I can think of one, kind of. Sandman in the Spider-Man 3 wave. The sandy version. Ummm... yeah? Maybe?
