  1. This pack looks amazing! Magneto is the star, but the other three look fantastic too. I can't wait to get these!
  2. just tried the hood and cape with taskmaster and i must say looks killer i didnt paint just tried it and i think you have a great idea! Cool, glad to hear it looks good. I would, but I really don't want to spend an extra $8 when I have a suitable cape and plenty of paint lying around. If the paint doesn't come out looking good I'll do that then.
  3. I finally got the pack I wanted, so now I have Lockjaw with Black Bolt on the shelf. I'm kinda tempted to paint Betsy's hood and cape white and give them to Taskmaster.
  4. Right on. I reread AOA a couple months back and its epicness still holds up today. Despite being in the dreaded 90s, it really is a great crossover. Better than any of the crossovers like House of M, Decimation, Second Coming, or whatever 'event' Marvel has these days that just end up fizzling and disappointing. Yeah, AoA was a great crossover. It had cool new designs for characters, a fully fleshed out universe that had its story nicely taken care of in 36-or-so issues. Ignoring the prequels and the 10th anniversary nonsense, I'd say AoA is great. I hope we see more characters from the AoA in the future.
  5. I'd love to see Morbius, Hammerhead, and many of the others. Shroud and the Nightshift would be great too, but I think my biggest want is Beetle. I'd love to see both Beetle armor and his Mach I-V style armors.
  6. So it's a good day to be an X-Men fan, huh? I'm really excited about the AoA variants. So we have Weapon X, Jean, Apocalypse, Dark Beast, Cyclops, Magneto, Rogue, and Sunfire. That's pretty darn awesome, even if there are others left I want to see (Holocaust, Morph, Blink, Sugar Man, X-Man, etc). opefully the "maybe" on DC mates means good things.
  7. If this was the Carmia Parkway store, I apologize for grabbing both sets last Wednesday; I've "adopted" a board member in the UK. From what I can tell, though, the Southpark Mall store still hasn't gotten these in yet. I still see the exclusives from the last wave at some of the stores, so I'm hoping these will at some pint be equally abundant. It's fine, folks in the UK have to get these too. If you spot more of the exclusives, could you let me know?
  8. Found this wave today, but the Lockjaw and Hulkbuster packs were already gone. Hopefully we see more in my area since I'd really like to get Lockjaw.
  9. Songbird. The Thunderbolts just aren't complete without her, and I'd like to start seeing more classic T-Bolts.
  10. Well since the Sinister Six, Excalibur, and Avengers sets are pretty well taken care of, I hope we see more attention for boxed sets for the Wrecking Crew and Inhumans. Since we already have Black Bolt, ideally we'd get Triton, Karnak, Gorgon, and Maximus in a boxset. Crystal and Lockjaw would make a better 2-pack, and Medusa could be released along with Frightful Four team members.
  11. Looking back at the poll and the control art, I think we made off like bandits with this whole Secret Wars thing. We now have Beyonder, Captain Marvel, Storm, Dr. Doom, Molecule Man, Spider-Man, and Spider-Woman from the poll, and we get Klaw too. I don't care if we get the energy variants for Beyonder and Captain Marvel, and there's still a good chance that we see Ben Grimm later in the line. Props to DST!
  12. Storm looks great, and I'm glad she's coming with a fun villain like Klaw. Good call on this pack, DST. Looks like the whole Secret Wars thing has worked out quite nicely.
  13. I got the Bullseye/Moonstone pack that I wanted, and I never cared about the Angel/Warpath pack, so I wouldn't buy any more of them for myself. However, if they were rereleased as 1 per case again, I think that folks who missed them the first time around would have a much better chance of getting them (especially with help from fellow board-members). Also, at 1 of each per case, I don't see them clogging the threads. I'm all for DST helping the collectors who couldn't get these the first time.
  14. Where in VA? I'm in the Richmond area, and the wave has hit here.
  15. I got the Swordsman/Surfer set and the Scorpion set the other day, and these 'mates rock! Swordsman makes my T-Bolts lineup nearly perfect (Songbird, DST!), and Silver Surfer and Scorpion have joined a huge minimate battle. I'm still trying to decide whether or not to pick up the old man pack. Hawkeye look cool, but Wolvie's face looks a bit off.
  16. I think you'd need a big name in there to sell this one. Loose Speed Demon and add Hulk. He was the T-Bolt's first enemy and is a regular nemesis of both Boomerang and Rhino. We can always use another Hulk anyway. If we can get a 4-pack with Mephisto, Thanos, Adam Warlock, and Drax, I'm sure we can get a Sinister Syndicate pack without one of the big guns.
  17. Well we could get Beetle in a 4-pack with Boomerang, Speed Demon, and a Rhino update. I don't care about getting classic Fixer or Goliath as much. Classic Thunderbolts: Mach I, Songbird, Citizen V, Atlas Classic Thunderbolts 2: Moonstone, Jolt, Charcoal, Hawkeye 2-Pack: Baron Zemo / Techno (with swappable head for human/robot) That's how I'd try to do the earliest of the 'Bolts.
  18. I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I'd like to clarify my stance: I really do like this wave, but I want more new characters in upcoming waves. I can't wait to get the Jean/Cyclops and Beast/Rogue packs. I think that these repacks only feel so blatant since we now have 6 versions of Beast, 10 versions of Cyclops, and 10 versions of Jean Grey. Rogue getting a 2nd 'mate doesn't bug me at all. And yet, the X-Men that I would want the most right now are all redos or variants (Brown costume Wolvie, Colossus, Nightcrawler, punk Storm, and Shadowcat). I guess I'm just a hypocrite.
  19. How many versions of Jean are left? If we were to get a Jean Grey/Beast 2-pack of their outfits from that pic, we could stop with variants for Beast and Jean. I like what DST has done with this wave, but I hope that we get more new chracters in future waves. 2 new characters is kinda low.
  20. If it weren't for the fact that Jean is a perfect packmate for the Hellfire Club guard, I'd say Dark Beast is a great choice for variant. As it stands, I'm just clueless now.
  21. Jim Lee Jean Grey with black queen variant. Omega Red That's my best guess, as I can't think of any other important villains that Lee created. not off of the top of my head.
  22. These all look great so far, eve nthough Beast has a few things off about him. I feel like Jean Grey should be a give nfor this wave, but the last 2 have me wondering. Also, after this wave I think that DST can take a break with the X-Men's main cast. This makes 3 new Cyclops and Beast 'mates recently (four Beast 'mates if you want to consider the Secret Invasion set recent). I hope that we see some of the members of the New Mutants or Generation X when DST next returns to the X-Men related characters. Or, you know, some villains.
  23. I didn't think that Jim Lee X-Men would excite me much, but it's neat to see minimate versions of these characters in their costumes I saw growing up. That said, I'm getting kind of tired of variants of the main X-Men characters. Let's get some new folks in the line!
