In my daily ebay trawl I noted the Cosbaby version of the Wandavision Halloween pre-sale Witch . Like I said above I haven't seen the show but I was more than surprised  irritated to see that the colour scheme of Wanda's leg apparel looks identical to that of the earliest Minimate version .   Maybe it's me ??

It's authentic. Kinda like how this MCU costume of Captain America was right out of the comics.

  2. "Never say never!" ?

A 10-pack wouldn't be a bad way to offer characters from the series all at once in a higher price point more attractive to retailers. It could offer key characters for the uninitiated, alternate/new versions for veterans, and the kind of obscure supporting characters the brand in known for offering.

BTW I struggled to get my fix of the SDCC 2016 versions, they were initially tough (for me) although I'm now covered. Despite my comments above I liked that set & the fact that it exists is perhaps why we are not getting a  'Wandavision' pair...too similar?

I thought the problem with the Vision from that set was that he never appeared in that outfit in the film. Which is a risk manufacturers run when they rely on information from an unfinished film. In this case, DST could gauge interest AFTER the fact.
Personally, I'd just as soon make my own civilian versions of my favorite heroes thanks to the mix & match play pattern of the figures so my 10-pack might look more like:

    • Wanda (Halloween)
    • Vision (Halloween)
    • Pietro (Halloween)
    • Billy (Halloween)
    • Tommy (Halloween)
    • Wanda (Final)
    • Vision (Final)
    • Agatha (Final)
    • Monica (Final)
    • Jimmy (Final)

But if DST also wants to put out a Valentine's Day 2-pack with a black & white Wanda & Vision, I'm down with that.

  3. Given how difficult it's been to time the release of the product with the movies/shows, can you imagine getting episode 9 Wanda and Vision months before series aired?

Personally, I'd prefer to wait. As much as DST (and retailers) like to strike while the iron is hot, there's much more risk and potential disappointment when trying to anticipate which characters will be in demand. As cute as a 1950's sitcom Wanda & Vision might be for a Valentine's Day release, collectors would be pretty upset if DST never got around to offering them in their final costumes.

  4. Minimates are part of the license agreement. We'll just have to wait and see if DST decides it's morphin' time for the brand.

"The new range will span multiple categories of collectibles, including Gallery Diorama PVC sculptures, Premier Collection and Milestones resin statues, Legends in 3D half-scale busts and Minimates mini-figures. The first products will launch in Fall 2021 at comic shops, specialty stores and drug stores worldwide."

  5. Honestly, with the Halloween costumes, there's an entire assortment here. Back in the day DST would have even offered up Jimmy.

But, yeah, after seeing the finale, I'm fully expecting to see certain designs in the next Doctor Strange movie. Hopefully that flick gets some Minimates love. Sadly, there are no guarantees.

  6. I'd like to think that there'd be more support for a dropship just because collectors would likely want more than one. I know I would. Add the figures and give them enough parts to make alternate versions of each character and I think it's a home run.

Not sure if DST still has the license though. I had hoped that when they exhausted Alien they'd move onto AvP but clearly that hasn't happened.

I think the worst part about it is how lackluster a wave this is for me.
All I see when I look at 80 is an obstacle between me and the incredible looking 81/82.

That being said I’ll probably get Ghost.

Ghost looks great. I'm a sucker for any new/updated Iron Man armor. 616 Mockingbird is now off my customs list and Deathlok is off my wishlist. (I'd still love Agents fo SHIELD versions, though.) The Spider-Woman update is cool enough for me and Constrictor tugs at my nostalgia strings.

Series 81 is a bit lackluster for me since I'm not a huge fan of X-Men but the FF designs in 82 look awesome.

I'm just happy to see new 'mates!

Can we crowd fund a Bishop and Ferro

That might be a possibility through DST's new site if they're so inclined. It's taken them this long to take the site this far so I'm not sure if I should say "but don't hold your breath" or suggest that there's new momentum within the organization.

If Transformers and GI Joe go the way of Rocky III and John Wyck, I'd say the line is done.

I don't think that's going to happen personally, and hope these licenses will help minimates regain some market share.

But it also concerns me that they don't seem concerned with maintaining a web presence for product lines other than what's for sale right now. We'll see how things shake out. Fingers crossed.

I tend to agree. If DST has finally dedicated some human resources to their web store then I expect it to be updated accordingly. It'd be great if a "GI Joe Minimates" Google search led to a placeholder on their site that read "COMING SOON!"

But, yeah, it's all about the pre-orders. Hopefully if folks decide against Transformers that don't transform and the assortment gets canceled, it won't stop DST from soliciting other lines like Power Rangers and Micronauts.

  10. That's gotta be frustrating.

I've only ever had one issue with Luke's. It was recent and quickly resolved to my satisfaction. Fortunately it didn't have anything to do with shipping though it did involve one of my grails. I was worried that it had gotten lost in the current discombobulation of the USPS.

    2. That Rangers reboot movie was deeply underrated and I’m about equally sad that it’s not getting a sequel as I am that the Kelvin Star Trek films were killed off right as they figured out some form of an identity.

Same here. I was hopeful that Power Rangers would get a sequel after the Hasbro acquisition but at this rate they'd have to do a passing of the sword to a new cast.

Similarly, the Trek films seem to have fallen victim to the reunification of Paramount and CBS. As someone who feels Star Trek should have stayed on television anyway, I'd be fine if the next feature went directly to Paramount+ (AKA CBS All Access). Otherwise we'll just have to wait until Kirk shows up to relieve Captain Pike on Strange New Worlds, I suppose.
