  1. And wave 4 has been pushed back to August. Looks like BSG is not a good line to have if you want to sell toys
  2. Spirited Away has to be my number one Ghibli film. I can never get sick of that one. I happen to be one of those kids that is a giant Ghibli buff. Don't really know why though. I also love Disney, so that could be a part of it. The stories just seem so rich and better then the Disney I grew up with. I also once got in a half hour conversation with a random man who was purchasing Howl's moving castle, turns out he prefers them for his children over anything else. Ghibli News here: Ponyo is (hopefully) coming out over here on August 14.
  3. I might be misunderstanding you a bit But only if you compare shows to toy lines. All the shows back then (about 25 years I am saying) had shows to drive toy lines. Today though, shows pop up left and right, a lot from Flash, and most don't have any merchandise. Back then it was a cartoon for toys, today it is a cartoon in hopes of toys. Anyway, to get back on topic, does anybody here watch Studio Ghibli stuff?
  4. Well, for anime I really like Ghost in the Shell and Ghost in the Shell S.O.C., Initial D, Cardcaptors and one show I bought the complete DVD set of is Witch Hunter Robin. IMO, the best anime out there. Many will argue different. I will buy everything Studio Ghibli whenever it is released as well. For Manga, I like more the American series done in a manga way. Mostly Takeshi Miyazawa. I am really looking forward to the BSG Tokyopop coming out soon. Other that that, I don't pay attention to any new Manga/Anime coming out. Good idea for a topic though.
  5. If truer words were ever spoken, they would be in the New Testament. This thread is starting to remind me of the old Titanium Basestar Hasbro once promised us. Curse you BBTS for teasing us like the girl next door. Curse you!!!!!!
  6. Dude, I love BSG. I buy whatever I can, I even go after the QMX Ship Replicas (go ahead and look how much they cost ). But one thing I have learned from the constant clearance sales is that BSG don't sell above cost. I wish it did. I wish Hasbro did more when they had the license. I hope the DST action figures will continue past wave four. I really hope that the Starbuck bust gets released. You say there is "obviously a demand" from collectors? And how many collectors is there? Fifty of us? A hundred? Just because a handful of collectors have a loud "voice" to get these made does not mean there is great demand in the market. DST seems to know that which is why the only chance these get made is if a specific retail picks them up. I am sorry if I am coming off as a dick. You who know me know that I want these like crazy, but I honestly see these going the way of SF2. Also, one more thing. Those of you who really wanted to see these released, did you actually try to make sure these were made (when they were a preorder) or just hoping they would come out. By that I mean did you order a set from an online store or order a case through you LCS. That makes a big difference.
  7. Correct. I've been ripping DVDs to my iPod so I can watch on the train to/from work. SWEET!!! I will be waiting by the mail box for my no prize.
  8. DST has announced the Dark Avengers Minimates Set, Dawn Red Skirt PVC, Ghostbusters Mates, Ghostbusters Bank, Star Wars Bank, Transformers bust. Strange how there are not any BSG or Trek stuff yet. AFX is going to have a jetfire bust, there own mate set.... Gentle giant: McQuarrie fett bust, Halo Master Chief Classic Bust, Harry Potter Professor Dumbledore (Richard Harris) Mini Bust, Star Wars Blackhole Stormtrooper Statue, Star Wars Darth Vader Breast Cancer Helmet,
  9. The DVD set is Battlestar Galactica season three (positive). The case on the top of the pile is disc four.

  11. This is just a little bump for myself. I want to thank a few people who have helped me with some points: Thank you entertheninja! Thank you jcastick Thank you the punisher=D And to say I am always looking for points if people are not going to use them . Espically the ones with bluray
  12. Thanks minijeff. Before I was posting this, I was thinking who would most likely have a bunch of Disney DVD's. Your name instantly popped into my head. Thanks
  13. I feel the same way. About the last minute, Other than that I loved it. Very sad to see it go. Guess I will have to fill that void with Marvel comics, Star Wars novels and Caprica.
  14. This is a call out to me fellow MMMV members. Anybody on here that enjoys a good Disney classic or has a house full of kids might know what these are already. For the rest, I will explain a little. On some Disney DVD cases you will see in the corner a little red star that has Disney Rewards written on it. In those cases there will be a piece of paper with a code written on it. You would take that code, go to there website, enter it into your account and get points. You can save up these points to get cool stuff for free from this website. (Kinda like that icoke thing I believe) I am collecting points to get the future little Ms. pickle those awesome Disney classic collections. In other words, Disney Satues. So far I have been able to collect enough to get the Fox and The Hound set, which is about 3,100 points. Most DVD's are 75 or 100 points and 125 for bluray. We all know how much Disney movies cost, so it can take a long time to save up this many points. On to the point of this new topic. I am hoping that some members here who own some of these DVD's and don't plan on using the points will send them to me via PM. It would be a shame for those good useful points to go to waste. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to wonder what this new topic by pickle is all about.
  15. So... There is this thing called TFcon at Toronto in a little over a month. I am thinking about going. Mostly just to fit in some kinda toy convention this year. Here is the website: www.tfcon.ca . They have a cool looking exclusive, but the ticket price to go to the show and get him is about $150. Do you guys (TF collectors) think he would be worth getting? And are there any of you here that would want him? Mind you, he will not be cheap to get as to buy just the tickets would be around $50 for what I want to do at the show. Thanks
  16. Thanks TTF for the answer, bu it was actully a joke. EDIT: But not a very good one.
  17. Last I heard, Namor is under license by a different studio. Fox can't use that character. If this F4 Film gets tied in with the new Marvel studios story (Hulk, IM, Avengers, etc) I might be excited. Also, how will the actors from the first two films feel after signing on for three films if they are not picked for the new film. I think a reboot of a F4 movie will be stuck in legal limbo for a while before it even begins toget filmed. I say screw the whole F4 film and bring us the Silver Surfer movie we were once promised. All hail Galactus?
  18. Caprica up for preorder??? http://www.nbcuniversalstore.com/detail.ph...63fbafd88376d59 When is this on television?
  19. I hope that the last episode or even the upcoming TV movie answers the question of how exactly Baltar managed to get to where he was in the miniseries. The scene where you see the blast and Six shields him from it. They have yet to truly answer that one. The complex characters is what always brought me back every week. I am gonna be very sad to see this show end, but so glad we get an ending. Also to get a little discussion flowing, who is your top three favourite characters? Mine are Baltar, Starbuck and Phelan.
  20. Anybody watch the Oscars? Anybody hear Philip Glass' Metamorphosis (one or five, can't really remember) during one of the awards? (Montage of the Oscar nominated documentaries) Anybody ever see the episode "Valley of Darkness?" Do you also remember the music Starbuck's father played? I thought it was kinda neat, and I felt like a super BSG geek to be able to point it out. The album is called Solo Piano if anybody wants to hear it.
  21. *For the people who want to know what the green stuff that comes with Ultimate Iron Man* There is a (fairly decent) novel called The Ultimates: Against all Enemies by Alex Irvine. It gives a great example of what it is and how it works when Iron Man takes off his armor.
  22. Ummm, why does the Skrull have on a big purple diaper? And would he not look better with the shorter feet?
