  1. I'm a Vision and Hawkeye away from having my Avengers Dream Team... soon... soon... I dunno why my camera phone took such a blurry picture...
  2. Something cool about getting an entire set in one purchase. I'll never be missing naything from set 16
  3. Believe it, I'm typing this using Mjolnir to hit the keys
  4. So I just picked up the whole shibang, and as much as I LOVE this set, what kind of fan would I be if there wasn't some dissecting? Here we go! First off, the packaging... I know there's a whole thread on this, but what really bugs me about the packaging isn't even the boxes, but just the presentation on the front. I liked the X-Men 3 concept with close ups on one character with another in the background, that was kind of cool. Here we just get a really silly orange color with the characters off to each side... something about it just didn't seem very dynamic. Also the images on the cover aren't representative of whats inside, facial features, coloring, and even certain sculpts are very different. Onto the figures themselves... Loki - Not too much to say here, it's a good Loki figure. There's nothing I would have added really, except I would have liked to see him with a smirk rather than a scowl... he's a trickster, not someone so serious. Thor - Something about the Helmet, or the paint job on the face, makes it so that he has a huge forehead... there's just too much room from his eyes to where the helmet starts. Varient Thor - Couple of things bug me about this one... for one thing, the chest piece does not match the one on the box, and essentially it's the EXACT same figure and sculpt as the normal Thor, just with a different paint job. I know this is just a variant, but I like my variants to act as different figures... oh well. Also, I just don't think this was the right choice for Variant... Wonder Man would have been a better choice... Wonder Man - The only thing I don't really like about this is the hair... I would have prefered jet black as opposed to brown. However, as mentioned above, I think Wonder Man lends himself better to a variant. I don't think anyone really cares about "Bearded Thor"... but could you imagine an energy Wonder Man? Transparent purple with red spots and possibly a stand kind of like the one Human Torch has? Now THAT'S a variant, my friend. Hell, I'd have even prefered "Leisure Suit Simon" to the Thor variant. She- Hulk - The figure itself is very nice, and I was pleasently surprised to see the face was a different paint job than the one on the cover, a better one. The only problem with her is the ridiculous accessory... first of all, what the hell is it? I'm assuming a pipe, but mine's not silver or pipe looking, it's just a white piece of plastic. On top of that, it's the wrong thickness, it doesn't fit into She-Hulk's hands, you have to force it, and that can't be good for the figure. Going back to the Variant thing again, I would have liked to see a Fantastic Four uniform She-Hulk as a variant... again, that holds more meaning for fans, I think, than bearded Thor. Scarlet Witch - Perfect As Is Quicksilver - Perfect As Is Anyway, those are my bitchings. Over all I like the set... but when you wait so long for something, there's bound to be some whining
  5. This is one of the reasons why I want to get special containers for them... the boxes they come in don't match up, so it's hard to stack them ontop of each other
  6. You have no idea, I was actually thinking about starting one! lol
  7. I just checked ebay, nothing froogle.com either...
  8. Wait, that's real? That's not a costum? AA actually made a Captain Britain Mini-Mate???? When did this happen?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? It was a solo figure, not two-packed with anything?
  9. Is the Avengers wave still coming out next week?
  10. Yay! The Avengers mates come out the day after my birthday! And I ordered all the Zombie related stuff from AFX, how long will it take for them to get to me?
  11. Since we all seem to be pretty avid buyers, I was wondering what you guys were down? For me, it's... o Bullseye & Unmasked Daredevil o The Thing & Unmasked Dr. Doom o Power House Thing & Sue Richards o Thing & Transparent Invisible Woman o Patch & Lady Deathstrike o New X-Men Cyclops & White Queen o New X-Men Cyclops & Transparent Emma Frost o Spider-Carnage & Spider-Woman I o Firestar & Clear Iceman o Captain America & Nick Fury o Colossus & Days of Future Past Wolverine o Daredevil & Ghost Rider (Target Exclusive) DAMN. I didn't realize I was down by 12 2-packs... shittie...
  12. Yay ordered mine! I actually like ordering my MiniMates online better than buying them in the stores. The only problem is if you can't really just buy the 3 2-packs that come with each wave and the 1 2-pack that has a repeat and a variant. That's the only reason to go into the store.
  13. I was actually wondering how they got away with The Leader
  14. How can it be a Suncoast exclusive... Suncoast went out of business
  15. Will this be an exclusive thing or part of a set that hasn't been revealed yet?
  16. What "4-pack"? As far as I know there is: 5 Pack (Cap, Luke, Hulk, Spidey, Wolverine) 2 Pack (Giant-Man, Daredevil) 2 Pack (Iron Man, Black Panther) Wasp's head better be in there some where, I ordered those three items from AFX today...
  17. just got here. is it too late to bye a pack off you guys?
  18. Hmm, I guess so far. I'm still waiting for them to make this:
  19. not to be a whiner, but I REALLY would have liked to see a Wand of Watoomb accessory for Strange and a Trident for Namor... then it would have been complete
  20. *digests* OK, I kinda want what you're doing here: except, I want mine to lay flat not be a standing display, so I can stack multiples on top of each other. And I need it to be 11x11 inches so it fits in a specific place in my room. Uh, if I can't find something like that I swear I'm gonna get a costum one made... but where do you get costum little plastic storage containers??? *suppresses hulking out*
  21. I went to six, count that, SIX different stores today that specialize in crafts or office supplies and I could not find a single decently sized plastic tray or display case with several compartments that are the right dimensions for a minimate to stand inside. You'd think that would be the easiest thing in the world, but I looked and looked. I know there's another thread here with people showing their minimates in these kind of plastic containers, to add to my frustration, I now can't FIND that thread, so if someone could tell me where you people BUY these things, please let me know. I wish AA would just release a multi-compartment display case for minimates already, everybody wants it. ARRGH!!! Waste of my morning!
  22. The only two things that I think they should negotiate really, in my opinion, is the use of Vehicles (Ghost Rider's bike, Prof X. advanced wheel chair, etc..) and LARGE minimates. I'm not talking about those ridiculous statue 'maximates'... but maybe figures that are roughly three times as big (6 inches tall?) fully articulated like any other minimate. I want these to be distributed like the oversived figures that come with the Marvel legends line... where you'll get arms with one 2-pack, legs with another, head with another, etc... and then you can snap them all into place to make a larger sized minimate. My personal choices for this? Classic Giant-Man, a Sentinel, and... as silly as it sounds... a Devil Dinosaur The main reason I think this would be a very cool idea for Marvel Minimates to do is because it's something that DC HASN'T done yet, it's unique.
