  1. These still look very much like protos don't they? The paint apps are horrendous. Looks like some peoples questions about Batman have been answered. Full face slip over mask with another mask underneath. Curious that they've gone that route when the tooling for Batmans mask has been done before.
  2. Personally I prefer the blister approach. You can see what you're going to buy rather than what's supposed to be in the box.
  3. Don't get me wrong Tim, I loved DKR at the time but I can't re-read it. I've tried a few times and just can't get into it. It is still a great story, the battle between Bats and Supes is one of the most amazing things I'd ever read, but it has dated very very badly. Strikes Again wasn't it? Not that I'm trying to be pedantic, I'm not sure of the title either. So that one really sunk in didn't it? It started so well, all that stuff with the Atom in the petri dish... Then it went bad very very quickly indeed. Does anyone remember Batman/Spawn from the 90's? That should have been warning enough never to read a Frank Miller Batman story ever again.
  4. Dark Knight Returns was a great piece of work that has dated horribly. I can't read it anymore the small panels annoy me for some unfathomable reason. Sin City was and still is incredible, and 300 still ranks as one of my favourite graphic novels ever. In answer to RX78JJ the trouble with All Star Batman is the awful writing. It's almost a parody of his work on Dark Knight it's grim, gritty, and overblown, but in a really bad way. I'm also not a fan of Jim Lee's art on the book. Heresy I know but it seems rushed in comparison to the work he did on Hush just a couple of years ago. It's a bad, bad book but it's selling in droves. I guess it really is a case of either loving it or hating it. There can be no inbetween.
  5. ... Cos that's how you write a good Batman story these days. None of this recruiting little boys to fight wars or watching your mothers booby bleed for you!
  6. all will be revealed soon... STRIPPERMATES! Hot damn!
  7. Yes. Don't do it. Save it for the bedroom!
  8. Did you clock the Dalek battle pack with Cyberman? Very very nice. I'm getting seriously tempted by some of this Who stuff.
  9. Interesting choice for the Joker. I hope he does it justice. I'm well looking forward to this. Shame Katie Holmes is involved again though. She didn't bring anything to Batman Begins.
  10. Cyborg Supes. Superman Blue, Superman Red, Mullet head Superman, Beaten to a bloody pulp by Doomsday Superman. Moody Batman, Driven Batman, Surly Batman, Angry Batman. All exactly the same figure just with subtle variations to the facial expression. The kids'll love em!
  11. Really? Must admit I didn't check myself but I didn't think it'd be that high. You could always set up a trading list in the want/have section. There's a lot of good stuff that never makes it to the UK. You're bound to find people who'll trade figure for figure.
  12. Superb! Congratulations Shane all the best for the future to the both of you.
  13. Don't be so sure about that Alien Dog. These figures go for £6.99 or thereabouts in the UK. Convert that into US dollars Add about another £5.00 to ship to the states and see if it's still too expensive. Failing that, Diamond are bound to start soliciting the figures to US comic stores at some point. You may be able to pick them up that way.
  14. Dunno about other fans but I'm pretty underwhelmed by this years VOTC offering. The Luke x-wing and the biker scout are great but the Tusken Raider, Han Endor (last years Han Votc in a nice coat) and greedo are nothing new and don't really do the line any justice at all. Even more annoying, and probably more so for mint on card collectors is the mail in figure offer. You had to buy all five of this years figures and send in little stickers as proof of purchase for an exclusive George Lucas in Stormtrooper disguise. Now seeing as it's the VOTC mail in figure you'd expect it to be the VOTC stormtrooper body from last year. Which, in my opinion is one of the best SW figures produced in the modern range. But no, Unca George's noggin has been stuck on the frankly lacklustre body of the commtech Stormtrooper from a few years back! Anyone else think this is pretty poor on Hasbro's part? Sure, most people will keep theirs on the card in the hope of a retirement fund but all the same...
  15. How did they justify refusing to sell you one Danny? BTW welcome aboard 0.B.
  16. Slightly off-topic but while we're talking Sentinels.... Forbidden Planet International are selling the Sentinel Maximate for 40 quid on their website.
  17. Hey Jaycen, what's it worth for us not to send a picture of you and Amy Allen getting all sweaty to your missus?
  18. I like this tradition! Yeah? Just watch some bastard paste Shanesters' avatar onto her head. You won't like it then!
  19. Great icons from Luke and I'm also really pleased to see Stuckakid getting involved too.
  20. It did seem the most appropriate one to use!
  21. And obviously something to cover any paypal charges too. That's another way people can lose money. Just a thought guys.
  22. You know how I said I liked to use preview to avoid embarrassment? Maybe I should have never posted at all! God I'm such a f***wit! I was still looking in the posting area and completely missing the post preview just above it. I feel very very silly now! :spiderham:
  23. Weird. Maybe it's a safari thing. I'll try it with Firefox later.
  24. ^^^Ya think? I wonder how many more figures they'll put in?
  25. When I'm posting (unless I'm using fast reply) I always use the preview button. It helps me spot any glaring errors and saves me from embarrassing myself even more than usual. On other boards when you use preview any formatting you've done such as spoilering or links, shows up looking as it would in the actual post. On here it still shows the formatting. Is there any way to change this or are most people happy with preview as it is?
