  1. Hello! I've just become an enthusiast, up from contributor, so very exciting! Just wanted to say I always thought the badges were quite cool indeed, and was hoping to open the floor to features y'all recommend, enjoy, or even would like to see!

I wonder if we could have likes or reactions or anything like that; there's so much here I enjoy but that'd make me quite annoying if I quoted it all, all the time

Would it be easy to beef out Mini Figure Factions? scratch that actually it's probably blasphemy, y'all probably would rather see it condensed idk I feel like Mez-Its were quite important but I understand the big emphasis there is on were... please never decimate the Palz subforum tho!

also I bloody love this place, and have no real understanding of what it takes to make it run or do things like I've mentioned, so sorry if this post seems rude/cavalier, thanks for reading :)

  2. Thank you so much for all the replies gang! Especially you nandoninny that is so bloody cool mate, to say nothing of your own lil contribution there MisterPL holy f*ck congratulations and of course while I'm cussing, you're both certainly badass mofo's BHM :)

and of course to CylonChaney's point, the Geppimate is PEAK sig fig but between that and old mate with the cakes there seems precedent that solo, IRL person Minimates have the best gear: what would you have packed in with your minimate, if you were one?

I do hope this continues; maybe some of y'all recall the forum days Mattallica speaks of?

You have hit the nail on the head with that post. Bravo.

really got into X-Files Palz , I still hate their 'hands' but apart from that they sometimes get elevated to 'my most-loved' .  The most loved of my most-loved are a set of 4, Series 2 , Autopsy Scullys , each one is a different colour . They are sublime .

this emboldened me so much to participate further on the forum, so just thought I'd slip in a little thank you this holiday season what with die hard Palz and such

or maybe just any excuse hehe you're an absolute legend my friend :')

  4. some of y'all probably know the term from lego forums BUT does anyone have a (custom ofc) minimate of themselves/feel represents them?

unless we have celeb lurkers who actually have Minimates made of them...

I know Mr Oat's blessed in such a way but curious if that was anyone else's fancy

  5. Gotta concur on that "Weapon X, Lies and Video Tape" set/idea evolution, minifigvig/nessex, can totally see it amid the renewed interest the cartoon has been enjoying, and indeed, there's plenty more eps that could handle the six-pack treatment. I do love the idea of them all in the hex box too though, feels nice and...Weapon X-y lol I also quite fancy the spider-verse catch up MisterPL suggested, especially with how hot that property is of late also

After much deliberation I have decided upon the Panzer Cop ,Jin Roh Ken Roh (version ) . it's perfect.  If you've never heard of the 'Panzer Cop' (Hellhounds legend) be warned ,once you find out about it you may well get hooked .  Incidentally that license (also referred to as Kerberos ) has my favourite 1/6 figures , there are several .

Oh my giddy aunt bam you weren't kidding with that warning! much like many entries on my list, I always thought the Helghast from killzone, a game of my youth, would make fantastic toys and these panzercops were perhaps a major inspiration in their design (outside the obvious common ancestor) thank you as ever on that scoop!

Also very glad for the additional write-up on those Marvel chases my friend, many here mightn't know those strange lil entries and a very salient point on how the thrill of the hunt can be a big influence of one's enjoyment of the feast, so to speak :)

My interest in Kubricks has only ever really been when they made a figure we were missing from the Marvel Minimates line, so any 'grail' has shifted over time.

I wanted the hoverchair Xavier in order to customise a minimate of him for a while. I was *very* excited when AoA Morph and 90's Havok came out... but eventually, DST got around to all of them.
Because collecting and team-building is my jam, Kubricks have never been super high on my list.

Having said that, if they ever made Phoenix or Sinister, I would probably have to add them to my collection.

I love the morph Kubrick (wound up with him by chance) and had no idea DST had now caught up there, must check him out...one of my favourite things is the Kubrick and mate of the same thing side by side, having them duke it out etc I hope the hover chair was a decent fit while you needed it...I have a Xavier Kubrick and the early AFX wheelchair Xavier you've now inspired me to combine!

I just recently saw some Harry Potter mini figures in the girls doll section. Not sure of what exactly their branding is, but they had a train playset and a few other things. They looked to be pretty perfect minimates scale. Not the train itself but the interior bits. MIGHT be of some use to someone.

I'd love it if you could try find a name on the box next time you're kicking around there please, very intrigued but we non-US folks can't just check so easily hehe we must google! but googling Harry Potter minifigures obviously leads to a world of LEGO

Chest blocks / torso blocks seem to be an area that 'the powers that be' don't wish to be too ambitious with .  That said there are exceptions to my perception /that rule but not too many I can actually think of ....can you ?

I actually typed my reply before I saw Zach's comment ... I leave  my opinion.

On this note, and not to derail (and sorry to double post) but sooooo many of my favourite Pals reviews rave about the fact that female chests were moulded in that line, something I find more odd as the years go on/I age... perhaps this is more a factor of the early thousands though and less genuine appreciation/comparison with the plain mate block.

Personally I really like how egalitarian the minimate block is (I keep picturing it as an engine block as I type, so central it is) and that detail is all conveyed in line and ink BUTT (headsmate) I also absolutely bloody adore the exceptions to the rule: the clear torsos (I believe one of the earliest examples might be zombie spidey), the mutilated zombies of walking dead, the long and lanky middle of mr jack skellington...

but now I'm thinking of the best chest in mates (my gosh one could take me delightfully outta context throughout this post) the ones I enjoy the most and like, from Cylon to Spiderslayer to chestburster they're all bolt-ons and ponchos, as it were...which is to say I think these powers-that-be (love that bit of parlance for those anonymous heroes behind the scenes) won't be re-inventing any wheels on a backpack basis

I do love how you Joe folks know what you like though it's good discourse indeed and as ever I learn a lot ITT

I think it would start to either weaken the neck, or compromise the waist peg hole, or both. There may also be more moving parts involved in the tool, since it's a horizontal insert, rather than a vertical one. Not sure. BUT I'm sure it was considered.

it's so cool to be reminded that there's a bunch of boys (&other folks) in the lab doing, drawing and going back to the drawing board on perhaps the most important engineering of all 😛

I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone but i hope we eventually get some of these characters (i’m actually thinking of a civilian) in some form or fashion.  As well as some of the new heroes as well

this is probably peak minimate anorak but I'm halfway tempted to see the picture just so I can come back here with a guess!

Not usually one to muck around with the MCU but wakanda forever maybe wakanda tomorrow loving the discourse folks

I'm glad I looked this up, because I was about to post a new topic.

Classic Mega Man MiniMates. Yes, I know this would mean working with Capcom as a licensor, but these would be very cool and the modular nature of MMs would play really well with MM.

as others have mentioned ITT (many moons ago!) the Mega Man himself is a glaring omission from the (rather robust really) selection of video game mates we've gotten, and INDEED he and his brethren's striking, colourful colour schemes (and the mentioned 'mate modularity) seem like a beautiful and potentially iconic fit...

four heads a game + accessories, whack 'em in the retro video game's equivalent of the new VHS boxes and we're off to the races...

if whoever's reading is willing & able please kick this up the chain at DST robots rule humans drool 😛

  12. I know this is sacrilege but trust y'all may just bear with me, but what're some of your Kubrick holy grails? not necessarily rare ones or even expensive ones, could be ones you missed out on or ones you always liked the look of but could never get ahold of (that now go for silly money)

    - I'll start, as a kid I always wanted toys of, then noticed Kubrick provided
    1) the minority report spiders
    2) the T-1 (with treads and machine guns)
    3) the brick camo solid snake/with crocodile head in either Toyfare or a playstation mag (perhaps both)
    4) the twins in the matrix line (obviously a pair of them hehe)

and to give this post a happy ending, I'll have you know I've gotten my hands on 2/4 of those entries! indeed, I was lucky and got a lil job lot with not one but TWO spiders as well as troubled copper John Anderton...unfortunately I am still yet to manage to assemble the spiders, the balls are far too large for the sockets (bhm inbound lol) even though I try the hot water trick

  13. I'm sure I speak for many (and risk beating a dead one) when I say it's an absolute treat to watch you pair dropping the wordplay at such a gallop; a bit of a colt following for you funnymen and your horsing around no doubt but I digress. On to the mane event though, in chasing up bhm's (as ever) lovely bit of block figure history I discovered there's a (seemingly rather successful but I suppose they all say that) racehorse named Kubrick in my state (QLD) and for the first time ever I feel the pull of the punt 😛 whaddya reckon gang, yay or neigh?

It behooves us to pay respect to such a momentous moment in minimate memory, and sorry to buck up such a stable thread with such an off brand aside, just thought it was funny and not trying to be the centaur of attention or anything.. obviously I'm incredibly excited for the history making first minimate horse and hope the persistent legs won't be too much of a nightMare, y'know not stirrup too much trouble more spur on conversation: the glue that binds us all together here...as Cosmonaut Kramer often said: giddy up ;)

  14. These are absolutely gorgeous the packaging renaissance continues! Loving the DVD discussion; I too thought that it was real at first...a curiosity though, is (was?) it more common for promo&special stickers to be on the inside of rental cases in the states? or is this just a case of keeping them off the pretty box fronts/avoiding confusion perhaps. Absolutely stunning regardless & the minimates font looks a little new? or maybe just new to me

on a related note I think the weathered stickers near the dvd are a nifty touch indeed, even though I can't quite make it out (a bee perhaps?)
