TBT! Posted August 19, 2008 Share Posted August 19, 2008 MiniMateMultiverse Picture hunt...2008 Last years hunt was a lot of fun and so successful we decided to do it again!! Thanks to the nice guys at DST We have some special prizes that include a HUGE minimate banner that was liberated from the DST booth at the show breakdown, sets of blank minimates from SDCC and some single blanks. I counted a total of nearly 50 blanks are being given away! 1st prize. HUGE Minimate Banner from DST stand at SDCC. ( see Hunt buddies thread for images) Invaders and IronMan through the Ages minimate sets. Set of 5 minimate blanks from SDCC ( 4 colors and SCIFI Six) 2nd-6th places. Set of 5 minimate blanks from SDCC ( 4 colors and SCIFI Six) 6th and up until we run out of prizes One random blank from SDCC - color or type will be picked randomly. There may also be some secret challenges and/or random prizes as decided by the judges jsut to keep you on your toes. So what do you have to do? Firstly you need to read the rules below then create a unique Mini-Team-Mate who will be your buddy for all of your pictures. This can be as simple just a headswap, we just want you to have a unique minimate for your pictures. To register for the contest you must post a picture of your "Mini-Team-Mate" in the "Hunt buddies thread" This year is slightly different in that we are having 25 regular challenges and a few higher points challenges. Be creative, have fun and I think most regular challenges should be possible fairly easily. We are also giving each of our 3 judges 25 points to award to those pictures that they thought really stood out or made them smile etc. Obviously the winner is the person with the highest points total or in the event of a draw the best "Tie breaker" entry. All entries are to be submitted by email to huntcontest@minimatemultiverse.com The contest starts NOW and ends on September 14th at Midnight EST. The challenges Basic Challenges - 5 points each 1)Picture of your minimate riding a dinosaur. 2)Picture of your minimate dressed as a rockstar!! 3)Picture of your minimate in a supermarket buying fava beans and Chianti. 4)Picture of your minimate somewhere it shouldn't be! ( Safety first please!) 5)Picture of you and your minimate pretending to be DST Chuck and/or Matt. 6)Picture of your minimate in jello. 7)Picture of your minimate vs some ninja's. 8)Picture of your minimate being kissed by a cute girl. 9)Picture of your minimate re-enacting a historic moment. 10)Picture of your minimate with something really... really... really... small. 11)Picture of your minimate having a party with other toys. 12)Picture of your minimate in a jungle. 13)Picture of your minimate playing a sport. 14)Picture of your minimate pretending to be Shanester. 15)Picture of your minimate being eaten by another toy! 16)Picture of your minimate painting a picture of you. 17)Picture of your minimate desperately seeking Susan. 18)Picture of your minimate somewhere very high (Once again, safety first people!) 19)Picture of your minimate running for president of the USofA!! 20)Picture of your minimate re-enacting a scene from a video game. 21)Picture of you and your minimate that has at least 5 other people in it. (Time to go public with that addiction people!!!) 22)Picture of your minimate on a camping trip. 23)Picture of your minimate emulating another members screen name (Play nice!!) 24)Picture of your minimate with another minimate made entirely from foodstuff. 25)Picture of you & your minimate recreating a famous saying, phrase or quote. ~Bonus#6: Picture of your minimate going crazy with a highlighter.~ Higher Value Challenges. 1) Send us a link to an image or video of your minimate somewhere on the internet other than MinimateMultiverse. 10 points. 2) Picture of you dressed up as your minimate. 10-30 points depending on ease of costume and likeness. (Value decided by judges). 3) Picture of your minimate with a real celebrity (MMV defines real as the actual person not a picture or toy etc). 25 points 4) Picture of your minimate doing as many of the challenges from this contest in a single image as you can fit. 1 point per challenge. ( Note: This will not count towards any other challenges.) . Tie breaker... Create your own "Picture of your minimate..." challenge and then take the apropriate photo. RULES: By entering the contest you are confirming you have read and agree to the following rules. 1. MinimateMultiverse takes no responsibility or liability for any broken laws, damage or general mayhem caused in the process of getting these photos. You shouldn't need to but If you want to do something dodgy to get these pictures then you are totally on your own. 2. No Photoshop etc. These pictures need to be taken and submitted 'as is', any signs of photoshop will mean disqualification. 3. Only one picture per challenge should be submitted. 4. All entries must be submitted by email and any images posted here or at any other site before the contest ends will be voided from the contest. (We want to keep it fun and make you take your own pictures not have other people steal your ideas) 5. Any entries that we do not receive either due to timing or technical issues are not the responsibility of Minimatemultiverse. 6. The Judges will take into consideration artistic and entertainment value to decide if necessary the tiebreaker'. 7. The Judges decisions are final and not subject to appeal. 8. MinimateMultiverse has the right to change the contest or rules at any time. This includes but is not limited to the completion date and prizes Well have at it guys... Posted September 28, 2008 Author Share Posted September 28, 2008 OK folks Judging is done and we have a winner, The scores were horribly close at the top and as always judging something this subjective has given myself and the judges grey hairs!! 1ST PLACE: Resurrection Bob: The outright points winner and gets the HUGE SDCC DST Banner,Invaders+IM through the Ages box sets and a set of 5 blanks. 2nd PLACE: Max Carnage: Came a stupidly close second place, and in the spirit of how close it was will get Not only a set of 5 blanks But also an Invaders boxset. 3rd-6th: VBpanizzi, Bob Harris, God Magnus and Blacksun. These guys were really nipping at the heels of the winners and will recieve a set of 5 blanks each! 7th-17th: Everyone else that sent images of the challenges will recieve a random Blank from this years SDCC!! Murder of Crows: will get also get a random blank because his name was used the most for Challenge #23 Send me your postal addresses to the contest email guys and I'll get prizes out over the next couple of weeks. Well I think that wraps it up for another year, I want to thank EVERYONE who entered, the judging panel and especially DST for supplying us with almost all of the prizes we gave away this year. T.
