Kassle Posted May 12, 2008 Share Posted May 12, 2008 So, knowing that BSG will be showing 11 episodes in '08, and 11 in '09, it seems like our BSG 'mates may continue to have life in them since the series is still on the air for another year (which is the ONLY positive I can derive from the way that SciFi drags these seasons out). Cylons: "Natalie" Six Tory Anders Cavil Leoben Doral Simon (least interested in him, but I guess we might as well have 'em all) Humans: Ellen Tigh Billy Kekaya Diana Seelix Crashdown Hot Dog Racetrack But yeah - I gotta have a Natalie Six, a Tory, an Anders & A Leoben. Wave two and three came out when there were no episodes being aired, wave one came out at the end of season three on television. Honestly, when was the last time Star Trak had a new series on TV or when was the last BTTF movie? Seriously guys, Battlestar is a cult hit and as long as the same fans who loved the show continue to buy the toys it can be a long time before they stop making mates. Anyway, The minimates seem to be the only successful line of Battlestar Toys from Diamond, The Busts got cancelled, the Statues are in no high demand and the action figures seemed to stopped selling in general (most online stores seem to have them on clearance, and TRU Canada has sold barely any across the country). Besides, once a show is over it is not like that is the end. There are novels, comic series and even a whole new show based in the same universe in the making. Just as long as you stay a fan and want to complete the series, keep on buying them and they will keep on making them. We have Classic Battlestar Mates, when was the last time there was anything new for that Universe? I have not seen Richard Hatch write a new book since the new series began. Sorry for the rant, I just wanted to say that my fellow BSG fans need to have a little faith and to be truly dedicated once the show is finished if they want to continue the fictional life that is Battlestar Galactica. The ones that I want the most are: Racetrack Billy Kekaya Romo Lampkin The Character I want most but will never see is Phelan from The Black Market. If I added anything it would probably be some costume variants (that could hopefully be part-swapped with previous)like New Caprica versions etc. Although one thing (well two really) that I'd really like to see are some Viper/Raptor pilots in their "at ease" shirt/tank-top (I can't believe that the only one we've seen so far is an extremely limited promo. Starbuck), another would be a Colonial Marine. Preferably these would come paired in a manner to "army build" either together or perhaps even as an exclusive (but easily accessible) for those who wanted to buy multiples. I personally want one for each of my pilots (and Bridge, Techs, etc.), but don't believe that they neccessarily need to produce each one individually; just one male/ one female so that you could swap heads from their previous flight-suit/dress versions. If they came with a Marine, all-the-better, because you could build-up a nice 'lil squadron simultaneously (Cylon targets and New Caprica goons). So if we get a two-pack with the gray/black "undershirts" it would be pretty simple to get Gaeta, Lee, Athena, etc in those. (Frankly I'm surprised they haven't re-used that tampo from the exclusive Starbuck.) I'd love to see some more of the Colonial uniforms with the blue/silver stripe. IIRC, that's the color worn by most of the cast (Dualla, Helo, Athena, etc). Also, didn't they incorrectly give Apollo the red stripe? Anyway, as much as I'd like New Caprica versions of characters, I think I'd rather see folks that have come into their own over the series. That would include Anders, Tory, Leoben/2, Cavil/1, Simon/4, and Doral/5. Sadly, that's already a whole wave (put in an Anders variant), though it would be something of a lame wave. I'd love to see a two-pack containing the undershirt look and the blue/silver stripe uniform. So I guess that's my wish list. :-) Oh, and also a patched-eye Tigh. Which is why I've been wondering why the Commander Lee 'mate had the Galactica arm-patch as opposed to a Pegasus one. I'll need to watch the episodes again, but it seems like he should have been representing "Pegasus" as that was the Battlestar that he briefly commanded.
