  1. PS I can't believe I'm actually first with a bit of news. Every time this happens, someone beats me to it.

beat u to it last friday

    http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.ph...60&start=60

i now i feel bad for doing so :(

    See what I mean. LOL

Be happy. Borg, Picard and Chapel. Yay :D And fat Kirk and Scotty. This wave is gonna rock.

Also, I'm off work this week so I stand a good chance of getting the variant at regular price while I'm there scooping up all the Borg mates.

  2. Sorry to resurrect a old thread...but I wanted to show all my Blade Runner designs on one sheet. Most of these I posted in the Customs and Art section...but this pic shows them all together and I even made a little logo for them. How cool would this line be?

Those are awesome! I think Deckard and Roy are missing something face-wise but the rest are perfect.

  3. Best to pre-order them off of eBay for 70 dollars or whatever. Look how many of us missed out on the Civil War set due to our lack of foresight.

Apparently it's also due to your lack of google. They are still for sale at AFX as of right now.

Marvel Universe Exclusive Civil War Minimates Box Set

    exclusive-item

Usually ships in 2-3 business days.

  4. Austin Powers. The characters are recognizable from their outfits which works well with mates. I would want two inch scale, of course, which would make a Mini-me Mini-Mate mighty minuscule (and possibly difficult to make). Must make Mini-mate Mustafa as well. I think there are enough characters for a couple of waves but boxsets would work as well.

Oops. Not from the 80's, I just noticed that. I still say Austin Powers anyway.

  5. Thank you sir

Since this worked out so well for HotstufflouieB, I've been looking all over the place for a thread I saw recently where someone posted a picture that had some custom klingons in it. I can't seem to find it now. Anyone know where I can find it? Thx.

  6. Me too! I can tell you now I'm looking forward to the smell of glue  I've just scanned ebay for these & the prices vary a lot ,$30 seems about right.

I found one for about $15. Now if the mail man would just hurry up.

I just found one on the shelf of a local model shop today and picked it up for $32.99 so if you can find it cheaper it's probably a good deal. I'm tempted to be lazy and just build the captain's chair. Kirk will look cool on my desk at work sitting in the chair!

  7. These all look great. I ended up ordering a set of BSG from AFX even though I already ordered a case from my LCS.

I have a question about the Trek mates. Is the paint apps like wave 1 or wave 2? Is it painted on a blank mate (wave 1) or is it a colored base with painted on details (wave 2)? Thanks if someone can answer this.

Painted on white bodies. I too prefer this look.

  8. Great find, thanks Max! As thrilled as I am that we finally got these, I just wouldn't be a fan without a bitchy-critique:

*It seems that the two belts (left and right; as the proto.s shown) exceeded the budget and got axed. If only one were possible, I'd have gone with the "righty" (more characters were right-handed) as "Ultimate Wolverine's" belt could have been utilized by "nit-pickers" like myself for the left. Though it is cool that they acknowledged that Apollo (and Athena...for customizers) is a "south-paw".

*I was really hoping that the piping-details (collar and wrists) would get the checkerboarded (gold/black, silver/black) treatment. I realize that they are really tiny, but important details like this would have really enhanced the over-all appearance of these.

*The "Colonial Warrior" boots could have been a bit taller as well as had the shin-pad and side-buckles details added.

*And lastly, I was really hoping that Starbuck's sleeves would at least match the color of the "warrior's" chestpieces for part-swapping customs.

Regardless, I can't wait to receive mine, though it looks like I have quite a bit more work than I had anticipated before I have the perfect 'mates that I had envisioned. Please bretheren (despite my negative comments), buy these-up so that maybe we'll see those Viper and Raider (Classic and Modern) Mini-Flyers!! The future of cool stuff like this depends on our support. ;)

I'm doing my part. I've got two of each on order from Stuckakid and will probably get at least another Colonial pack if not both locally. I love these guys! Man do I wish there were ships for them to pilot though.

PS Boomer's gun is on the right. It's just that he's got one huge-ass set of keys clipped to the left side of his gunbelt but you can't see this detail on a figure as small as a minimate. There, feel better now? ;)

  9. They've got some bad code on that web site. If you browse the products link to Minimates then click on BSG it only goes shows up to wave 4. If you browse BSG then click the Minimates link, you see up to Wave 4 plus the Classic packs plus the Razor packs.

Same with Star Trek. If you go to Minimates and click on Trek you get up to Wave 3. If you go to Trek then click Minmates you see 3 Wave plus the Mirror Mirror boxset.

    Weird.
