ToysRUs in Vancouver had Playmobil stuff on sale this weekend and I decided to pick up some horses for my Western mates. I'm super happy with how they fit!

Horrible colour matching aside, I love my Wave 37 Thing. I swapped shorts with the TRU Thing so he could have a nice 4 logo on his belt.

I was thinking about what would go with these guys when setting up dioramas and it came to me. We need a News Crew with satellite uplink, a mailman and an ambulance chasing lawyer! Also, some badguys and victims of some kind.

Broadway TRU in Vancouver did not have any of these as of last Saturday. I only eyeballed it though. Did not talk to anyone. They did have Friends and Foes for about $10 though.

The amazing thing is that I just did a Google search for "Marvel Minimates ending", and this very thread was the first hit. It's so meta it must be true.

Check out the flea market section of this site. I have this set on my trade list but you'll need to have something I want. There is also a want to buy/sell thread. Someone may have a set listed there. And, of course, ebay.

Iron Man's head looks like the one under HulkBuster's flip up helmet.

I agree about simple hands unless it makes sense for the character. But they should try to make all hands capable of holding any accessories that might come with them or offer the basic hand to swap when holding is required. Gorn, I'm looking at you! No wonder Kirk won. You can't even hold your weapon!

If DST were to make any change to the standard minimate, I would want them to add another point of articulation between the shoulder and elbow so that a mate can cross its arms. One of our customizers here posted about doing this in a thread I stumbled across many moons ago and it was awesome.

It was a dark and stormy night, and I was driving on a lonely desert highway. I saw a Toys R Us sign off to the side of the road, and I decided to pull in. I went straight for the Minimates section and found multiple packs of Bullseye/Moonstone, Warpath/Angel, and Hulkbuster/Gamma Hulk, as well as the mysterious TRU bonus wave with Kang/Songbird, Aunt May/Moira McTaggart, a Wrecking Crew four pack, and Phantom of the Opera/Metaluna Mutant.

I got home and told my friend about it, and he looked confused.

"But that Toys R Us burned down. It's been abandoned for twenty years!"

LOL! You forgot to mention that when you got home there was a minimate hand still hanging from the door handle of your car.

This afternoon my wife and I returned from the mall to find a crushed box with a tire track on in in front of our garage door. The mailman leaves packages there when he cant fit them into our mail box. When my wife brought the package to me and I saw where it came from I knew what it was. That package contained my Variant Rachael Summers/Sentinel two pack I'd gotten from a fellow board member in trade. Not knowing it was there, I'd ran it over when we left for the mall. Needless to say I was pretty pissed. I went inside and opened the box. Though the package was crushed and Rachael's chest was imprinted into the plastic shell, the Minimates were fine. In the end, I'm an opener so it really doesn't matter i guess. I was just worried that my mates were ruined. A big thumbs up to the boardie who did a great job packaging and to AA for producing a quality product! Anybody else have an awful story involving Minimates?

This is my minimate I made of myself.(Crappy picture due to no access to a camera at the moment.)

I wanted some way to have my minimates hold certain weapons better. So I cut the right arm at the top half, rotated and glued it back together to make him hold his shotgun the way one should be held.

The face is from Multiple Man with some of the detail scraped away and my goatee pianted on it. The hair is a repaint of one of my Ironman 'mates. The torso is from Hawkeye from the Old Man Logan set. the jacket and left arm is from Peter Parker from SM3. The right arm is a random arm repainted. I still have the original right arm for everything else. I cut the left hand down to rest the gun in to look normal. The legs are from the movie Bruce Banner with feet from X-23. The gun holster is from Starbuck from BSG. Both the pistol and shotgun are from Brickarms.

Nice work! If you want to go one up on this, there's a thread in here somewhere where someone did the same thing but by cutting up two sets of arms, I think, they added a point of articulation about where you glued. I wish they would update the standard design to be that way. It was really cool.

I love all of the Bat Caves, Halls of Armor etc. I've seen around here. So, with the upcoming Fantastic Four updates starting to arrive, I thought I would share my minimate Baxter Building. It's mostly the Mega Bloks set from a few years ago enhanced with some Lego and minimates. Anyone else have a Baxter Building?

Somewhere on here are some pics somebody posted showing how great they look. And believe me, they DO look great. They're to scale and have pegs for mega bloks figures which let minimates stand on them with ease. They're absolutely perfect.

Hmm, can't seem to find that picture you're talking about. I'm interested in getting this set, but not without seeing how it looks with a minimate on the glider.

Nice Armory. For lighting you might look for a hobby store that carries model railroad stuff. They should have all kinds of tiny low voltage lights.

If anyone ended up with extra complete waves, check out my want / have list. Really want these two waves. Thx.

Same hand as the holster if there is one. Otherwise, right. Army builders should include a few lefties. If I know a character's handedness, I will try to match it if possible. For example, Classic BSC have basically reversible holsters and I think Apollo was a leftie if I have it right.
